Welcome everyone, coming to you directly from the luxurious OLR Studios, this is Templeton. Where is Las Vegas?
SPEAKER_00:This is Sweet Baby Jay. Can I see what you just said written on paper? This is Melina. It is the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life. This is Grizz. After this, I'm going to get off here and I'm going to dragon them balls. This is the Arrogant Yeti. At least I know 2 plus 2 is 5. And this is the FMJ Podcast. You good? I think so. Alright. Alright. Are we ready then? Let's do it. Everybody ready? Welcome back to another beautiful episode of the FMJ Podcast where we make all your wildest fantasies come true. I'm just kidding. We don't do that. Unless... You tickle Yeti's feet with an ostrich feather. When I was last with him, he didn't say feet at all. So you probably won't want to do that right now. So the other day I was walking into the kitchen. Is that why you said that, Jay? I was walking into the kitchen now that you say it now that you bring it up it's kind of funny and my dogs I have two dogs and they drooled a little bit after getting some water and I fucking slipped alright and when I I didn't fall but when I slipped the transition from the living room to the kitchen I kicked the piece that like sits above the tile and the wood planks it took a chunk of my toe out and it caused it to bruise and i've been dealing with this and i'm gonna show it because no no no i didn't ask for that didn't ask for that no proof i'm sorry i'm sorry oh god ew get it out of here bro put your foot down we're done you got it put it away put it away so much i was in the bathtub and it was just leaking that's gross and yeah and then so like I didn't think about it because it happened Sunday night and I kind of and I was walking like this you know keeping the big toe up I wasn't thinking much of it and then when I went to sleep I bandaged it up I went to sleep I woke up I went to put my shoes on. Ouch. Oh, my God. I almost hit the fucking roof, bro. Ouch. I almost hit the fucking roof, and I said, fuck. Yeah. A lot of nerve endings down there. Not the best. Not the best. Monday and Tuesday was not pleasant. I was walking all sorts of funny, and I learned how to keep my toe up and not put too much pressure. The problem is when you're working in a truck and getting in and out, up and down, left and right, you're going to hit it. when you don't want to. That's gross. That's disgusting. So with that being said, Yeti, what does your pulse look like right now? It's a solid seven. Seven? Wait a minute. Hang on. I bet it's them seven Dragon Balls and you wish you could take that whole thing back with your toe. Can you imagine Shenron pops up and he's like, state your wish. And Yeti's like, Can you, like, fix my toe? He's like, wait, wait, wait. It hurts. You don't want to be rich? No, I just want my toe to stop hurting. That's such an oolong wish. I wish for panties. Oh, Lord. That's fucking great. That's fucking great. But other than your toe, how's everything else? well i honestly okay so the last podcast was a blur i was exhausted i don't i don't remember it autopilot because it has to do with me being a new father and i had no sleep and i was just going through the motion um so yeah so a couple things i forgot to bring up so I do the Marvel digital cards. Yes, you do. Right. Okay. So in that, while doing the Marvel digital cards, there's a set out called Marvel Chrome and it is fucking popular. Okay. It is super popular. Well, on the app, if you have a chance to get a card, not anymore because they're sold out, but you have a chance to get a card that it would grant you a hobby box that of actual Chrome cards. Okay. I was one of the lucky ones to get it. Hey! Let's go! They only had 144 of those cards come out on the digital app. The chances of getting it was between 1 and 4,000 chance to get that card. Oh, damn. Yeah, I learned that by reading some of the rules and stuff. It's pretty fucking dope that I got it. On the other side of that, Oh,
SPEAKER_01:no. No way. No way. Wait.
SPEAKER_00:No way was he in the middle of the fucking story. Holy, holy giddy. I'm back. I'm back. So what was
SPEAKER_01:I saying? Your
SPEAKER_00:computer fucking hates you. Your computer absolutely hates you. It's always in the middle of a goddamn story. Your computer is just like, cut him off. What was the last thing you heard? I don't even remember. I'm sorry. Oh! So you told us about the one in like 4,000 chance. Yeah. So to get the hobby box online, if you wanted to buy it outright. Yeah. Outright. It costs$750. Oh my God. So, and I got this card while I was sitting in the hospital waiting for. God damn it.
UNKNOWN:Fuck.
SPEAKER_01:I can't. I just can't. I'm going to puke. My daughter to be born. Oh, fuck.
SPEAKER_00:So$750 to get the box. Check. You got the card while in the hospital waiting for your daughter to be born. Check. All right. Is that it? That's it. So I'm pretty stoked on that. So there is more to the story, but I'm afraid to even talk about it, bro. Your computer literally hates you. I don't understand, bro. Every single time, every single time, your computer's like, stop right there. I'm going to speed this. Okay, I'm going to speed this, all right? Cliff's notes.
SPEAKER_01:God damn it!
SPEAKER_00:I'm not doing it! I'm not
SPEAKER_01:doing it! I did it! Motherfucker!
SPEAKER_00:Because literally, I feel like... He froze again! He froze again! He did freeze again. I'm sorry. We can barely even do this. We can barely even do this show right now. Hey, there he is. Welcome back. I don't know what's going on with this shit right now. It hurts! It hurts! I'm sorry. I want to apologize to our listeners. Because, man, the craziest shit has been happening yet he's trying to tell this story. His computer's No, you're not. Every time he gets into the story, he freezes. He said, I'm going to speed through this, and the laptop said, nope. And he freezes. Yeti, if you want to try again, or if the moment's passed, let me know. Nope, frozen. God damn it! I don't know what's going on with this computer! I don't know! Okay, so here's... I'm out! Fuck you! Fuck you! I'm gonna do this from my phone. So anyway, while we wait until Yeti figures his stuff out, Templeton, if we can gather a little bit right now and just tell me what your pulse is looking like. I'm sure it's a little elevated. especially after all that. It was like 121, but now it's like 150. Oh, my God. It's too funny. Too funny. Yeah, he dipped out. He's probably going to switch some things around, if I had to guess. Jesus Christ. Bro, I don't know. I don't know. And then you're like, are you doing this? No, I'm not doing this. I can't control his computer from where I am. Oh, God. Too funny. Too funny. I think he just needs to the new pewter so anyway how are things with you templeton how you doing how you feeling anything new life has been fine i guess like it's life is life not always easy not always hard but it's there yeah I haven't been sleeping the best, so I fall asleep really early every day. Yeah, it happens. That is what it is. I got you. Are you there? Are you guys there? We can hear you. Fuck that computer. Fuck everything. This is where I'm at. I'm on my phone, motherfuckers. I'm doing this shit. Oh, man. He's back. I have no idea how I sound. Hopefully, I sound fine. It's going to be a fucking It's going to be a fucking wild ass run today. Anyways, so now that I can just, I don't mean to cut you off, Templeton, but I am. You're good. I'm annoyed. I'm annoyed right now. So anyways, so the other part of my story is there's an app called Whatnot. I don't know if you guys have heard of it, but basically it's like a live stream for whatever. There's electronics, trading cards, comics, Funko Dolls, shoes you name it it's fucking on there you just gotta find someone who's auctioning it pretty much and you can type in Marvel Chrome and the way it works the way a lot of them do it it's called a break and what they do is like you bid on so like let's say I think a lot of people do like 200 spots and I think that covers all The cards and, like, auto signatures and stuff of that nature. Because you can get cards in there that are one-on-one. Like, there's a one-on-one Iron Man that got sold on eBay for$20,000. Jesus
SPEAKER_01:Christ.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that's how popular these fucking cards are, bro. Can we pause for just one second? Yes. What is the point of buying a$20,000 virtual card? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, the Whatnot app is physical cards. Okay, I got you. Okay. Yeah, this is all physical stuff. Yeah, that's what the Whatnot app is. The digital cards is just where I personally don't see a point of it, but there is a small market of it because I've sold my account twice on there, and I've traded my cards away for like$1,000 both times. I feel like they fall under like NFTs, right? Yes, yes. Just digital shit that people can buy. I mean, we're in the age of Bitcoin, so I'm not surprised that people are willing to pay that kind of money for a digital card. I just needed some context is all. The most I've seen cards go for digitally is a few hundred dollars. I mean, it's still not bad. But a few hundred dollars is also in my opinion. Because you've been doing that for many, many years. Yeah, it's been five years since... It's been five years and I sold my account twice. Oh, wow. Yeah, so... Um, but anyway, so this whatnot app, so basically what you do is you bid on a, uh, you bid on a empty spot and you can be outbidded. There's, they do, they do the auction where it adds seconds or they do sudden death. The last person that bid the highest wins that auction. Okay. But now you don't know what you're going to get. That's the only flip side because there's a randomizer wheel. So once you bid and you win your spot, it rolls between the 200 characters that there are. Now, obviously, I was in one lobby or one stream and Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk... and someone else, I think maybe Black Widow, were still left on the board out of 10 spots. So when it got, yeah, when it got down to 10, those auction prices tripled because Hulk is a chaser, Wolverine's a chaser, Iron Man's a chaser, and again, I just told you that a physical card just got sold for$20,000 on eBay, like a one-of-one. Now, does that mean you're going to get a Wolverine or a one-of-one? No, it doesn't mean jack
SPEAKER_01:shit.
SPEAKER_00:Right, so like, I mean, and These cards are fucking nice because I've been doing it and I've got some pretty... Oh, that's pretty. Right. I got some pretty badass cards over here. And that was base. These are just base level cards. Yeah, those are pretty dope. So now I do have, let me see here, if I move some of this stuff around. So if I go down, I did get a couple of numbered cards, which is pretty dope. This is a Miles Morales on a refractor. Oh, I like that. Yeah, it's got the rainbow on it. Yeah.
UNKNOWN:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:So this card right here, I mean, it's not much, but this Hulk card on this yellow will probably get me 15, 20 bucks, give or take. That's pretty nice. And then I have a numbered card. I don't have all my cards because I've won some. But here's a Wasp. And this one is 71 of 299. Nice. Now, I won a Black Panther. So I bid it on a spot. I won Black Panther. And his numbered card is to 50. Okay. I got you. So that's probably my best card I've got so far. But I don't know. It's dangerous because you get into some streams and they only have a couple viewers. Right. And... a lot of their stuff will only go for like a dollar or two. Well, the problem is you do a dollar or two, 20 times. Yeah. That adds up. It adds up. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like you found yourself a new hobby. Yeah. It just, it's, it's dangerous though. Cause I've, I've got to stay off of it because I, I have the habit. If I get on it, I'm like, Oh, I'm not going to bid. I'm just going to watch it. Cause the breaks, watching them break. And then you wind up bidding. That's, that's such a lot. It's a trap. Why would you set yourself up like that? It's crazy work. Yeah. at the peak of baseball cards which is like late 80s mid 90s if we had like the internet like we do right now right they're breaking dude I'm telling you right now I just watched I went into some Was it basketball? I think it was a basketball string. I'm not even a huge fan of basketball, but these people were bidding thousands of dollars on cards. Some of those cards are literally worth that as far as the market goes. The thing is, baseball cards aren't what they used to be. People don't watch baseball like that anymore. I agree. They can always make a resurgence. I love baseball. Baseball is probably my second favorite sport right now. Yeah, baseball's a lot of fun. Oh, now that we're talking about this, I was listening to Elvis Duran in the morning show, and apparently... Free plug, by the way. There was... Yeah, there was a... a basketball card that contained both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant on the same card. I don't remember if it was autographed. There was something special about it. I don't know if it was autographed or a piece of their jerseys were on it. Something of that nature, but it went for auction and they were anticipating it going at the minimum of$6 million. Those are like Top three, top four players of all time? Yep. Arguably the greatest of all time. Right. I'm going to look it up real quick and see if I can find one. I mean, if you ask me, this is all personal opinion, but if you ask me, top two is Jordan and Kobe. And then you can argue the rest. I agree. I agree. 110%. Jordan, Kobe, argue the rest. Don't care. That's pretty crazy. Look into that. I'm glad everybody's doing good. I'm glad that Yeti finally found a way to keep his connection stable and can stay on the show with us. But for now, we'll move into some entertainment news. I got it. Real quick. It's a one-of-one card, and it has a current bid of$6.77 million. There you go. Somebody will pay that. Somebody's And it has... Somebody's gonna have a nice payday. It has two more days of auction. Somebody's gonna have a nice payday, so... They're just waiting until the last possible second. Yeah, that's all that is. Alright, so... Entertainment news! Who wants some? Always. So apparently, Disney Plus has absorbed Hulu. Jesus Christ.
UNKNOWN:Ha ha ha.
SPEAKER_00:That means they get to triple their prices. So they absorbed it, so are we losing the Hulu app then? The Hulu app will be phased out next year, supposedly. I guess this is their game plan. The Hulu app will be phased out next year, but Hulu and Disney Plus will still be offered as separate apps. You can still get them separately, but it will make it... I don't know exactly what their game plan is, but here's what I'm going to read just a little bit for you. It says, Say ciao to the standalone Hulu streaming app. This is from Variety. Disney said it is fully integrating the Hulu service, which it now owns 100% into its flagship Disney Plus streamer. A new unified Disney Plus and Hulu streaming app will be available in 2026, the company said. According to a Disney rep, customers will still be able to buy a standalone Hulu subscription as well as a standalone Disney Plus plan. What's going on? What's up? I was going to say, that doesn't make financial sense for, like, anybody. I mean, you're not wrong, but I would assume there's going to be some kind of, like, bundle stuff or, like, just... I did read this before I got on and before we started, because right now they offer Disney Plus Hulu and ESPN Plus as a bundle. And I, and I think ESPN plus will be, I think it will, I think it's going to kind of be standalone ish, but it is the price of it's going to go way the fuck up, which I seen at the, it is at the end of this. So, um, said today we are now, we are announcing a major step forward in strengthening our streaming offering by fully integrating Hulu into Disney plus that's, that was, um, uh, CEO, Bob eager, Iger, whatever. And CFO, Hugh Johnson said in, um, in, uh, prepared commentary on the media giant's quarterly earnings. This will create an impressive package of entertainment pairing the highest caliber brands and franchises, great general entertainment family programming news, and industry-leading live sports content in a single app. So the single Disney Plus app with Hulu will deliver an improved consumer experience, which will lower churn, Eager said on the earnings call. Both services will be on one tech platform, which will result in... In addition, Disney, which already sells ads for Disney Plus and Hulu together, sees new opportunities for bundling ad sales by fully combining them, he said. In their prepared remarks, the Disney exec said, So, in addition, Hulu will become a global general entertainment brand starting in the fall of 2025, and it will replace the star tile on Disney Plus internationally. So, with that being said... That was a lot of words to say fuck you. Basically, yes. It was, pretty much. So the move to fully sew Hulu together with Disney Plus comes after Disney, following two years of negotiating, closed its deal with Comcast to buy out NBC Universal's one-third stake in Hulu in June 2025. Disney paid Comcast in total about$9 billion, including$8.61 billion in November of 23 and$438.7 million this past June. So Comcast has been seeking more than$13 billion for the 33% Hulu stake. The final price tag was determined through arbitration by a third-party banker. ESPN Plus will be standalone. It says, in addition, the company set August 21st as the launch date for its ESPN standalone streaming product, which is priced now at$29.99 a month. No. Won't do it. Also, second... Wait, that's how much Disney Plus will be? No, that's how much ESPN... Oh, okay. Yeah, that's crazy. Here's the thing. I mean, the only sport that I really watch is football. And even that's becoming hard to watch because it's on 30 different streaming services. And I've seen it. I don't know if it was a meme. I don't know if it was true or not. Or a title that said it's going to cost you like$1,300 or$1,400 to watch every NFL game this season because of all the different streaming services that it's on. It's kind of stupid. Which is fucking insane. Go ahead. No, I was just going to say, the only people to blame is us because we paid for the streaming. Yes. If we didn't pay for streaming, we would still have fucking cable and everything would be on cable. Because nobody sold us coming. We should have, but we didn't. Yeah, writing was on the wall. Yeah, writing was on the wall. Right. With everything. But you guys remember when Hulu was free? Yeah. Right. Free, free. Yeah, free, free. Yep. Yeah. A lot of those services started out free and then they started saying, oh, look, Netflix is doing this. Oh, shit. We can do the same thing. They're making money? Yeah, let's do the same thing. So everybody followed suit. And now it's just, you know how that snowballs. It's a fucking dog pile. Yeah, everybody's like, I need my money. To watch anything, we're going to end up paying significantly more than we were already paying for cable or satellite or whatever. Just to watch anything. It's fucking ridiculous. I agree. So there you have it. And I ain't gonna lie. Like, like I'm trying to share fucking services to fucking lower their costs as long as I can. But even that's becoming obsolete because they're changing their, Oh, if it's not on the same wifi or the same internet, you're, you're trying to find ways to combat us saving money, which is absolutely crazy because it's like when Netflix came out, their whole shtick was love is sharing your password. Now they're like, you can't share your password anymore because we want them to pay. Right. For a subscription. And it's like, wait, I remember when Netflix was five, four 99, four fucking 99. Now granted you got, you had fucking shit movies on there. I ain't gonna lie about that. But bro, I would, I would, I would love to have that back again though. I ain't gonna lie. I mean, these are companies that have like billions and billions and billions and billions of dollars that they're exposable. Right. The, that they're trying to gouge us for another fucking 20 bucks a month. Yep. It's crazy. On paper, if you think about it, how much is Disney Plus right now?$16.99, I think, give or take. Something around there.$12.99,$13.99, something like that. How much would you say Hulu runs?$9.99, I think. Okay, so in theory, they could add both of those prices together and say this is how much the new Disney Plus will be.$22,$23,$24. So the bundle that I'm paying for, I have Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus, and it's like$24,$25. So I'm not mad about that. The problem is, what will their new price be? It's going to go up. It's going to go up. What will the new price be set to? I don't know because it really changes. change anything because Hulu is already being offered in their bundle. The issue is they can raise their prices to whatever in the hell they want to raise it to. Oh, 100%. Where are you going to go? You either have to pay it or you don't have to watch anything. Yeah, you don't watch Hulu. Because I don't know how much the ESPN Plus app it was by itself. I don't think it was$29.99 though. Because I really want to watch the King of the Hill reboot that just launched, but I don't have Hulu Plus. I don't want to pay for Hulu Plus just to watch that one show.
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_00:So what am I supposed to do? I'm going to tell you what you're supposed to do. Here's what's going to end up happening. Jay may know what I'm about to say. I don't know. So a few months ago, I knew someone that has, I guess, it's like a broken or gel broken fire stick or whatever they're called. Oh, yeah.
UNKNOWN:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:He didn't have that. He had a version of that. But it was a cable box. It was like a jailbroken cable box. And he brought it because someone wanted to test it out before they committed to buying it. And I was like, how much is he selling it? And he was selling it for like$400. Which... Kind of pricey, right? It seems a little pricey. And he's like, bro, it has everything. It has fucking everything. It is a one-time payment. Here's the thing. I fucking plugged that motherfucker in, bro. And I was like, because he let me borrow it. And I fucking had it for a weekend, bro. And I literally had everything. From... Everyone and everything and I'm like damn the only drawback is is I watch TV on in different rooms So you like to be comfortable on TV? Yeah, I see you only have it on one TV or I buy for these boxes to cover my room the guest room Basement and a living room. We just sleep ahead. I had a jailbroken part. I still have it but I I haven't used it in a while. It was a jailbroken fire state. The issue that I had was a lot of these sites and platforms and stuff change their algorithm so frequently that you have to keep... re-updating the software to get through. It's not difficult, but you have to know how to do it. The cool thing about this box that he had, because he explained that. He's like, you don't have to do shit. Think of an app store. It had a list of all these different apps. Once you're okay to download it to your system, it would automatically check for updates. at certain times during the day and he's like it would do yeah he's like he's like you get on there and like let's say you want to go to like in each app has its own different name or whatever and you go to that app and it's like sorry we're undergoing maintenance here's the thing at some point whoever's controlling that app will disappear at some point yeah you know what i'm saying like now he claims he's had it for like four or five years and had had hasn't had any issues I mean, if it's working for him, you know what I mean? He probably watches it on one TV, though. True, true, true. It's going to be tough. Cable's already crazily expensive, and now all these streaming services are also becoming stupid expensive. I don't know. It's something else. It'll be interesting to see what Disney does with it. I have a feeling Disney's going to jack their prices up. I think they will a little bit. Just because they have to recoup what they spent to buy Hulu, which I'm sure wasn't fucking cheap. I wonder if that's going to be good for the film industry and theaters because a lot of people are like, oh, I want to see that, but I'll wait until it comes out on streaming or whatever. But if they only have to spend$9 to see it in the theater or they have to spend$30,$40 to see it In their living room. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Because here's the thing. Will that start a snowball effect? Will other streaming services start to absorb other streaming services? you know especially like you know you know uh big bank take little bank in a way like right i mean you're talking about you're talking about netflix fucking doing like a monopoly but they couldn't do that though well no i mean disney's already starting you know disney started it right now if netflix decides to go hey you know what let me get to be the last free thing that you know the world has it wouldn't have to be t it don't even have to be tubi bro they could go over to fucking HBO. Oh, I know. You know, some of these ones that are a little bit smaller... but would be willing to sell their shit. Yeah. I don't think Paramount Plus... Paramount probably wouldn't. No, Paramount wouldn't. Because Paramount literally has... Paramount is its own... Yeah, it's its own entity. I'm trying to think of who else would be out there that would probably do it. Peacock. Peacock probably would. Peacock would probably do it. Maybe Apple TV. Maybe... Maybe. Maybe. It's a big maybe. I don't know. It'll be interesting to see. 2026 is when it's happening, so we'll see what happens. I don't know what that means for me as a bundle owner already. Does that mean that I'm now going to have to pay the higher prices? Do I get grandfathered in? How's this going to work? I don't know. Ain't no one ever got grandfathered in. You're going to have to pay the full price. Nobody got grandfathered in, bro. That's never been a fucking word that any of these fucking streaming services even though it should be yeah i was gonna say i guess the underlying theme is like no matter what happens like the consumer is the one's gonna get fucked yeah right and there's no benefit of of keeping a streaming system for a lengthy amount of time because like i just said no one's ever been grandfathered in could you imagine how many more subscribers that they would probably have if they Yes, they did raise the price, but said, hey, if you bought back in 2015, your price will never change. That'd be dope. Wouldn't it be? That would be dope. Because here's the thing. Cell phone carriers do it when they change plans. Yeah, when they change plans. If that's the plan you're stuck on, then you get grandfathered in. You pay that price. So why not? You know what I mean? It would benefit them in the long run if they were like, you know what? Yeah, you just continue paying the price that you're paying. We up it for new subscribers, but what you're paying, you pay. Don't cancel. Don't cancel. Because once you cancel, you're fucked. Yeah, you're fucked. You're going to come back. You want to come back? You're going to have to pay. Price just went up. Price is going up! Price is going up! So it's like, I don't know. Right, it's like, I don't know. I don't know why these streaming services don't do that anyway, because it's like, it's a no-brainer. Because they don't know what the word loyalty means. That's all it comes down to. The people that have, you know, I joined back in, I don't remember when I joined, but say you joined back in, you know, like 15, 20 years ago. Why am I getting punished for being loyalty? Right, right. I don't get it. I just said that. I remember when I was paying$4.99 a month. Right. So it's like, why couldn't they... And it's up to 20... It's in the 20s now. It's up there. 24, 25, 26. It's up there. It's getting close to fucking 30. It is. And I don't know. I don't know. So anyway, there you have it. Fire off in the comments how you feel. We just spent... We just spent like half an hour, 45 minutes talking about streaming. That should be our topic, bro. We should just fucking call it on that one. Dude, we just spent the course of reading like a block of cheese.
SPEAKER_01:It
SPEAKER_00:should be our fucking topic, bro. Oh, shit. You hit a nail on her head. You didn't even know that that nail was out. Well, I mean, I know Templeton suggested it. That's why I was like, do we want to talk about that? Because that was the one thing that I had. I was like, I mean, you know, we got Hulu, Disney Plus absorbing it. It can be a whole topic. It absolutely can be. I say we just keep this as our topic. Run it the way it is. And then next podcast, we can do John Williams. Wick and we can plug that right now. What? Who's John Wick? Jesus fucking Christ. You're doing it backwards, dog. We'll make our next episode about streaming services. We'll revisit this. Especially if we get Grizz on here. He can give his two cents. But as of right now, we have Reddit Roulette to play is what we have. No, I'm tired. Yeah, Reddit Roulette. I mean, I got Reddit pulled up already. I can literally... I'm getting to it. I just gotta get to the R's. You gotta pick a different camera angle. Leave him alone. I can't see the camera because I'm playing with my phone. Can you see it in my nose? No. Did you see my double chin? Yes. I think that's what he was talking about. That's mean. It's your boy. There you go. It's your boy. Now they can look at your hairlines. I know, right? Okay. Damn. Pick a number. All right, Templeton. Pick a number one through... I already said seven. Oh, seven? Bitch. He said one through two. All right. Two. Two? Okay, two. One. Two.
UNKNOWN:Two.
SPEAKER_00:Let's make it a quick one. Ooh, am I the asshole for being entitled? Yes. Done. I don't even need to read this motherfucker. Next question. Okay. All right. This is an 18-year-old male. Am I the asshole? This has been eating at me for a while, so I figured asking on here wouldn't do any harm. A few years ago, I got out of a very bad living situation in which I was stuck with my abusive father, and because of how long I was living with him, I ended up needing to relearn how to be around people. My mom and stepmom have been... very understanding and correct me when I do something wrong, but sometimes I can't help it and disagree with what they say. They told me to avoid talking about myself, to not to not over-explain my boundaries and lately have told me I'm entitled. The first time was a couple months ago. I know it shouldn't still bother me, but it does, where I made a joke about wanting the fridge only to be filled with my favorite foods. My mom called me entitled and said that I shouldn't demand things like that when we are struggling. I admit that it was a bad joke, but I hadn't eaten all of that day, and it was late at night, and I was excited that we were about to go buy food. Most recent time was yesterday. I had an assignment due by 11 p.m. Wasn't able to even see it until right then because of the glitch on my school website. My teacher unexpectedly moved, so nobody taught us what the assignment was about. The website barely explained anything in my textbook. Didn't have any information involving the assignment. I panicked, and when I called her while on my way home, I said, you've got to hurry. This was definitely rude looking back on it, but right as I said it, that's when she said that I was an entitled thing to say. You can't demand things from people, especially not your parents. What? It doesn't even make sense. Well, I mean, you also got to look at it through the lens of an 18-year-old, right? Right, right. Okay, anyway, so she talked about it until the call ended, and now I can't stop thinking about it. It's upsetting me so much that I keep going through and saying I'm not entitled. I just feel entitled. I don't know what to do or think. I don't know if I should do some hard self-reflection or sit down and talk to my mom about how much her judgment hurts. Reddit, am I an entitled asshole? Okay, so... that definitely went a different direction i thought it was gonna go yeah i thought it was gonna be like you know i demanded a mercedes for my birthday right yeah right i didn't get it like yeah i didn't exactly that was mercedes they gave me a land rover i'm like oh okay yeah entitled you're mad about that that's crazy um but no like i i don't know like like he they mentioned something about he they he said he told his mom to hurry or something like that yeah because i'm hungry because i didn't eat i didn't eat today i mean okay so okay so okay now that i've like i'm reading it word for word instead of skimming over it basically what that confusing paragraph is about is there was he had something he had an assignment due by 11 p.m okay and he There was a glitch in the system, the school system, where he didn't know he had the assignment due, and it was probably, he said it was due by 11, and he wasn't even to see it until right then. So I don't know what time right then is. I would imagine probably 10 p.m. Right, right, right. And he couldn't figure anything out because the teacher moved, so there was no information involving the assignment. So he panicked, called his mom, asked her for help, and I think during the conversation because that's where it says like information involving this I panicked and when I called her that's where I was confused yeah you call the teacher but I'm assuming it sound called his mother yes I mean on his way home and said you've got a hurry because he's in a panic he needs to get this done okay and that sentence made him seem like he was entitled because yeah you need to stop what you need to drop what you're doing get over here help me out yes yes yes yes so I mean I've Go ahead, Templeton. I was going to say, I feel like it needs to be like a parent-teacher meeting. There needs to be some clarity. okay well I don't I don't think he talked to the teacher I think it was his mom right no I got you but I'm just saying like he was confused and the parent was confused so they need to sit with the teacher and figure out what the expectation is yeah because if there's a glitch listen if there's a glitch in the system if that is to be true like if what he said is true and there was a glitch in the system and nothing was working until right and and and you know he didn't know until say an hour like what We're just saying argument for argument's sake, say an hour before the assignment was due. That's something that, that he needs to have a discussion with the, with the teacher with not just him, but as Templeton said, probably the mother as well. Now we don't know if this is, I'm assuming this is college. Cause I don't know any high school that's offered. That's telling you, I'm just saying, I don't know any high school that's saying, get your assignment in by 11 PM. I don't know any high school is doing that. So I don't, that is fair. That is what I'm saying. So it could be, it could be a college assignment that, that he needs by 11pm which okay that's cool gotcha but that should be a discussion he should have with his teacher at that point it's this late I don't know what's going on I don't know exactly what kind of help he needed from his mom to be asked to say you need to hurry I don't know that I don't know that's my other thing on the opposite side of that I've never been like when it comes to school assignments or work assignments. I know I suck when it comes to podcast shit. But shit like that, I want to get it done as quickly as possible. Because then if there's a problem or if they don't like it or if it's not right, then I have time to fix it. You give yourself a little bit of leeway. Yeah, yeah. Also, like... I'm just like, I have anxiety about being late for things. Yeah. So... Oh, then I drive you crazy then probably. Let's
SPEAKER_01:see what I said
SPEAKER_00:earlier. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes, he does. So, I mean, I'm, I'm totally with you. Like, like, like I get it, but again, in his scenario, I don't know exactly what his mom would be able to do to help him. That's, I think that might be where his mom is thinking, okay, you sound entitled. Cause which entitled is a stretch. Cause yeah, that seems, yeah. I mean, see, I'm also looking at from, from, Like you said, you got to learn from an 18-year-old. Right. I remember being in school and waiting until the last minute to do schoolwork. Oh, hell yeah. And I know that falls on me. Yep. But in the heat of the moment, I'm like, come on, Mom, you got to help me. Please, please, please, please, please. Right, right, right. It could be one of those things. You know what I'm saying? And that could very well be it. And that's why I'm saying I feel like entitled is a stretch. Right. I agree with both of you. I would just say as far as me and Yeti goes, I was the exact opposite type of student, but for very similar reasons. I would do all my homework for every class before I left school because I didn't want to have to do it at home, and then it was done. It was done. I didn't have to fuck with it anymore, and all I had to do was turn it in. I loved doing that, bro. I loved getting all that work done before I went home because, buddy, when I get out of school, I don't want to do schoolwork. I want to go home. Exactly. And I want to play my video. I want to play my video games. I want to jump on the Nintendo. I want to go outside. I want to, I want to run around and be a child, right? I want to go do stuff. I hustled the system. Our logic was the same, but our processes were very, very different. Word. Oh, here's my process. I had, I had chemistry out here in Kentucky and I had a shirt. It was a Nautica shirt and it had like, like the abbreviation for water of like H2O or something, something goofy like that. The abbreviation for water. When did H2O become the abbreviation for
SPEAKER_01:water? Fix it. Fix it, my man. Fix it, please.
SPEAKER_00:No fucking way. No way. No shot. He said H2O is an abbreviation for fucking water. Fix it, please. All right. The elements for it, okay? Fuck. Are you happy now? No. This just adds to what I'm about to say. I had this shirt. And every time I'd wear it in the classroom, she'd give me an extra 20 points for being, for being, like, for being, like, a participant on trying to teach people. No way. No shot. Yeah. No shot. Just because it had, just because it had, like, some elements on my shirt, bro. No shot. This man did not. Once I learned this, I threw that shirt in the locker and I never took it home. No fucking shot. And that motherfucker would be put on every time I walk into that classroom. No shot. No. That's why I called it an abbreviation, dude. I need to ask you a question. It's not even a main question. I just need to understand. Were you the special kid in the class? Oh, no. Oh, fuck yeah, I was. No, I wasn't. To be fair, I'm smart in certain things. No, I agree. I'm not smart across the board. I'm asking about the specific class. The one you wore the abbreviation for water to? It will forever be known as the abbreviation for water now. No! Never mind the chemical or elemental makeup of water. Never mind that. It's the abbreviation. H2O. How do you abbreviate water? H2O. Dumbass. I mean, you can't tell me. I mean, technically speaking, it is a form of abbreviation. No, it is not. Stop it. Cut it out. What is the definition of abbreviation? Cut it out. Cutting the word smaller. Yeah, but you're still using the word. When you abbreviate a word, you're still using the word. Like, when I say obby, I'm talking obviously, but I've eliminated a lot of the word, right? It's still the word. It's still in the word. The word water does not have an H, does not have a 2, and it doesn't have an O. So no, it's not an abbreviation. It's a totally different makeup. What about a water hole? Sure, whatever. Whatever kind of hole you like. Anyway, I'm going to go off and say my verdict is going to be probably not the asshole. I'm going to have to say not the asshole. I agree. You know, just viewing it, the discussion we had, just viewing it that way, I'm going to have to say not the asshole, because it does feel like what Yeti said. It feels like, you know, he's panicking because he didn't know, you know, doesn't have access to it until, you know, I guess last minute for this thing to get turned in, and now he's like, Mom, come on, come on, come on, come on, I gotta hurry, I gotta hurry. Yeah, exactly. So, and who knows? You know, Templeton just mentioned he's got anxiety about certain things. So maybe that's what he has. Maybe he's anxious about this whole thing and he's freaking out. And his mom's like, you're an entitled little brat. The other thing that we're not talking about is he said he just left an abusive father. That in itself, I don't want to get too much into that, even though we probably should, but I'm not. Because you can have a very long conversation about that. That in itself causes trauma.
SPEAKER_01:That
SPEAKER_00:trauma trauma causes PTSD it causes psychological issues like there's a lot of things that that can cause and I'm no shrink I'm no doctor I obviously don't have no PhD as we've learned because the abbreviation for water is not H2O no the abbreviation is H2O but I'm sure what he went through bleeds into his everyday life Absolutely. Yeah, there's layers
SPEAKER_01:there.
SPEAKER_00:Right, right. So, I mean, just looking at both of those and being 18-year-old, like, there's a lot he's learning still. You know what I'm saying?
UNKNOWN:Like...
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, there's a lot there. Yeah, that's why we're going to... I think we're all in consensus. Not the asshole. Yeah, not the asshole. My dude, you're straight. Yeah, if he listens to this, not the asshole, you're okay. Just, you know, have a little chit-chat with Ma. You know, just be like, listen, I'm not trying to be entitled. I'm just saying, like, I was panicking. I was freaking out. And, you know... Dad, fuck him. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. And he's your father, and you probably have love for him because he's your father. But no, fuck him. Right, right. So it's like, I don't know. Just, yeah, not the asshole. And keep doing you, buddy. And hopefully, I'm going to assume, again, it's college. Hopefully you graduate. Stay in school. Stay in school, goddammit. So anyway. Keep moving forward one foot at a time. You'll be all right. That's right. So anyway. With that, you know what could help, especially a college kid, especially with focusing and all that kind of stuff, clearing up their mind and everything, getting rid of that brain fog, and maybe, just maybe, he would have gotten to this state of mind where he's just focused, super focused. Magic mind! What kind of transition was that? See how I segued into that? That was dope, dude. I know. That was dope. I set it up. Flawless. I teed it up beautifully. Flawless victory. Teed it up beautifully. So Magic Mine, hey, it's this little mental performance shot. It's got all kinds of nootropics in it. It'll help you clear your mind, give you some calm energy. It's got matcha tea in it. You can get your caffeine, L-theanine. It'll help your body to regulate that caffeine intake. So that way you can keep that energy going for longer. You can mix it in stuff if you want to. Or you can just drink it straight up like I'm about to right now. But it is a delicious little shot that will absolutely get you set, focused, clear, and calm. Let's go. Dog. Damn. So, of course, my focus has gone up 99, and we are ready to dive into a main topic. But before we do that, if, yes. Do you find yourself sleeping better when you drink that, like right now? Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely, I do. Now, they also do have a sleep aid. It's a little purple one. It's melatonin-free, so it's not... You said you tried that one, right? Yes, I did try it. What's that called? I mean, just imagine. What is that sleep aid called? Oh, Lord. I'd have to look into that one, but... Yeah, they do have the sleep aid. I think it is just a sleep aid. It's just Magic Mind. Gotcha. Yeah, because they got the purple one and they got the Max and all that other kind of stuff. Yeah, I was just curious. Yeah, yeah. That's like personal stuff. No, I'm with you. I'm with it. If you want to, you can check out their website. I was going to say before we get into this, you can go to www.magicmind.com and use our discount code FMJPOD20 and that will get you 20% off of one-time purchases. So that way if you need the Sleep Aid or you need the Max, which has a lot more caffeine than this guy does, you can give Give it a shot. Give it a go. Get 20% off and see if it works for you. And if it does, let us know. But you can use our code because we love you. Yeah. Wake up. I'm awake. Get your magic mind. So anyway. Does it look like my eyes are closed? Always. At all times. It looks like you're sleeping at all times. So anyway, we'll get into our main topic today, which is a what? What? John Wick. Keanu Reeves. I don't... Okay, so one of you is right, one of you is wrong. Well, I was already wrong once today. And I'm not even the one who figured it out. The chances are, I'm batting 100. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's definitely Yeti. We are talking about Keanu Reeves movies. We're going to list our top three, and it cannot be John Wick. John Wick cannot be in it, because that is... I gotta quit. That's gonna be like just a gimme. I know, that is a gimme. That was a joke, I'm kidding. It could literally be like top three, John Wick 1, 2, and 3. Next. But here's the thing, Keanu Reeves is such an awesome actor. He's been around forever. He's got a huge catalog of movies he's been in. So it's like, why don't we talk about other ones? What if We say 247 or 547. You said 547. All right. No, 527. It was 527. What's up, Templeton? It's still a lot. 547 seems like a lot. It is a lot. But if you've been around that long, I would expect you to be in. But that also includes voiceovers and stuff of that nature. Yes, it does. I think it may include also video games as well. Whatever he is credited in. Yeah. Whatever he is, quote unquote, acted in. That includes voice acting. That includes motion capture. That includes just acting in general. All of them. That's what that includes. So we will give you our top three, and we'll discuss them a little bit. A little bit. Anybody want to go first? I'll go first. Get in. All right. I'll take it. I'll take it. I'll take it. All right. And we're doing top three, right? Top three. Your top three. Okay. So here's my top three. I'm kind of torn right now between a couple. Uh-oh. Number one, in my opinion, because it's just, I remember watching that early, whatever speed. Okay. I mean, that was a gimme for me. it's just, oh my God, it was just, it was just cool. It was a cool watch. And when I watched it when I was younger, like it was just, it was just a fun watch. And anytime I watch it, it takes me back to when I was younger watching it at the community. Cause I'm pretty sure we watched it at the community center. Yeah. Multiple times. Yeah. Once or twice. Multiple times that thing was on. And that's what it takes me back to. So, so there's that. Um, the other one that I liked and, um, It's not a huge favorite for a lot of people though. 47 Ronin.
UNKNOWN:Okay.
SPEAKER_00:I absolutely love that movie. From
SPEAKER_01:start
SPEAKER_00:to finish. I also love Summarize. It was just, again, I enjoyed it. I liked it. I thought the story was good. Some could say it was kind of cliche. They kind of seen it happening. I think that was the biggest complaint of it. It is what it is. I also like the other actors and actresses that were in it as well. For the third one, and this is where I'm torn. I'm torn between Matrix? Okay. No, we can't say Matrix. We can say Matrix. We can't say John Wick. Oh, okay. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Go ahead. You're good. You're good. I'm torn between Matrix because when that came out, I mean, that was way ahead of its time. Yep. I mean, that created a motion sequence that has been used and replicated in many, many, many, many, many, many, many things afterwards. So, like, that alone is fucking dope in Can I interject? Just briefly. The first movie to ever use what is called bullet time, which is what Matrix was known for, and famous for was not the matrix it was right i do yes i do know i do know that but because like you said though it was used in blade but it was it was highly recognized in matrix and i think and i if i'm not mistaken the the bullet time was a split wasn't it a one bullet when he split the bullet with the sword No, it's when he was in the park with Deacon, and he was shooting at him, and Deacon was dodging the bullets, and you could see the bullets. Yes. Okay, okay, okay. Okay, you're right. But Matrix was publicized for that. And I wonder why, though. Was it because Matrix was just a bigger movie overall? I don't know. I have no idea. I'm just saying, like, I'm such a movie nerd. Back in the day, I would you I would watch a movie like on DVD and then I would watch the DVD with the arm like creators commentary What we're doing here, this will be this And stuff like that, so that's how I know that you know, that's very cool So I'm torn between the matrix and then I'm and then the replacements.
UNKNOWN:I
SPEAKER_00:Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one. For sure. So... That one's just fun. Right. And it's football. It's football. Like, come on. It's football! It's football! You know what? See, Ray, you suck. Yeah. In sake of, because it's becoming football season, I'm going to have to put the replacements as my top three. And then, yes, and I do have an honorable mention, and I shouldn't even be an honorable mention, it's my favorite guest appearance or a cameo by him is Always Be My Maybe. I've never seen that. I'm sorry. I can't comment. Okay, so... What I like about this movie is that, like, you got this guy who's probably about my age, and he's, like, old school hip-hop head kind of guy. They play, like, old school hip-hop classics throughout this entire movie, and he ends up, like... it ends up like when an ex-girlfriend comes into town and he's dating someone and she's fucking crazy as fuck and then Keanu Reeves pop up out of nowhere and it's just like what the fuck and then like the whole sequence the whole sequence after he pops up he's only in the movie for like Maybe 15 minutes. But that whole sequence is fucking hilarious. And you're just like, what the fuck? Is this really happening? Because it's a movie that you would not expect to see him in. And then when you see him, it just throws a curveball through. If you've not seen it, Jay, or Templeton, and you got Netflix... Watch Always Be My Maybe. I'm going to do that because You will fucking enjoy it. I've not seen that movie and that exact thing happened to me like three springs ago. Oh, dude, I'm telling you. Yeah, you will watch this thing and you'll be like, oh my god, this is fucking Emily watched it and I walked in on it like midway through it and she has a habit of just turning on random shit on Netflix. The wifey. Yeah, Mrs. Yeti. Oh, Mrs. Yeti. Okay. You got to use the right name. Oh. What did I say? He didn't know. He didn't know. He didn't know. He didn't know. I got you. I got you. I got you. I'm like, wait, what? I'm like, did I say the wrong name? Fuck. This is recorded. He just didn't know. He just didn't know. He didn't know. He didn't know. So, but yeah. Okay. No, that's it. That's a solid list. It's a solid top three there. So, Table 10. What do you got for us? Your favorite Keanu Reeves movies that cannot be John Wick. One, two, three. Sure. Question, question, question. Yes. First movie. Constantine. That's the fucking dope-ass movie. I love that goddamn movie. I know that Constantine was a comic book character, Marvel, prior to the movie being made. A lot of people hate on that movie because the original Constantine is British and blonde. and all that shit, but I fucking love that movie. Yeah, I think it was a combination of a lot of actors in that movie for me. There was. Who you call it? Who played Lucifer in that one? I can't remember the guy's name, but he played the best version of Lucifer. He was so good. And he didn't even have a lot of screen time. That's the crazy part. Maybe like three minutes. Yeah, it was like the final part of the movie. And you're like, oh my God, I want to see more of you. But... So many people hate on that movie because Constantine is a comic book character. Yes. John Constantine. Yep. And you know comic nerds. Yeah. They are impossible to make happy. Purists. Yep, purists. Impossible to make happy. It's just, I don't get it. I
SPEAKER_01:didn't know who Constantine was
SPEAKER_00:before
SPEAKER_01:I saw that movie.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I'm a comic guy. I fucking love that movie. I love Constantine. I didn't... Shia LaBeouf was in it? Yes. Have you not seen Constantine? No, I have. It's just been really, really long. I kind of want to watch Constantine now. I do. I kind of want to turn it in. You're talking about who played Satan? Peter... Peter something. Peter Sturmeyer. Yeah. Again, He only had like three minutes in the whole movie, but he stole that
SPEAKER_01:moment.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah,
SPEAKER_00:he stole it. I love that goddamn movie. All right. I know. I'm like... So many people are like, oh, he's not blind. He's not British. Okay. I get it. But does that change the narrative of the fucking movie? Right. It's still Keanu Reeves, you know? Yeah. Number two.
UNKNOWN:Speed.
SPEAKER_00:Speed. Okay. I think Speed's going to make the list on all three of us. Speed is solid. Speed is solid. It is a fucking solid choice, man. I don't know anyone who would not not pick fucking Speed. Speed is solid. Yeah, I mean, it's Speed. They made three fucking movies and he was only in the first. Goddamn one. I know. And that's the only one that matters, dude. That's the only one that matters. Yeah, honestly. They tried to duplicate it, and it just couldn't be duplicated. Well, they tried to do... Because didn't they do one on, like, on a boat or something like that? Yeah, that was Speed 2, Cruise Control. They tried to fucking do a boat, and I'm like, get out of here. Nah. It's the same. It's the same. It's not. Ain't nobody going to do this goddamn boat. Yeah, nobody gives a shit. Like, here's the thing. Well, what... Like, to be honest, like, if someone's like, hey, there's a bomb on a boat. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry about your luck. There's only going to be one or two people. Sorry, but on a bus? No, I feel Yeti. I feel Yeti. It didn't hit the same. No, it's not. You're in open water. What the fuck? You guys got to be ready for number three. Go for it, bro. I have a feeling it's going to be left field on this. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Okay. No, I'm good with that because that was... All the Bill and Ted movies are just... They're so out in left field that they're... They're just goofy as fuck. Y'all ready for a hot take? Oh, boy. Oh, goddammit. I don't think I've ever seen a Bill and Ted. What'd you just say? I
SPEAKER_01:don't
SPEAKER_00:think I've ever seen a Bill and Ted. I'm gonna hate. Yeti, you said you haven't seen a Bill and Ted? I don't think I have, bro. It's not a hot take. It's just shocking. How have you not seen one Bill and Ted, man? So, like, I feel like I've seen, like, snippets of it. Like, I've walked into a room and someone had it on. But I've never, like, sat down and watched it from the beginning to the end. Like, another movie that I will not watch is Napoleon Dynamite. What? Wait, wait, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. He said, I will not watch. He refuses to watch Bill and Ted. Okay, I don't refuse. That's how you worded it. Okay, my apologies. I have no interest. Good catch, Templeton. I have no interest. That is a good catch. I just haven't had the interest. It doesn't pique me. Listen, the two movies that you named are two of the best movies that have ever existed in our lives. Yeah. Napoleon Dynamite, it took a while. I still don't get the humor. I mean, I get the humor. I still just don't understand the point of the movie. But it's fucking great. It is great. Jay. Yes. My whole takeaway from Napoleon Dynamite is that is an average semester. Yeah. In high school. In high school. Napoleon, can you give us a It doesn't need to have a point. It doesn't need to have a plot. These are the cool kids. These are not cool kids. And these are how they interact with each other. For a semester. But... But... Bill and Ted... Like... Do you think there would be a Back to the Future if there wasn't a Bill and Ted? Probably not. And probably not a Dude, Where's My Car. Yeah, for sure. I feel like Bill and Ted was like the original Dude, Where's My Car. Thousand percent. Yeah. I feel like Dude Wears My Car took a lot of inspiration from Bill and Ted. Let me ask you a second question. Can you name the actors who played Bill and who played Ted? In the movie? Yeah, Keanu Reeves. Well, that's one. That's 50% of the way there. I don't remember old dude's name, the white dude with the curly hair. That's exactly my point. We're talking
SPEAKER_01:about Keanu Reeves movies. I
SPEAKER_00:don't even know dude's name. Alex Winter. Alex Winter? What happened to him then? He was in The Lost Boys and nothing else. What? Really? Yes. Damn. So my dude literally only had a small stint in Hollywood. Oh, he's been in stuff. I mean, he's been in stuff, but have you gone out of your way to watch it? I'm looking at his list of movies and I'm trying to see if I've seen anything. Name those movies and name how many of those movies have you heard about or care about? We're going to go ahead and say he has not watched anything else. He hasn't watched Bill and Ted, so I'm going to go ahead and say he hasn't seen anything that Alex Winter's in. I can guarantee it. I didn't even know the guy's name, so I wouldn't know. Okay, let's go back to the top of here. Yeah, I wouldn't even know. Now, I might... It is possible... That there might be some stuff that I've seen. Freaked. I've seen The Lost Boys. I mean, you definitely probably have seen movies. I'm not going to say nobody has seen any movies. He's been in a lot of Ben 10 movies. I was going to say, I can't say that nobody has been in any movies. They made a new Bill and Ted movie? Bitch, fuck up. Shut up. Fuck off. Both of those things. All of it. All of it. I didn't know they made another Bill and Ted Face the Music in 2020. My point is like Nobody can say that Alex Winter has not been in any movies, TV shows, or voiceovers over the years. But there's nothing that he's been in. Oh, that's Alex Winter. Yeah. No, I'm picking up what you're laying down. I'm smelling what you're stepping in. Apparently, he's in Smurfs, the 2025 movie, Smurfs. I guess he loaned his voice to them. Yeah, but I'm not going to remember that. I don't know what Smurf he played. I don't even think I watched that. smurf but I mean obviously he's still active it's just the one person that stood out in Bill and Ted really that had a very successful I guess Hollywood run is Keanu Reeves I mean he's been everywhere
SPEAKER_01:there's another person
SPEAKER_00:who George Carlin. Oh, George Carlin. Rufus. Yeah, he was big, though. He was Rufus. Yeah, he was big. George Carlin was big. I mean, he obviously did more stand-up. Yeah, yeah. He was never like an actor-actor. He was always a stand-up person. Right. To say that he didn't have a significance is... false no no no that true true i'm just saying as far as like hollywood films keanu reeves is like i mean he's the one name that sticks out the most And I think what also helps his name stick out the most from the movies is just he's low-key a cool guy. If you read all the fucking headlines, it's always something positive. It's never anything bad. Yeah, he's genuinely a good dude. You keep the wholesome name of Ken Reeves, so when you see it, it just sticks with you because of what you've read about him and you've seen about him. Right. Yeah, yeah. I can get down with that. Okay, well, again, Templeton, good list. That's a solid list. Good list. Good list. So, last and certainly not least, I guess, who's ready for my... I bet you all three of yours are completely different than what we said. You think so? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So you want me to go three to one? I bet you it doesn't matter, but I bet you have a voiceover in there. Okay, I'm going three to one. You got a voiceover and it's number one. Number three, point break. Yeah, solid. Solid as fuck. Yeah. Yeah, solid as fuck. Point breaks are good. Yeah, point breaks are good. It's fucking dope, dude. That was, I mean, again, it was easy for me to do this. To me, that was like the first Fast and the Furious. Yes. Honestly, it was. It honestly was. Because it was just seeing him. So, again, it kind of goes into the whole Matrix thing where he's just like, whoa, where he's monotone. But the Bill and Ted thing as well, though, he kind of mixed the two right like because he had to be a surfer right he had to be a he had to go undercover as a surfer and he's just kind of like whoa dude like totally that's totally cool that's crazy and i'm like that just sticks out in my head whenever i think of keanu reeves because i watched point break a lot back in the day i honestly did any chance i got i watched it it was a great keanu reeves movie it's a great patrick swayze movie so it's like right it was it was solid you know what i mean so uh but that that would be number three what's up i would say i I have seen it, but as far as Keanu and Patrick, that's my least of the three that I have actually watched. Really? That's interesting. That's fair. That's fair. But yeah, I would definitely say watch it. Just give it another go and dive in and be like, yo, Keanu Reeves out here just being a surfer guy. Right, exactly. And like I said, it definitely feels like the first Fast and the Furious movie. It does. It does. It kind of feels like Fast and the Furious kind of pulled a lot of inspiration from Point Break. If you watch them side by side, it's identical. Almost. They run very parallel. They honestly do. They run parallel. Because the ending almost ends the same exact way. He lets Dom go in the car, gets him his 10-second car back, and Keanu Reeves' character is like, let me get my last wave in. He's like, go ahead. But he disappears. Nobody knows where he went. Nobody knows if he's dead, alive, anything. He's just,
SPEAKER_01:bingo.
SPEAKER_00:See ya! So it's like they have very big parallels. But you might be on to something. You might be on to something. There's a conspiracy theory there. You might be on to something. So number two for me, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Yeah, that's dope. That was a good one. It's been a while since I've seen it, but yes, that's a good one. That was a good one. I have not seen that one. Really? With Keanu Reeves? You haven't seen that one? You haven't seen that version? Nope. I highly suggest watching it. Do not, I repeat, do not watch the new one they just released on Amazon with Ice Cube. Did you watch it? No, I haven't. It was awful. That's why I haven't watched it. It was awful. It has 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's trash. I was watching it and I was like, what was Ice Cube thinking? When they came out. You need to do this. Like, was he like, yeah, absolutely. Cause here's the thing. Ice Cube has done movies and they, they were what they were like, are we there yet? Are we there yet to whatever? So obviously he did his back in the day with what boys in the hood or whatever the fuck it was. So it's like his problem acting is in my, in my opinion, it's the earlier shit. I think around, around Anaconda, a little after you can include the Fridays, include the Fridays, the Anaconda after that. That's his, yeah, that's Pete Ice Cube. After that, it was like, yeah, he kind of fell off. Because, there's snakes out there, it is Pete! Like, yes, Ice Cube, there is. Yeah. So, but yeah, Dave DeArista still, watch the Keanu Reeves one, not the Ice Cube one. You will not be disappointed. So, number one for me, and I quote, I randomly throw this quote out here, often. There's a quote in this movie that I randomly throw out often, and no Nobody gets the reference and it pisses me off. But Street Kings. I watched and I could not. I've seen it, and I was like, I know I've seen it, but I can't remember it. Isn't it pretty fucking gritty? It's very gritty. I love it. I don't remember if it was hot off the heels of Training Day, because it was around the time the corrupt cop thing was at its peak, and Street Kings came out with Keanu Reeves, Chris Evans, he was in that movie, he was his partner, and Forrest Whitaker, he was the captain. That's right, he He was the captain, wasn't he? Yes, he was. Common was in it as well. Yep. He played a gangster informant kind of deal, but you don't really know until they have this whole thing. But Street Kings was one of my favorites. But the one part of the movie that I quote often, that nobody gets the fucking reference to, Keanu Reeves' character is like, him and Chris Evans, they're going to go question this group of people, right? And they just pull up in the neighborhood, and they get out of his car, which which is where I fell in love with the Chargers because he had the black Charger as his unit, as his cruiser. Loved it. Loved it. I was like, oh, I want one just like that. But they just pull up. He gets out, and they're like, so where do we start? And Keanu Reeves just sees this group of Hispanics just sitting on the porch. He's like, you see those yahoos over there? And he's like, yeah. He's like, I'm going to go jam them. And Chris Evans is looking at him. He's like, you bored or something? Yeah. i'm gonna go jam him and he's like you bored or something and he just walks out there and i'm like dude that's wild that's wild behavior so i just goes out there and fucks with him i'm like really middle of the night probably not the best neighborhood and you two are the only you ain't got no backup it's just you two right right right i was like what but i quote that often because i'm literally like i just see a group of people i'm like you see those yahoos over there yeah i'm and nobody knows nobody knows what i'm talking about it's fucking random though it's fucking random it is absolutely random but it's like yeah if you've seen street kings you know what i'm talking about but it was a solid movie honestly um i obviously if it was if i'm not mistaken i'm pretty sure it came out around the time of training day so obviously it got overshadowed by denzel and that performance so um but of course it was all about police corruption everything like that but i watched it quite often Again, another movie that anytime it was on, I watched it. I stopped down and I'm like, ooh, Street Kings is on. Let me watch this. It was really good. So if you ever do get a chance, if you haven't seen Street Kings, take a look at it. Again, Keanu Reeves has had a lot of... A lot of work out there. So it's like, go out there, take a look. He's not just John Wick. We do know him now as John Wick. And he will always be John Wick. 100%. If we were to allow you to say John Wick, would your top three change? You don't need to explain. You don't need to say where you're going to put it. Just a simple yes or no. Probably. Probably. Probably. Yeah, if I could include John Wick, yes, it would change. Templeton?
SPEAKER_01:It would not
SPEAKER_00:change. Really? That's interesting. It is interesting. My number one was still the same. I got you. I got you. For me... It would change. Yeah, it would change. I would probably, and I'd probably go off to say, was it John Wick 4? I think it might have been 4. When it falls down the stairs? Yes, that was the last one we thought of. No, no, no, because it was a very unique way to film this, but I'm pretty sure it's when he had the Dragon's Breath shotgun. And he was going through all those rooms. And they had the bird's eye view, like the top down, where it was going from room to room. And you were just seeing the flames just fly out, just hitting everybody. And he was just going ham on everybody. That was one of my favorite shots. And that entire sequence, I was like, this is one of the best John Wicks ever. All right. So real quick, there's a movie on Netflix. It's called Freelance. Did you watch it at all? I don't know. I don't think so. So it's a John scene is in it. And the opening scene is a helicopter scene and it's him falling out of the helicopter and it's shot. Cause you said it's an amazing point of view. It's shot from a helmet cam. That's interesting. Yeah, that is interesting. That is interesting. I think I have it on my list. I'm pretty sure. It was the opening scene. I haven't watched it all I watched, but the opening scene when I was like, I'll have to run that back. And I actually did run it back. I actually rewound it. I was like, cause it was unique and I had not seen it to my knowledge. Yeah. See, and I, and I like, I like when they, when they get creative with shots like that, when they can pull a sequence off that you like, not really seen. I think, I think so. Like for, I know off topic, but yeah, I think where I started falling in love with sequences like that, that you don't see a lot of, is Ong Bak 2, which is a Tony Jaa movie. Right. Bro, the last 45 minutes of that film, when he is literally fighting literally everybody and their grandmother on this tiered thing, like a bunch of walkways and stuff, it was one of the greatest sequences ever shot. and probably one of the for me personally one of like the top fighting sequences the choreography was unbelievable and by the time it was over that sequence ended I was like I'm tired for him like I felt like I went through that whole entire fight with him so it's like seeing stuff like that love it it's dope and if more like more movies and Hollywood could do more stuff like that, that'd be fantastic. If they can get really creative with shots like that, you got me. You got me hooked. But there you have it. Those are some of our favorite Keanu Reeves movies that do not include John Wick. Let us know what yours are, or if you have one. I gotcha. But for now, we'll wrap this up real quick. We'll do fun and games. We'll do a quick one. Just tell me who wins Sabretooth or Kraven the Hunter with 24 hours of prep time? Both of them have 24 hours of prep time. Sabretooth or Kraven the Hunter? Kraven or Sabretooth. They're different universes. They probably have met in comics, but they normally wouldn't meet because that's Spider-Man and that's X-Men. Um... I think Sabretooth takes it. Okay. I would have to agree. I'd give the edge to Sabretooth. Here's the thing, though. It ain't going to be no fucking walk on the park. Hell no. It'll be a fight I would like to see. Yeah, yeah, 100%. I think that'd be a fun one. I think that'd be a fun watch. The only reason why I give it to Sabretooth is because he fucks with Wolverine. And I put Wolverine as a stronger character than Kraven. That's the only reason why That's it. And Sabretooth fucks with Wolverine just for funsies. So it's like. On the daily. On the daily. Just because he's fucking bored. So it's like. Yeah. Like he calls him like, hey, what are you doing, bitch? Like. Yeah. All right. All right. See you later. So. Yeah. I know. I know you got to wrap it up. If you want to go ahead and jump off, you can. All I'm going to do is give the fun fact and plug our episode and wrap it up. All right. But. Oh, yeah. Sounds good. I'll holler at you guys. Peace out, bitches. Yeah. damn damn all right all right dude go take go take care of your baby yeah so while yeti does that i will go ahead and just give y'all a fun fact and since it's just me up in here now um did you know That you don't like the sound of your own voice because of the bones in your head. I don't have anybody to share this information with except for the people that are listening right now. So I'm going to give you a little bit of reasoning as to why you dislike your own voice due to the bones in your head. Just give me a moment. Pulling up here. So why do we hate the sound of our own voices? Don't worry. It's not just your singing that's the problem. Most of us are happy with our voice until we hear it recorded. One reason is that our recorded voice sounds higher pitched than we're used to. This is because we usually hear our voice in part as it's conducted through the bones in our head, which makes it sound deeper. Another reason is that when we hear a recording of our voice, we scrutinize ourselves as we would others, and we're surprised and discomforted by just how much we think we're giving away in terms of our personality. So there you have it. Wanted to give a quick one. Don't like the sound of your own voice because of the bones in your head. It's the vibrations off of the bones in your head. I don't know. Maybe pay a little bit more attention to your voice. It may not be as bad as you think it is. You know what I mean? With that, Yeti already said peace out, bitches. We'll wrap this up. Put a pretty little bow on it. Templeton, I don't know where you went. Probably fell asleep. Maybe. Probably. I don't know. We'll see. Just a quick reminder. Magic Mind.
