Text Us Here!

Our first live show didn’t feel like a polished “tour stop” and that’s exactly why it taught us so much. We talk through the nerves, the wins, the awkward moments, and the real fixes we’re making for the next live podcast recording, from using the venue PA to better signage, tighter mic technique, and smarter ways to pull strangers into trivia without making it weird. If you’re into live podcast production, audio setup, or just love hearing how the sausage gets made, this debrief is packed with practical takeaways.

Then we swing into entertainment news and culture talk: Drake dropping three albums at once, the UMG lawsuit chatter, and why volume doesn’t automatically equal impact. We argue about replay value, the Kendrick Lamar beef shadow, and what makes hip hop lyrics stick for a decade while other songs disappear in a week. It turns into a bigger conversation about artistry, ego, and whether “numbers” can ever prove quality.

We also hit Netflix MMA, including the absurdly fast Ronda Rousey finish, plus a wild detour into the “adult accident” debate and an AITA about traveling to NYC alone when family backs out. Expect stories, jokes, and a few unexpectedly solid life rules about deadlines, boundaries, and just going anyway.

Cold Open And Chaos

SPEAKER_10

Is this thing on? Welcome welcome everyone. Everyone everyone. Come come coming to you.

unknown

Coming to you.

SPEAKER_10

OLR OLR OLR Studios. This is FMJ. This is FMJ. The FMJ. The FMJ podcast.

SPEAKER_08

I'm outside with my gang gang. No?

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I don't listen to shitty rap, Yeti.

SPEAKER_08

It's not shitty rap, it's kind of catchy. It's kinda catchy.

SPEAKER_04

That's crazy. I don't know what I walked into. So anyway, um. Are we ready? Is everybody ready?

SPEAKER_02

The first one of you guys that calls me Freddy is getting punched in the eye.

SPEAKER_08

Are we ready?

SPEAKER_02

Are we ready, Freddy?

SPEAKER_08

Who called you Freddy? None of us called you Freddy.

SPEAKER_02

Fredrickson.

SPEAKER_04

Are we ready, Freddy?

SPEAKER_02

You don't I like Frederickson. That works.

SPEAKER_04

Huh? Are we ready, Freddy? Ready as a Yeti, Freddy?

SPEAKER_02

You only have like two eyes. I can only punch you so many times.

SPEAKER_04

Are we ready, Freddy? Are we ready, Freddy? Huh? Huh? Huh? Are we ready, Freddy? Technically I have four. You can punch him in all four of them. At the same damn time! So we good? Are we ready? Boom, boom, boom, boom.

SPEAKER_02

Is everybody ready? I'm pretty ready. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well, ready or not, without further ado. Welcome back to another beautiful episode of the FMJ podcast where we make all of your wildest fantasies come true. I'm just kidding, we don't do that. Unless you stay up real late and you call Grizz on the phone and whisper sweet nothings into his ear.

SPEAKER_05

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Put him to sleep. Put him to sleep. Yeah, you could top it off of that too.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Can I get a high?

SPEAKER_08

He's like, ah, that's it. He's got our voices on tape recorder and he just plays them.

SPEAKER_04

That's his that's his favorite. That's his favorite little catchphrase.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's my white white noise machine.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_09

Look at faster.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway.

SPEAKER_06

We lost the plot so quick.

SPEAKER_04

So fast. We're not even 30 seconds in. Never mind so I told you guys.

SPEAKER_08

I'm fucking spot happy. This is gonna be a great fucking episode.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Anyway.

SPEAKER_08

I should just mute my mic now.

SPEAKER_03

No, don't do that. Let's let's go around the room and check everybody's pulse.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. How about you know what? You know what? Let's start with Grizz. Yeah, all right.

SPEAKER_05

Lift off, baby. Um yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. That's so funny. Uh I'm doing good. I am I'm managing.

Tough News And Finding Meaning

SPEAKER_05

I found out some tough news about my dog recently. Um I don't want to be the sad BS bullshit, but uh yeah, my dog's sick.

SPEAKER_02

And uh that shit matters, man.

SPEAKER_05

It yeah, it does. And I'm gonna be okay. Uh she's 14. I've had her for 14 years. Um she she and I are, you know, we're just gonna ride this train out. See where it goes. And uh honestly, she's fine right now. Uh I think I caught I caught the big C early enough that we can manage it well instead of like finding out later. Like the result would be the same, but at least now I have time with her versus like, hey, you need to make a choice. Are you gonna put her down or whatever?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So I I feel grateful that I have time. Um and the irony is I also don't have time.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Um but I'm choosing to be positive as much as I can, and I'm funny enough, working on a comic book that deals with grief, so fuck you, universe. Um you know, like um it's like yeah, I wanted to do this comic book, but I didn't want to do it like this. Yeah, too soon, too soon, yeah. Right, right. But but honestly, maybe maybe right on time, right? Maybe because maybe this is for me above all.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um, and maybe I'm making it like I was making it for me, but maybe I'm like really making it for me now.

SPEAKER_04

For sure, man, for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Because that's that's like maybe that'll be the thing that helps me carry it, right? Yep. So but enough heavy shit. Let's get stronger so we can move it out of the way.

SPEAKER_04

I whip these guns out for you, bro. That's right, because we broke.

SPEAKER_03

We broke gang. Do you gang bang?

SPEAKER_04

Well, that is that is supposed. That is tough news, Grizz. We uh we are very sorry to hear that. Our condolences and hopefully, hopefully she has she gets to you know finish her life with a big old exclamation point. You know what I'm saying? Like you can make that happen for her. So um good facts. Yeah, good energy and well wishes to you. Um but other than that, uh, moving on to Templeton. What's up? Was that a bird?

SPEAKER_09

That was a bird. Who's outside? Who's outside with the gang?

SPEAKER_04

Templeton's literally, he's just walking in the woods like it's a nice fucking day out here.

SPEAKER_02

Like I have my front door open to like for like ventilation and shit, and there's birds everywhere. I got respect. That was a literal bird.

SPEAKER_04

I'd have never thought about that. Just walking through the woods doing the fucking podcast. It's like, yeah, you know, so you know, I'm out here in the woods. Look at these trees. What's up, Chris?

SPEAKER_05

Can I add one thing before we jump to Templeton? Sure.

The Hotel Bird Rescue Story

SPEAKER_05

Um, speaking of little birds, uh-oh. I saved a little bird at the hotel I work at the other day. Did you go? No, no, no, no.

unknown

Yeti. No.

SPEAKER_09

Uh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The bird was just carry out, he was he was stuck in the basement, and it took me a couple hours, and I gave up at one point and was like, fine, you're just gonna die in here. I like went to lunch and like was trying to do other shit, and I was like, all right, I'll try again. So then I I went back into the garage area or the shop, and I saw where he flew in, but there was no way he could get out because it was like a backdraft.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And um, yeah, I finally I he got exhausted, which made me feel bad, but I was like, I gotta wear this bird out so he stops flying. And then he's gonna stop, Yeti. Let him finish. I gave him mouth to mouth. Oh yeah, no, no, I I was trying to get him to like jump on the the uh uh broomstick, but he just kept like flying away. Um so he he landed on a shelf and I like slowly, slowly like got my hands in there, and I just like whoop and I like picked him up in my I cupped him in my hands and he was like he started screaming and biting my knuckles and shit.

SPEAKER_06

I was like, yo, I'm trying to save your life, dude.

SPEAKER_05

Really be the really be the hands that save you, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's like, no, I don't need any savings. He's like, I am literally I'm a I'm a strong independent bird, I can get out of here by myself. It's like, no, you can't. Let me help you. No, you can't, please. Let me help you. Just let me help you. Just let it happen.

SPEAKER_05

And then I got him outside and he blew away. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_08

I like that. I just need to back it up. So you said he was jumping on something. What was he jumping on?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, Templeton, can you give us your your your pulse? Can we get your pulse real quick before Yeti decides to derail us once again?

SPEAKER_02

I don't I don't know. Like maybe, maybe, maybe 80.

SPEAKER_04

80? You a little stressed today? Or it's probably it's probably due to the walk-in nature that you're doing.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, seriously.

SPEAKER_04

Uh nothing? Nothing. I uh okay, fine. Hang on. Wait, wait, wait. Oh the joke. Oh, did did I need to do a did I need to do a no, I thought you were gonna do the oh, he's all tuckered out. No, no, no, he's not tired of me yet. But other than that, Teblet, you got anything new?

SPEAKER_02

Anything No buddy man, just working and being a human 80. That's cool.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, fair enough. Fair enough. Uh Kate Yeti.

SPEAKER_08

You rang.

SPEAKER_04

Please don't bring up the broomstick. What does your pulse look like? Don't fucking jazzed right.

SPEAKER_02

You broke your mic. Yeah, he definitely. That's how jazzed he is.

SPEAKER_04

That's how jazz he is.

SPEAKER_05

That we can't hear you. Yo, that was the universe censoring whatever fuck shit he had to do. Exactly. The universe said, hey, don't mind him.

SPEAKER_09

I'm back, bitches.

SPEAKER_03

I'm back, bitches.

SPEAKER_09

I'm so fucking jazzed. Let's fucking go. Okay. So what does your post look like?

SPEAKER_08

It's like 200.

SPEAKER_09

Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_08

Jesus Christ. Brother, I would pass out. Dude, I'm so fucking. I think I'm in the basement. I'm fucking sweating down here. No, I'm just running over there. It's fucking hot because I'm hot as fuck.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, I was like 80, and people are like, oh, that's that's kind of high. That's that's weird. And he's like, oh no, it's 200.

SPEAKER_08

Like, Lord have mercy. I just no. My daughter decided to wake up at 6 a.m. today. And then when she woke up today, she decided it was oh, guess what? Playtime. So she decided to play. And now we're doing the podcast. And she's upstairs sleeping now, taking a little nap that daddy doesn't get to do because I'm doing a podcast. And here I am. Jazz.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So what I'm hearing is daddy wants this wants this episode to end really fast so he can go upstairs and go.

SPEAKER_08

No, I'm fucking pumped because the moment I go upstairs, she's gonna be wide awake and she's gonna look at me and be like, hey daddy, it's fucking playtime. I'm like, oh, you got to take a little nap, didn't you? While Daddy had to do some work.

SPEAKER_02

I just want to ask though, when have any of our episodes ever ended really fast?

SPEAKER_04

Um we had a few. We've we've had a we've had a few that were like we've had a couple just under like what we just under what we wanted. Just under six hours. No, we've had we've had a we've had a few that were that ended pretty quickly. We've had one that was I think was like an hour and twenty, and I was like, damn, we got we got through that pretty damn fast. So yeah, we've we've had we've had a few short ones, but for the most part, I mean two-ish hours, something like that. So I try to keep it there. I do my best. But other than that, is that it, Yeti? You're just super jazzed because you're tired and a little bit, but I mean, I don't know.

SPEAKER_08

I don't know what else is going on in my life. Oh, my my wife won tick is to the taco festival yesterday.

SPEAKER_04

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_08

But we didn't go because it was fucking raining.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was it's rained a lot.

SPEAKER_08

We had the little one, so like we didn't want to do all that. So we missed out on that, but we did go shopping because we're going to a wedding on Friday. You're going to a wedding?

SPEAKER_05

Who's getting Murray?

SPEAKER_08

Yes. Uh her coworker is, so they're closing up shop early there. So she's gonna go do that. And yeah, that should be.

SPEAKER_05

Any excuse for free food is a good excuse.

SPEAKER_08

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Augusta, Georgia?

SPEAKER_08

No, Augusta down the street, Augusta, Kentucky.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I was like Oh, that's gonna be pretty. Yeah, that's along the river, yeah. Yeah, 100%. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Or is Augusta up from the river? I can't remember. Uh, either or. Okay, word.

SPEAKER_04

Same, same, but different. Well, that's that's that's I just know it's in that direction.

SPEAKER_05

It's out the double A, right? Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I just I just automatically I just automatically assumed Augusta, Georgia, and I was like, what a trip for you on Friday. Have fun. But Augusta, Kentucky. Okay, well, you know, hey, enjoy, eat up all the food, open bar or no. I know

Wedding Fit Debate And Suit Talk

SPEAKER_04

nothing. Okay, so here's a question.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, here's a question. So she's got like a light colored dress, and obviously, like I never wear light colors because I like to hold hide my fat, you know, with the with the black suit and everything. Um, but anyway, so I got a light colored shirt. It's like a it's like a it's a light blue almost borderline lavender, like a really light la lavender as well.

SPEAKER_04

Lavender.

SPEAKER_08

Um, pretty dope tie. It's got a little pink in it. It's it's pretty dope. It's pretty cool. Now I have a lot of. Spring colors? I got a lot, I got a black suit. I've been contemplating if I should go spend a little bit more money and get a tan suit.

SPEAKER_03

Tan.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know what? Get the tan suit. I don't hate tan. Get the tan suit.

SPEAKER_08

I know, right? I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Just get the tan suit, bro.

SPEAKER_06

Just get the tan suit.

SPEAKER_04

Like, you only look at the Where would you go? YOLO. Where would you go? Where would you go?

SPEAKER_05

Where would you go?

SPEAKER_04

Men's big.

SPEAKER_08

What do you mean by like what what store? Why big and tall, Jay? Because emphasis on the big?

SPEAKER_04

Huh? No, tall. No, because you're like tall. You're like six foot three or something like that. You're like six, seven. Why are you like moving away? For the joke. For the joke.

SPEAKER_05

I have no drones back. Nice. I used to like to go to um K and G to get suits when I was a teenager growing up in church. That was my only thing I liked about going to church. I shouldn't say only, but one of the things I liked about going to church as a teenager was like wearing nice clothes and like wearing suits and shit.

SPEAKER_08

Where'd you go?

SPEAKER_05

Because I felt special. Hell yeah. A navy suit would be dope. You got to dress all dapper. Look at me. Yeah, dude. With my pocket square, my bow ties. Dude, pocket protectors. I remember I was probably like 17, maybe 18. I taught myself how to tie a bow tie, like for real.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Just so at the end of service, like when they would do like the worship and everyone's dancing and losing their shit and pretending to talk to God. Um Jesus! People, people would loosen their ties because they're having a good time and shit. And I would like I would undo the bow tie, and then like they would both drip down on either side, and I was like, I'm fucking cool. Yeah, I was not cool.

SPEAKER_04

No, you were cool. No, you were. You definitely were. Everybody wishes they had the amount of swag that Grizz had at that time.

SPEAKER_05

I you know what? That was a misplaced swag.

SPEAKER_04

Nah, Grizz got the drip. Grizz got the drip, and everybody was jealous. So, but that sounds like everybody's doing good. Um, no complaints, but that's awesome. I'm I'm I'm glad to hear

Drake’s Three Albums And The Deal

SPEAKER_04

that. So we'll move on to some entertainment news. We're gonna talk about some obvious shit and some kind of obvious shit. Aubrey Graham dropped three albums on us.

SPEAKER_05

Back to, back to, back to, back.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Uh so Yeah, exactly. Who's that? The artist formerly known as Drake. That's who that's who Aubrey Graham is. Um the the albums that he dropped were Habib T, Iceman, and Maid of Honor. And people are obviously pointing out that, you know, if you do the first letter of each album, it spells him, because Drake is him.

SPEAKER_08

He is not. Well, that's I didn't catch that.

SPEAKER_04

That's that's that's that's what they're that's what they're you know stating, right? So uh that could be though. That could be, that could be, it very well could be. Uh, and then of course there's so many people that are saying it's his way of expediting getting out of his deal with now that I do believe. Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Because isn't he suing umg?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and that that's where I was leading to. I was like, it's interesting because he's in court, right? Suing Umg, which he doesn't diss anybody from Umg, I don't think. But he does go off and he still disses a lot of people, right? And it's like when I first uh heard some of these songs, I didn't listen to every single song on every single album. I have not listened to it from front to back. It was strange to me because I'm like, where was this during the Kendrick beef, right? Like, where was all of this during when you're back and forth with Kendrick Lamar? Instead, you this is the part I this is the part that blows my mind. He he literally threw in a white flag on the heart part six. At the end of that song, he's just talking, right? And he's like, I get it, you got ten songs, blah blah blah, whatever. He's like, you aired this thing out, but whatever, I'm done, I'm not gonna respond, I'm done, I'm done, I'm not gonna respond. And then he takes two years to come up with these I don't know what you want to call them. These three these three pieces of work.

SPEAKER_02

Correct. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's three pieces of work. And that was crazy. You know what I mean? And and he threw in the white flag, but came back and said No, I'm not, I'm actually not done. You know what? I'm actually not done. No, I know what I have to give you a piece of my mind. Buddy, you should have done that two years ago.

SPEAKER_05

He didn't know about Chat GPT two years ago.

SPEAKER_04

I guess not, but it's just it's ironic, it's ironic, right? That that a lot of people, including Aubrey Graham himself, made such a big deal about when he released push-ups, right? Drop, drop, drop, drop, drop. And and everybody made such a big deal. They're like, Kendrick's not responding. Why is it taking him so long to respond? Oh my god. Oh, oh my god, look at this. He's taking so long to respond. Oh, Drake won because Kendrick didn't respond in time. Aubrey disappeared for two years to come up with whatever he came up with. And everybody's like, he won the he won! He won the war! And I'm like, what? Just so we're clear. I I I use this as my example, just so we're clear. We dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan to make them wave the white flag. Not one time did they say, you know what? Nah, nah. We're actually not done. We're gonna come back. Didn't happen. So Aubrey is doing is on some unprecedented, uncharted territory shit. Yeti, I know you listened. Did you listen to all three? Yes and no.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, so like how much of each album did you listen to? So I started off strong with which I feel the first one is because it's the one that got the most push, because it's the one that everybody knew about, which was Iceman.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, I listened to that one. Um there's a couple tracks on there that aren't horrible that I could see myself revisiting if I was bored of what I was currently listening to and just wanted to change it up for some different whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_08

Um, I personally have not been a huge fan of Drake since oh fuck, 15 years ago. No, no, when he first came no when he first came out and he was like that young dude and he was trying to make a name for himself. Like, I don't know. I just I just feel like he had his sounds had purpose back then, I feel like. And now he just I feel like he's gotten into his own head about being the top dog and wanting me to be his top dog. So he tries to make these albums to be the top dog. Where when he first came out, he just wanted to be noticed when he first came out. He his thought wasn't I'm gonna be the best, I am the best. It was I want to make music to be noticed, to be heard of, let's get it.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_08

And I just feel like I just feel like his earlier stuff had more purpose, and and that's just the way I feel. Everyone what what purpose?

SPEAKER_04

I mean, obviously he had to prove himself, right? Like, cause because it is a very competitive sport, as some people would put it.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, but Drake is not hip hop.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not I'm not saying that I'm not saying that he is, but there is there is well, he was heavily influenced by hip hop. Let's let's just let's just start there. Um I think he leaned more R and B, obviously, when he first came out. He leaned more R and B, but then he kind of found a niche in what. People now call rap and bee, where again I give credit where it's due. I'm not gonna sit here and say Aubrey Graham, the artist formerly known as Drake, is untalented. I can't say that. I have to give it give it credit where it's due. He there was some massive influence from what he did with rapping, singing all in the same song by one person, right? He he did it well. He was able to marry those two things up, and it sounded great. And for a while, Drake was the person you wanted as a feature. Like it was and that's when I liked him. Yeah, around that time is when I liked him. Yeah, you know, you know, back when, you know, the uh the uh you know, like a spraying ankle boy, none to play with.

SPEAKER_02

Like that's the Drake that everybody wasn't even the verse, best verse on that song.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not saying that it was, but that it was back then that that that was that was the level of Drake that people were expecting for on these three albums. That's the level of that's the level of Aubrey Graham everybody was expecting because they were expect especially him taking two years to do this. I mean, he pushed it back or whatever because of the I guess because of the lawsuit shit, the the the the the suing that he was doing. I don't know. Um but regardless, you took two years and people were expecting, oh, when when he drops, he's gonna be back, he's gonna be back on top because his party next door album did not do very well. Nope.

SPEAKER_08

It anything that really was the one he did with 21 Savage, right?

SPEAKER_04

Well, well, it was it was with Party Next Door, but tw uh oh my god, which one is it?

SPEAKER_02

Um is that that one that likes cocaine?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think so. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um but the one he did with 21 Savage, I think it was Her Loss or something like that. He did that one, didn't do that great either. Uh for my uh for for all my dogs, didn't do that great. It's like he just he he's been on the decline, right?

SPEAKER_08

Plateaued, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Right. And people were like, okay, can we get back to you know what you're good at? Yeah, what you're good at. And it's funny because there was a song on there that I did listen to, um, Too Hard for the Radio. And in the beginning, like in at the start of the song, I was kind of like, I was like, all right. Like I got old Drake, right? Like exactly like little little like little glimpses of it, and then he did the beat switch, and I was like, Okay, well, you lost me. Right. Right. Like I said, and yeah, he just it's just I think I think there was a different expectation from what was happening. But I mean I seen his I seen what he did. The problem is he dropped 40 fucking songs on everybody, and well, like 34. Still close close to 40 songs, and this guy, like, there's maybe like four or five, maybe six, that you can go back and listen to. That's not a good return on your investment, my dude.

SPEAKER_08

Well, so and then I turn around and I listen to after I listened to Iceman, I listened to uh what is it? Habati.

SPEAKER_04

Habi habibti. Yeah, Habibti.

SPEAKER_08

Which that one, so the so the Iceman album is more of a rap album. Right. Habiti is more of an RB album. But even then, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't it didn't hit. It doesn't yeah, it doesn't it doesn't hit like views did like his views album. I want to say, like as far as as far as RB goes, his views album for me was probably Yeah, it was it was good, it was good. Um, like honestly nevermind was the moment I was like, yo, you have lost me, bro. When he dropped Honestly Nevermind, I was like, no, I'm good. I'll pass.

SPEAKER_08

And then and then I and then I so I I listened to that one and I kinda as I was listening to it, I to be honest, I forgot that I was listening to a Drake album. Yeah, like that's how mediocre to me it sounded.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Um that's how honestly sounds to me. I liked the production value better on Iceman than I did Habidi.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Now what about Maid of Honor? I know you said you started listening to it and then you just kind of like turn it off.

SPEAKER_08

So Maid of Honor is like his It's like a club house house mix club house album. Yeah, I think I got three or four songs into and said, Yeah, I see where you're going with this, and I turned it off. Damn, brutal.

SPEAKER_02

But I get I guess the what's up, what's up, Templeton? I was gonna say I've known you for years and I've never once heard you go he he he he he he he he he he heard.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it it happens every now and then.

SPEAKER_08

Like, I don't know. I don't know. I I think what it is is like I I like like as Jay was saying, like his first few albums, um when he was like like underground trying to be noticed, like that's the Drake that I liked, and I I and I wanted to hear that. And I think what it was is after that beef, I wanted to hear old Drake. I wanted to hear him kind of like redeem himself a little bit. And so when you don't hear that, you kind of feel bad. Like why do you why why'd you release these three? And then you start internet diving, and then you start seeing the conspiracy theories, like, well, he's suing his label, he probably just dropped these three just to get out of his fucking contract because he was he was he owed him three more albums. Yeah, so if I drop three albums and one at one get-go, guess what?

SPEAKER_04

I'm the one fulfilled, yeah, I fulfilled my own me.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, and there's a lot of people thinking that he saved his best stuff for his next album. Which I I mean I I'd be interested to see if that if if if that's what really happened. Because if he comes out with another album in a year, year and a half, and it sounds what we like to sound like we were kind of used to from back in the day, that would be interesting to see, or hear, or whatever. I I'm just gonna like put this out there, and everybody in this group already knows this.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I have never ever been a Drake fan. I think I think he is a mid-lyricist, and I think he rides off the success of people who make beats for him. And that's just me, like people like what they like, they don't like what they don't like. That's fine. Right. Um for him to keep poking and poking and poking at somebody that is like substantially superior to him on the mic, like why?

SPEAKER_08

He he I feel he does take a couple jabs on some in some of his lines and some of these albums. Um, because there's a there's a line where he talks about he's in Oakland doing another show or doing his last show or something of that nature, and it's definitely a a low-key jab at when Kendrick Lamar said Oakland might be your last stop, you know. So he's like, I'm in Oakland, I'm doing another show. Like, what's up? So, like, I mean, I know he's you are right, I think he still throws jabs um toward people that have dissed him. Um I don't know what what will happen off outside of that though. I mean I don't know if people are gonna engage it again or not.

SPEAKER_02

But we're all we're we're all in the age group. We have seen a lot of rap beats. A lot, and I've never seen anybody get bodied as hard as Drake got bodied in this rap beef. Like, ever.

SPEAKER_08

Like it was fun, it was fun, it was it was fun, it was and we and for the record, we went to a Kendra Clemar concert a couple years ago. It was awesome, yeah. It was actually last year. That was awesome.

SPEAKER_04

That was also a very good time. Just that was a great time, just so we're because it was like the peak of all that shit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, basically, I'm just saying like rap and hip hop, there's a lot

Longevity In Rap And What Ages

SPEAKER_02

of categories. It's like rock music. Right. You can't say oh I'm metal, oh I'm contemporary. There's so much rock music. Like there's so much differences between the genres. Right. Um when it comes to hip-hop, like there's hip-hop, there's rap, there's pop, rap, there's there's a lot. Like it's there's a lot you can separate it by.

SPEAKER_05

That's just so interesting because I feel the opposite. I feel like all music is really, really similar, and there's just like subtle nuances that set them set them apart.

SPEAKER_02

You're you're not inclined to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_05

Like they're they're different, but they all have like a a root cousin, if you will. They're all rooted in something.

SPEAKER_02

Jazz correct.

SPEAKER_05

Jazz, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There there are there are differences. There are. There are. Basically what I'm saying is like Drake picked a fight with a lyricist when he should not have.

SPEAKER_04

You're right. True. And and and uh we all we all know why he did it, right? Because I don't think there was really uh depending on how you feel about like the the beef between him and Pusha T, you know what I mean? You is you know, you feel like. Um the the Meek Mill the Meek Mill one where you know he did back to back and all that kind of shit. So um I think his issue was he thought he was untouchable, is what that was. Because he hadn't really gone up against anybody that was going to say for Pusha T honestly. Say for him. He he didn't really go up against anybody that was going to bury him, so to speak, and and really just give him a good run for his money. The way that Kendrick did.

SPEAKER_05

Do you think um like that was because the people like the people he was taking shots at maybe was like, uh I I don't really feel good about putting this person in their place. You know, like almost like a sympathy thing, like aw.

SPEAKER_04

I no, I think Drake, I think Drake just kind of punches down a lot. I think I think he looks I think he looks for fights in in people that he's I'm I'm I won't say I won't say 100%. I'll say he's 99.8% sure I can take them in a fight, right? Like he's he's he's that kind of person. I'm not gonna go into this if it's less than 64% sure I can win this battle because that was the whole idea with Meek Mill. Again, Pusha T his like Pusha T just killed Drake mostly. Like everybody can agree that that Pusha T won that beef, right? Because he had he did like he did like the one thing and Drake never spoke about it again. Like it was he he ran from that shit. He's like, Oh shit, uh let me oh oh my bad. Yeah, he said, he said, Oh damn, you are not who I thought you were. So I think he thought the same thing with Kendrick, still does. I don't know why. Um yeah, uh may maybe it's because of how big he has gotten since then, because unlike with Pusha T, uh, he has not kept it moving. Like with Pusha T, he just kind of kept making music, like he continued to make hits. He didn't speak about it ever again, and that's I think what a lot of people wanted him to do on these albums was get back to making hits, be that artist that you said you've been for so many years, show us why. And then he drops these again three pieces of work that are just here's the thing, and here's the crazy thing like you can go online and people are talking.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, there's a lot of people saying it's not no we're not that great.

SPEAKER_04

No, like like I was gonna uh that was one point I was gonna make was gonna make during this conversation was outside of your typical Drake stands, I've watched a lot of reviews of people like reacting to it, and they have not been positive. There has not been a lot of positive feedback when it comes to, you know, and and people love to base the numbers on you know how great an artist is, and it's like you can't go off numbers. I don't I hate you can't because here's the thing a lot of people are gonna listen to the to those albums. To I mean, you can't listen, you can't try to judge the album, right? You can't judge the album without listening to it. Yeah, correct.

SPEAKER_08

You're gonna get a curiosity play on all three.

SPEAKER_05

You're gonna get plays. Right. You can't count that. That doesn't count. It doesn't count.

SPEAKER_08

And people are gonna people are gonna rewind it to listen to it to like dissect them, and that's how they're getting their counts are people dissecting the lyrics versus and I'm going back into time, pumping it up, I guess. Yeah, like like it's not people driving down like Crenshaw listening to Tupac or Ice Cube or something like that. Yeah, like I I don't see anybody listening to Made of Honor 15 years from now. Nope.

SPEAKER_05

Hell no let alone 15 days from now.

SPEAKER_08

But that's what that's my point that I'm trying to get across. Is I don't think there's a single song on Maid of Honor that anybody will know 15 years from now. Nope.

SPEAKER_04

Again, save for the drinks.

SPEAKER_08

I don't think there's songs on Hibidi that people will know 15 years from now. No.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, can I ask you guys a question? Yes, like the entire group, and this is not like a rat beef song. Tell me the first lyrics to Hail Mary by um Puck.

SPEAKER_04

Like the whole song? I ain't a killer, but they'll push me. Revenge is like the sweetest joint, it's the key and pussy.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Like, that's my point. Like that's your paragraphs and loaded?

SPEAKER_04

Why is where is being posted?

SPEAKER_05

That's what makes rap so good, is it's poetry.

SPEAKER_08

It wasn't a beef song, like he was just telling a story. Right. I think what makes a good song is if people are listening to it 10 plus years later down the road. That's that's exactly if you don't have if no one's listening to it 10 years from down the road, it's a crap song. It's let me let me let me rephrase that. It's not a crap song, it's probably just an average song.

SPEAKER_04

He's not looking at down the road, he's looking at now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeti who's Aubrey. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Can you sit here with an honest and straight face and tell me that baby baby yeti is gonna be bumping? No, no, no, no. Baby, baby yeti is gonna be bumping the heart part six.

SPEAKER_04

You mean the real heart part six? Yes.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_08

No. No, no, no. Honestly, she's probably gonna be listening to a whole other Yeah, to be fair, to be honest with you, here's what's gonna happen. It's gonna be Charlie XCX. No, to be honest with you, hell yeah. Kendrick is gonna be Tupac. Zara Larson. I mean, hope he's still alive, though. Right, but I'm saying 15 years ago or 15 years from now, that's probably what's gonna what it's gonna be like. And she's gonna hear Kendrick and be like, oh, that's pretty dope. Like that's that's old school, that's classic. I like that. When she hears Tupac, she's gonna be like, oh my god, what is that? Like, that's so forever ago. But you know, you know what's crazy though, is you can play a Tupac song right now, it still holds still holds water on the situations that's going on at hand in the real world.

SPEAKER_00

That is what's interesting, is like lyrically, some of the goats like their lyrics hold water, unless they're beats the beats, the beats are awesome, but the lyrics are the lyrics like the beats are awesome, but the beats is what will date it.

SPEAKER_05

Like, someone someone will hear a beat and be like, Oh, this sounds old, but like the lyrics sound fresh. Right.

SPEAKER_02

The lyrics are what make you remember.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, see yeti. See, Yeti, it makes you remember. So when she's so fine that he would suck her daddy's dick, like that makes you remember, right? Like I'll forget to say that again. Is that a big thing? I prefer you never say that again, bro. Biggie small.

SPEAKER_05

From what's Did he let did he let did he let Puff write that?

SPEAKER_04

Diddy wrote that. Did he write that?

SPEAKER_05

Probably.

SPEAKER_08

So anyway, anyway, anyway, and there's other we gotta to be honest, there's other rappers that have very, very questionable lyrics, absolutely. Yes, absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yes, because there's there's several lines that I was like, once it gets there, I'm kind of like, I can skip the song now because it's like no, we shouldn't be saying that.

SPEAKER_05

Always makes me cringe a little.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm like, it's not every everybody, every every every great artist, I feel like has some weird shit going on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. For sure, for sure. Like you maybe should have, you know, revisited that in the laboratory.

SPEAKER_08

But in DMX's defense in that in that particular part, he was talking about revenge, right?

SPEAKER_04

Right, right, right. No, I I I totally get where he was going with it, but it's like you can't say shit like that in 2026.

SPEAKER_08

If I got that shit in the rest of the light, the cops are gonna arrest me.

SPEAKER_04

Right, you can't say that shit in 2026. It just it doesn't that does not hold up. Hell no.

SPEAKER_02

But like what what did GMX say about Drake? He said he said he was corny.

SPEAKER_04

He said he was corny. Yeah, he was corny corny.

SPEAKER_02

He said, he's like Drake.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I don't like the way he works. I don't I don't like anything about Drake. Uh I think he's corny. Uh I don't like it. I don't like the way he walks. Uh he's I don't I don't like what he raps about. Yeah, he just he's a how do you feel about Rick Ross? He said, Yeah, I you know, but it's like we get it, you know. How many Big Macs can you eat? I was like, hey, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_08

Um DMX was a DMX was a deep different breed. Yeah, he kept it real.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, he really was. He really, really was. Yeah, he was he was he was not to be trifled with. But anyway, um, we got we got stuff to move on to. I know, I know. But if you if you haven't listened to those three albums, I guess go listen to those three and and give us your opinion on it. You know what I mean? Everybody, you're allowed your opinion. That's fine. Um, I I I'm not here. Yeah, I'm not I'm not mad at you for it. I don't care. Listen to whatever the fuck you want to listen to. It is what it is. Um, but but I do want to touch on real quick before we end entertainment

Netflix MMA And Rousey’s Fast Win

SPEAKER_04

news. Rhonda Rousey made her return to the MMA. Did anybody catch that fight? I didn't watch that fight. I saw it like a free fight. Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Like to talk about it. Crazy me. I was like, you know what? I I think I want to watch this. Like, I don't know. I just I wasn't a mood to watch it. My daughter was just playing, my wife would just sit on the couch, and I was just sitting on the couch, and I was like, I just want to watch this. So we started watching it at eight o'clock. I watched everything from start to finish. Nice, I watched every fight. So, okay, so here's the thing. I didn't realize that this was Jake Paul's. I don't know if he's a promoter for it or if it's his company, but it's his MMA, or okay, I shouldn't say his because I don't know the exact details of it. It's is it on Netflix?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, it was, and I think Jake Paul, I think Jake Paul has a has an agreement with Netflix, some kind of deal.

SPEAKER_08

Like I said, I don't know if he's a promoter or if it's or if he has stake in this company and is part owner. I'm sure he does. But it's it's a different MMA fighting company than UFC. And what a lot of people are saying is it's supposed to be a competitive thing for UFC, so you don't always have to go to UFC to watch these types of matches.

SPEAKER_05

You want to make a bag and lose and lose a time.

SPEAKER_08

Some of it's a good one. That's where people are kind of like, well, a lot of these fighters are older, retired, coming back from retirement. They're just here to quit a quick buck. So the a lot of people are thinking that it's more staged than anything. Like WWE.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it makes sense.

SPEAKER_08

It's fine, it's entertainment.

SPEAKER_04

Entertainment.

SPEAKER_08

Right. So like I watched it, and not knowing that base layer, I literally just watched it for what it was. Okay. And I I'm not gonna say I didn't like it. Like every round, every fight ended in the first round, and I was like, the first, I mean, yeah, it was just like I was like, damn, damn, damn, yeah. And then the fourth fight, which was uh Nate, uh Nate Diaz and No way, yeah. Yeah, and Netflix is his name, Terry Smith. I think is his name. I can't think of his name off topic. That's a very boring fighter name. It really is. But he's he was kind of he's kind of interesting to watch. He seems like he could be a beast.

SPEAKER_04

He probably could have came up with any other name. He said, No, I'm just using my government name.

SPEAKER_08

I think you guys are making me I kind of respect it if it is, though. A little bit, a little bit.

SPEAKER_05

He just like steps out, he's got a skull ring in his back pocket, you know? Yeah, I'm just Perry Schmidt.

SPEAKER_08

That's his name.

SPEAKER_04

Or my name isn't Terry Smith.

SPEAKER_08

I apologize. It was Mike Perry.

SPEAKER_05

Mike Perry is on the same way. Yeah, it's on the same level.

SPEAKER_04

You made a later old move. Mike Perry. Welcome to the welcome to the ring, Mike Perry. He's like, forgettable. Right. But so that one actually. I'm kidding. Wait. Wait. For the joke before somebody finds me and punches him.

SPEAKER_08

The Nate Diaz fight, that went, it went two rounds, but in the transition period from two to three, he Nate was bleeding so bad. Really? That the doctor just walked over to his corner and was like, yeah, you're not going back to that.

SPEAKER_04

Did he bust out the steel chair and like hit him over the head with it?

SPEAKER_08

No, we didn't see none of that. None of that. But I mean, I can tell right now, Nate was fucking leaking, dude. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's his thing. His skin is like really like if you've watched interviews, like in his fighting career, he bleeds easy, but he's still there. They just call it because of safety has it. Yeah, that's all it is.

SPEAKER_08

That's the crazy thing is like when I was watching it, I was like, how's this dude still fucking moving?

SPEAKER_04

Bro, can you can you imagine? Can you imagine he changes his name to the bleeder?

SPEAKER_08

Dude, I mean, just insane, bro. I'm like, dude, I probably would have taken a couple of them shots and I've been like, yeah, I'm done. Get me out of here, coach. Nate.

SPEAKER_05

He's a monster. Nate. So bleeder!

SPEAKER_08

Yes. Now we're gonna talk about the the last fight. The last fight of the evening.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah. Who was it?

SPEAKER_08

Ronda Rousey and Tina Kirk. Yeah, Corona. The intro for both of these fighters went probably 15 minutes. Jesus. Damn. That's super long as fuck.

SPEAKER_04

A very fast fight.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. And the bell went ding ding. And I was, I blew my nose, or I did something. I coughed. I did something. And the match was I looked back at the TV. I said, holy shit, Ronda just won. Like I looked away for like Are you serious? 17 seconds? And I seen her on Gina in an arm bar. Arm bar. Gina's snapping.

SPEAKER_05

It's a crazy way to blow your boat.

SPEAKER_04

I missed the takedown. I missed all of that. Just so we're clear, guys, that that that disappointment you felt. It's what your ladies feel when you're only doing that.

unknown

Wait, wait.

SPEAKER_04

This is why foreplay is important. For the joke, but yes, Chris, this is why foreplay is important. We gotta get him to the finish line.

SPEAKER_08

I have to wait for the replay to watch what happened.

SPEAKER_09

And I was watching it live.

SPEAKER_06

Imagine being a lady. So you know what's funny?

SPEAKER_04

No replay. You know what's funny? There was there was a picture I seen as a meme. Uh it was from South Park, and it had Stan in the back. It said this fight could have been an email.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my god. Thanks. But okay. Yeah, you would have been upset. I'm just gonna watch that clip.

SPEAKER_08

In the end, in the end, I enjoyed what I watched. And when they have another one, I'm probably gonna watch the whole card again. Because like I enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_04

That's fair.

SPEAKER_08

It wasn't bad. It was it was good. Yeah, that's fair. As what you said when I first started telling the story, it's entertaining.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's entertaining.

SPEAKER_08

So if you like entertainment in terms of fights and stuff like that, it's it's not bad.

SPEAKER_04

So what noises am I hearing, Templeton? Templeton. Hurrong.

SPEAKER_05

Hold on.

SPEAKER_04

It sounded it sounded like either his cat. Opening a door? No, like that's what it sounded like. It sounded like creaky, like a cat or a Templetad! He walked away. I think he did. He said, fuck this shit. I'm out.

SPEAKER_05

He's like he's like, fuck Rhonda Rousey, fuck Netflix.

SPEAKER_06

I'm not listening to this shit.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. Anyway, um, I think Yeti has something for us. Oh shit, I do. I think I've I don't know, or you don't.

SPEAKER_08

I got it up. Oh, wait, no, timeout. So before I get into this, I have to ask a question.

How Many Adult Accidents Is Normal

SPEAKER_08

I was listening to a talk show and they brought up shitting your pants. Okay. And someone on the shitting was like, I have friends that feel shitting your pants three times or less is acceptable for a human adult year of life.

SPEAKER_04

No, that's fair. That seems okay.

SPEAKER_08

So you think it's okay as an adult?

SPEAKER_04

Because accidents happen. Like like there's I'm sure there's gonna be times where you are just like you're in a situation, in a situation, to where you need a new pair, you need a new pair of drawers. Like, like there's nothing like that. That's why that's why the old adage of, you know, your mom always told you to carry an extra pair of underwear in your glove box, you know, just in case you get into an accident, or just in case you get into an accident or something like that. Because you never know. You truly don't know. You don't know what's gonna happen. You don't know what life can throw at you. So three seems reasonable. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Three, three seems reasonable. I mean, I mean, how many times have you had like diarrhea or something and you trusted a fart, right? And it just went oh that yo, but I learned that I learned early on.

SPEAKER_08

If you are sick in any type of way or feel sick or any type of way, you never trust a fart.

SPEAKER_04

That is like some people don't know that. They have to learn the hard way. Some people haven't learned the hard way. Yeah, they have to learn the hard way. So where it's like a year comes into play. There you go. Exactly. Like that's why that's why I say three seems reasonable. Like if you're doing a lot more than that, you might have a medical condition and you may want to get checked out.

SPEAKER_05

And we gotta think about the frequency, right? Right. Like, like if if it was like three over the course of 50 years, I think that's a W. Yeah, that's a that's a win. No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_08

That's a win. They said three in one year of adult life. So I misread that.

SPEAKER_04

So you're saying so so are they resetting the clock every year? Like every every January 1st, they get a reset of three.

SPEAKER_08

Now that's too much.

SPEAKER_09

I don't know. I think I think it's too much for one year.

SPEAKER_06

I think no I would maybe I would maybe give somebody one in a close call.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, three in a year, three every calendar year, brother.

SPEAKER_09

You need every January.

SPEAKER_03

I think I think you need to come back on the fiber.

SPEAKER_04

Could you imagine that's no? There's no shot. There's no fucking shot. Like what?

SPEAKER_03

Three in one year?

SPEAKER_08

Three in one year, bro. That's that's again, that's one every three months. No, no, I'm good.

SPEAKER_06

What are we eating?

SPEAKER_09

Honey, what are we eating?

SPEAKER_04

We need to come back, we need to come back on fiber. Stop it, stop it. If you're eating a lot of apples, chill, bro. Like, chill.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like maybe we should do solid foods for a little bit.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, a little bit. Just a little bit. Maybe add some cheese in there, some rice. You know what I'm saying? Bind that shit up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

We gotta we gotta get the brakes on in there.

SPEAKER_08

What were you doing for your shit just to be falling out like that?

SPEAKER_03

What every three months is crazy. That's nuts. Like, what the fuck is that?

SPEAKER_09

That's what it breaks down to, yes. Because yeah, three and a half.

SPEAKER_08

So if you if you do it on the ninth month, you can essentially do it on the 12th month, but it would also be considered January. You know what I'm saying? Like every three. December, October, November, December.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's really wild. No, that's that's actually crazy. I would not no no one like like again, if you stopped at like three in your adult life, right? Like that's it. Yeah, I get that sounds reasonable, but you spent three a year rather.

SPEAKER_08

And the other question, too, is like, what is considered shitting yourself?

SPEAKER_04

Like a full-blown shit, just or just a little just any, just any kind of bowel evacuation?

SPEAKER_06

Like, like it's a we're about to learn a lot about Yeti in about five seconds, dude. He said he just laid the he laid the groundwork. He said, now what are we constituting as?

SPEAKER_09

Because because if you can go to the if you can go to the bathroom. Oh my god. Are we counting that as a shit in your bathroom?

SPEAKER_04

No, listen, listen, if you do like a little, like, like, like you catch it, you know what I'm saying? Like you, like you, like you go to fart, you're like, oh, and you catch it. And you catch it a little drunk click. If it's not a full-blown load, no, I I don't count that as shitting yourself. I count like like you need to be like loaded diaper full.

SPEAKER_09

Like you couldn't hold it, you couldn't oozing down the leg wall.

SPEAKER_06

That's yeah, that's oozing down your leg was a description I did not need to hear.

SPEAKER_04

Sir, yeah. You got some you got something oozing down your leg.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

No, because it's like like I'm I'm I'm I'm good with three, you know, in in in your in your adult life. Because once you get older and you start losing control of that shit, you know what I'm saying? Like, I think that's where it starts racking up. I would hope when you get older, you know what I'm saying, and those and those muscles aren't as tight as they used to be. So they're just like they're just kind of, you know, every some things are escaping. So I mean, I could I could get behind that.

SPEAKER_09

What I'm so sorry. I don't know what it's conversation.

SPEAKER_03

They're getting past security, Chris.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know what you are fucking is diabolical. Oh my god, dude.

SPEAKER_04

Oh they're just fucking sneaking in, fake ID and all. They're just dude. I'm dead. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I'm with you though, because if there is a age range where the frequency is going to increase because of body, right? Right. It's like you're saying. And so like you don't want to you don't want that to be in your 30s. No! To be forty doesn't your activities play a part too?

SPEAKER_08

Oh shit. What'd you say? Doesn't your activities that you do play a part in how strong your ass cheeks are?

SPEAKER_04

Um I mean, yeah, yes, yeah, kinda.

SPEAKER_05

Like I know saying that running should help me.

SPEAKER_04

Well, running running typically keeps you regular.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, sick.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. We have a good we have a good asshole over here. We got a tight one over here, fellas.

SPEAKER_09

My point. Like it starts off like this, right?

SPEAKER_04

Fellas, fellas, do your keels. Turns into this, yes. No, your sphincter always stays tight, right? Like, it's just it's just are yes, eventually, eventually you start to lose control of that, though. It doesn't loosen, right? It doesn't go loosey-goosey. You just goosey. Yeah, it just you lose control of when it activates because it's a nerve thing.

SPEAKER_08

Like once you get older and you can't do this.

SPEAKER_09

Because I've seen videos and I'm like, whoa, no, those are not the right videos.

SPEAKER_04

Stay off, stay off of Pornhub. Those aren't the right, those are the right videos to be looking at.

SPEAKER_06

Whoa! It's then webmd.md.

SPEAKER_04

I can see your heart.

SPEAKER_01

Damn.

SPEAKER_04

I can see what you ate for breakfast. What is wrong?

SPEAKER_03

We have to move on like ASAP, like right now. Like right now. Right now.

SPEAKER_01

Skip.

SPEAKER_03

Like like our greatest Aubrey Graham uh album. Skip, skip, skip.

SPEAKER_06

Yo.

SPEAKER_09

Wait. Where's the drum? We need it. We have to save ourselves.

SPEAKER_03

I'm fucking dead. Do you have something for us or no? Because Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_06

Wait, so was that not even the Reddit?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_06

Yo. That was the stepping stone to Reddit.

SPEAKER_09

We're cooked. How chat, how cooked are we?

SPEAKER_04

How cooked are we, chat? Oh my god.

SPEAKER_06

Well done. Where are we at? Yeah, no shit.

SPEAKER_04

Stick a fork in this. I'm crying. I have literal tears. Oh my god. Before you ask two.

SPEAKER_06

Not one.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Before you ask two. No, I'm I'm going with one, bro. Just just one time.

SPEAKER_03

His home page. As soon as you pull it up.

SPEAKER_09

Hey, that's your buttole.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. We gotta stop. We get a Reddit story. Please get a fucking Reddit story like 90 seconds ago.

SPEAKER_06

There we go. Okay.

NYC Solo Trip And Flaky Family

SPEAKER_08

Okay. Am I the asshole? Okay. Am I the asshole for going to NYC alone without my family?

SPEAKER_04

Well, that depends. What did the family do, or what did you do?

SPEAKER_08

I don't even have to read it. If you go on vacation by yourself, you're not the asshole. You're just taking some of me time and you're doing it.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that that depends. Did they all plan this? So, context, please.

SPEAKER_08

Context. My family and I, 18-year-old female, were planning on going to NYC after I graduated at high school. But their actions say otherwise. My siblings, 23 female, 20 male, 17 female, were the ones supposedly coming with me to NYC. My parents can't make it due to work and other personal reasons. We had decided months prior that we would like to take a train since it might not be too far from where we were. We agreed on sharing a B and B cost, and I'd be the one booking everything since I was good at that with domestic travel. But when it came time for time to pay, they backtracked. My brother told me to wait on the train tickets. To wait on the train ticket prices to lower. My sister said she really didn't like NYC, and my younger sister said she wanted to go to the beachy go to a beachy state for the summer. I was confused and honestly a bit angry because we had discussed all of our plans beforehand and how much I wanted to go to NYC. Nonetheless, I waited and tried to convince them. Trouble on the state, because the train ticket prices went up from 169 per person to 300, which I then tried to communicate with them and they told me they were already that told me they were already to pay, but didn't want to book. I couldn't take any more of their excuses, so I booked the flight myself to go to NYC without them, and a B and B for a place to stay. It was cheaper, faster, and more convenient than taking the train. I broke this news to them, and my family disapproved. My mom explained that it was dangerous and I wouldn't know how to navigate port all by myself. She's a bit traditional and she told me that it wasn't normal to do that either. LMAO. Our dad is the same, and my siblings can't believe it either. It's my it isn't my first time traveling alone. So I knew what I was getting myself into, just not a big city like NYC. So am I the asshole for going to NYC without without my and knowing the context, I stick to my previous statement. Not the asshole because you just went on a fucking trip. If your family, hell, even if your friends are fucking shaky and they're like, yeah, no, because we've learned the hard way, Jay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we have.

SPEAKER_08

We've planned some trips. Um, and those trips, when it comes time to pay, when it comes time, and I have given people months of notice. Hey, we're going to we're going to uh New Orleans. Who wants to go? Everyone raises their hands. I got I have enough people. Well, I gotta rent two vans because we're driving. As it gets closer and closer and closer, people just start falling, dropping like flies. Um then at a certain point, it was down from like nine of us, down to four of us. And then the fourth person was like, hey, uh, I can't make it. I said, Listen, everything's already paid for. Because I've already paid for everything because it was for someone's blaster party. I was like, everything's paid for. We just need a body. Like, we just just just come. Right, just show up. Don't worry about anything. Already paid for. Let's just go. End up being just three of us. Um with that being said though, one of the best troops of my life. For sure.

SPEAKER_04

For sure. We had a we had we had a blast. But no, um yeah, given given the context, um if they're being flaky in a way, kind of like kind of like what they were, you know, they're coming up with a lot of excuses, blah blah blah. Now, I cannot just a play devil's advocate. I cannot sit here and say that, you know, things don't happen, things do come up, but you know, um, from what it sounds like, they're just kind of they're wishy-washy about it. And if you're not a hundred percent certain that you want to go, for me at least, like if you're if you're on the fence, just tell me no. Right? Just just just just tell me no. Don't tell me yes, and then later on, you know what, I wasn't really sure, then just tell me no. Just tell me no. Now, if you if you decide to do it last minute, you're gonna have to find your own way there. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm I'm gonna go regardless if you go or not. And if you call me up and on the day that I'm leaving, hey, um, I think I want to join you. Okay, well, you're gonna have to find your way down there because Exactly. I'm leaving. Bye. You y'all, y'all fucked around too much. So there's- I don't know.

SPEAKER_08

I don't know if that's something that she that she may have said in the like in the beginning of planning, because there've been times where I've like, hey, listen, I'm going no matter what, with or without you. Right. Do you want to go? Yes or no? And people have been like, yeah, I'll go, or no, I'm not gonna go. But if I say I'm going with or without you, especially if I say that, and you play this flaky on off again, and it comes time to do the trip, and you're not on board, or it's not go time for you, deuces, because I'm gone. So it is what it is. Right. I feel like this was a pretty easy one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it seems yeah. I was expecting more of a discussion, but um Yeah, we got nothing. Sorry, we spent a lot of time entertainment and unbundled. That's crazy. Oh, and on shitting yourself and all that kind of stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, there so there, I think the silver lining here between Yeti's story and since since we're all in agreement that that this person's not the asshole. Yeah um, if I had to scrounge up some content, uh the the lesson is I think to just do what you want, right? Like do they just like do what you're going to do, and then the people that show up are the people that show up. And if no one shows up, then you get your answer. For sure. Right. Um right. And like you said, it was like the best trip, you know, one of the best trips that you've ever had. And it's probably because you got to that point in your like mental fortitude of you know what, I don't even care if all these people don't show up. I'm gonna still have a good time because this is a cool fucking trip. Yeah, you know, and that's

SPEAKER_08

Important part. I gotta agree with you, but I also feel because we us three have talked about it. Like, what if there was nine people there? Would it have been as fun? And the thing we keep going back to is less numbers mean less people to fucking make happy.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. And if the less people are more like-minded, which we are pretty much fucking identical, like so like we just had fun. Like there was no trying to please the fifth, sixth, ninth member of the party. Yeah, it was just us three. Um and it was just yeah, it was it was pretty epic.

SPEAKER_05

Something I've learned as I age and become like more sure of the adult I am is if we do travel like with a large group, like when we went to Kansas City, um, you know, we all have different schedules

Group Travel Rules And Doing Your Own Thing

SPEAKER_05

that we live in our daily lives, right? And I think I think one morning I woke up, Jay and I went and walked and got coffee. Yep. And uh, you know, you and you and Pat were left behind, you know, relaxing or whatever in the morning. And like that's totally chill, right? Like there was no obligation for all of us to get up and go get coffee and breakfast. Like we were we we made plans to do breakfast later, and then like so I think if you travel with a large enough group and people are different or picky or less picky or whatever, um, as long as everyone is like comfortable with each other, I think you can kind of just like do your things and then join up. There's no pressure to like everyone do every little thing together.

SPEAKER_08

So, besides that trip, I don't think I've ever been in a large group where it's not an all or nothing.

SPEAKER_05

Uh uh I mean it's kind of same, it's just as I get older, I realize like, oh, I didn't like how that was. Yeah, if I ever do it again, this is what I would do, right?

SPEAKER_08

Right. So I and that's what made the Kansas City trip so nice, is like, yeah, yes, we were all there, but like like you said, you guys left and did stuff, and then me and Pat, we were just chilling. Like, we were just like, cool, let's get ready. We're in no rush, we'll go down and get breakfast at the time that we want to.

SPEAKER_04

Because yeah, so because there is in a bigger group setting, there is always the opportunity for one of them or a few of them to be like, well, you know, feel some type of way that you went you went without us. Why'd you go without us? It's like you can literally just so we're clear, you are an adult, and you can literally go.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you can come. You can't come if you're just this is where we're going. This is where we're ready.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's not my fault.

SPEAKER_05

It is gonna be ready. Right.

SPEAKER_04

I do not have to wait for you. Like, we can it's yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

So I I think the biggest the biggest thing to to also know is like when you do a large group setting is just communicate. Yeah, is just communicate like hey, this is what I'm gonna be doing in the morning or whatever. And and and even if it's a last minute communication, like when you guys, I don't know if the the coffee thing was planned the day before decided. Yeah, in the moment, morning. Yeah, hey, I want to go do this.

SPEAKER_05

You want to go? Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

I was pretty sure you guys said something to one of us or out loud, and we were like, nah, just go. We'll we'll see later.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because and then it's like, hey, we're gonna do this thing. Do you want to do it? No, okay, all right, see you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and that and that's the other side of it is there are also people that that peer pressure, right? When you when like like how we offer if you do you want to go? Nah, I'm good. Oh, come on. Don't be a bump on a log and see a big thing.

SPEAKER_08

That fourth through ninth member in your party. Yeah, I'm guaranteed that one of those people are gonna be like, pussy. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

One of them would have been like, yeah, okay, yeah, pussy and one of them. Oh, he can hang with the rest of us. It's like, you know what? No, I'm just I'm not ready to fucking go. That's it.

SPEAKER_08

I mean, I mean, here, it's it's no different than like so that that trip that we went on when we went to New Orleans. Pat was toasted.

SPEAKER_09

Oh my god, we thought he died.

SPEAKER_08

The next morning didn't move a muscle. He didn't move like 6 p.m. It was like, is he fucking breathing? I'm like, dude, throughout the day, me and Jay just kind of did whatever. Yeah, we we we left, came back, just kind of did whatever.

SPEAKER_06

I would have left like a Gatorade, some ibuprofen, a bottle of water, fucking my cell phone number, yeah, everything. Everything, everything a banana, a granola bar, a little a little note that says, I hope you feel better. Feel better. Feel better, sweetie.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, New Orleans.

SPEAKER_01

20 bucks to get breakfast.

SPEAKER_04

It did. It did. That was that was that was definitely a hell of a trip. But no, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Just big group settings, can like they're fun.

SPEAKER_05

Chris, have you been in New Orleans? No, not yet. Sorry. No, it's all good. I want to go. I want to go.

SPEAKER_04

Well, listen, we're not in our heyday anymore, Yeti. We are old. Dude, if I did New Orleans now, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

If I did New Orleans, I'd be waking up at fucking six o'clock in the morning, going to get some fucking beignets, some coffee.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I can tell you around, like all the French shit. It'd be a different trip. It would definitely be a different trip.

SPEAKER_05

It would I would do the night stuff, but I would be back by like 11 latest.

SPEAKER_08

Yep. Me and Jay, we we've got we've gone there twice, and we've done both trips were completely different. The first time was for a bachelor party, and we were at the city. That makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

The second time, my wife was opening a store up there, and me and him were like, let's go.

SPEAKER_04

Because it wasn't it was in Baton Rouge, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, it was in Baton Rouge.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and then we kind of went, Yeah, we'd go. Yeah, we took a rundown to where you could.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, we rented a car, we rented a New Orleans a Dollars Challenger. Yeah, it was cool. Just fucking drove down to fucking New Orleans. Well, it was Baton Rouge, but that night we went to New Orleans because we weren't super far from it. So no, we were like like 30, 40 minutes from there. And then that's cool. We we so we seen the night we didn't do anything crazy because the next day, me and Jay, we went out and sightseed while Emily was working.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, we went to that uh museum that yeah, we went to a museum, um, a USS something.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah, it was really cool. History shit. Yeah, it was just pretty cool, and then we got to just see New Orleans from a sober perspective. Yeah, different lenses and got to enjoy the stuff. In the daylight, yeah. No, no, no, no. It's completely different. It is oh, I bet it's completely different.

SPEAKER_04

So but it was pretty dope though. Yeah, you'd you we'd still have fun if we went, I'm sure. It would just be it would be it would just be a different kind of trip, you know, just be like more so like doing ghost tours. I would love to do a ghost tour if fucking.

SPEAKER_08

Now that we didn't do and I would love to do a ghost tour out there because that would be interesting. In New Orleans, come on, bro. Yeah, because that's what they're known for, right? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Who knew which brands? Yeah, we got it. That's that's the trip, right? Yeah, that's the trip. Right? I kind of I kind of want to do that. Oh, hear me out. We plan a like an episode recording at the hotel. So we do, yeah, we do like a ghost tour and then we come back and like record a debrief about it. I like that.

SPEAKER_04

I like that idea. That's an episode.

SPEAKER_05

It would be dope. That's a trip. Yeah, I like that idea. I think it would be fun. Yes, it is. That wouldn't be that expensive because it's not like I mean no, no, I'm saying like we could write that off for the pod, like as work.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we could. We could, yeah. We could, right? We could, we absolutely could. We don't have to start an LLC for that, right? We can just write that shit off.

SPEAKER_05

We can all we can all file that separately.

SPEAKER_04

Let's fucking go. Let's do it. Come on, guys, let's do it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm I'm all for it. Uh we talked about doing um something like that annually anyway. That's very true.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not listening. I'm all for it. Uh-oh, uh-oh. So um, with that said, not the asshole.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, right? Yeah, 100% not the asshole. We're all in agreement, not the asshole. Don't get in your head, keep it moving, have fun on your trip. I hope you had fun on your trip. Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, because otherwise pizza, get some get some uh junior's cheesecake, get some street dogs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, street dogs, get some hala. But before we move on, I do want to ask you guys a question before we move on. Like, have you guys ever been planning a trip? Right? And you're asking all your people, you want to go? And they're like, maybe, I don't know. I'm kind of on the fence. I don't know if I got the money. I might have the money, but maybe not right now. And you're like, you know what, you're pissing me off, and you want and you need a way to relax, just pop a little magic mine.

Magic Mind Ad Break

SPEAKER_04

You see what I did there? That's right. Magic mine. It's a wonderful little mental performance shot that's loaded with new tropics, like Elpheanine and Lion's main and some Ashwaganda to chill you the fuck out to get you to that Zen mode, right? Because people are pissing you off because they're being very wishy-washy about if they want to join you on your little trip. And they're like, meh, I don't know. And then they get mad when you go because they're like, bro, where was my invite? And you're like, bruh, Will's up at eight. You weren't there at the gate, right? So peace. Last call for alcohol. Last call for alcohol, and you were nowhere to be found. Get you some magic mine. It'll calm you down and that L-theanine. You can add it to your coffee on your in your morning routine when you definitely need it to get rid of that headache that people have been giving you, and it'll allow you to uh like a time relax time time release capsule for uh caffeine. Did I do that right? I think so. I think so. Alright, cool.

SPEAKER_05

So we know some of the kids do this one.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, is it that's right, that's right, that's right, that's right. I forgot about that one.

SPEAKER_05

It makes me feel like I have like raptor claws.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. This is my favorite. That's my favorite one right there. That's good. That's good.

SPEAKER_05

This one doesn't read well to you guys, right? Because the way my hands look, but when I see it, complete my heart, it doesn't look good.

SPEAKER_04

It doesn't look good, it doesn't look good, it does not look good. It doesn't look like a heart at all. This is so shitty. Anyway, we have a topic to get to. Oh, we still have that? Yeah, we still have that. Fucking long road there. Very long round.

SPEAKER_05

I I don't I think we said foreplay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, foreplay. It's very important. Very important. This is better than the Ronda Rousey fight. Definitely lasting longer.

SPEAKER_03

Money well spent.

SPEAKER_04

Damn. So anyway, what is it we're talking about today, fellas?

Live Show Recap And Stage Nerves

SPEAKER_08

I think we're just gonna recap our uh live show.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it sounds like a pretty good idea. I think we just wanna just want to do a little di read reader's digest of it. Kind of, you know, give you guys what we enjoyed about it, what we can work on, and what we're looking forward to next time. Which I think is always important, you know, self uh self-evaluation is key.

SPEAKER_05

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

Right? Because as I've told you guys before, um I don't know about y'all, but I listen to every episode. And it's not it is partially because I enjoy the conversations we have. And sometimes I'll forget that we talked about something, and then I'll hear it, and I'm like, we are so fucking stupid. But sometimes like other people will be listening in and they'll just start laughing, or they'll they'll they'll start like getting into the conversation about whatever we bring up, and they're like, oh, you know what, I never thought of that, or you know, good point, or you know, actually I think this way. And it really does get a conversation going, which is kind of the idea behind what we do, right? Like it's kind of the whole the whole shtick here. Yes, we tell a lot of jokes, we absolutely do, but we also want you to question things, have conversations, you know, open that line of communication with people because it it once you get started talking about it, it's hard to stop. So but the live episode was so it was such a change, right? It was a shift in the you know the normalcy of what we did.

SPEAKER_08

Right, right.

SPEAKER_04

I was I wasn't sure what to expect, but for me, I loved being it like the trivia part of it was really cool. I I enjoyed like getting yes, it was a smaller crowd, obviously, but I enjoyed getting people involved. You know, it was really awesome. And by the way, it was it was Joe and Sean. It was Sean, it's not Sean Sean anymore. It was Joe and Sean. Yeah, I re-listened to the episode. It was Joe and Sean. Right because everybody's like, was it John or Sean? I was like, well, we'll call him Sean John for now because we don't really know. But yeah, it was it was really cool to you know hear those guys getting involved, you know, getting getting invested. And then like in real time, they were like, Well, you gotta you got some extra followers. We're like, Bet, say less. So I enjoyed that. Yeah, that was cool. Yeah, I really enjoyed that. So I want to get your guys' feedback on our live event. What'd you like, what'd you dislike? What do you want to change for next time? What are you looking forward to next time?

SPEAKER_08

I enjoyed it. Um I didn't know what to expect, and I was pretty nervous because as I said, I don't know if I even said it on the podcast, but like I'll say it now, 100% will say it now. I don't mind being in the center of attention when it's my choosing. So basically, when I'm saying that is like when we're out in a social gathering and I become because if everyone knows me, I'm very loud. I can be obnoxious to some. No, and a lot of people they look to see what's going on if I'm around. And that could be me being cocky or overly confident, whatever. That's fine. But that's just the way I am. That's the way Jay Jay is. Our sister is the same way. Like that's just our personalities. We have very big personalities. So out in the public like that, and out drinking, having a party, people gather around, that's fine, doesn't bother me. But if you tell me to sit down somewhere in front of a crowd and read a book, like a Dr. Seuss book, even if it's something as trivial as that, I will vomit in my mouth 16 times, maybe pee my pants, have a little loose stool all shit himself, shit himself, and circle back to that.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, you get three in a year, dude.

SPEAKER_08

I know he used one. I'm just saying, I'm not that great at doing that. Can I tell you something? When I did it, it didn't bother me as bad. But I think it's because where I was sitting, I couldn't see everyone. Maybe.

SPEAKER_05

But Chris can't can I can I tell you something, Yeti? Yeah. You did great. You did great. Like, no, I I don't think anyone knew you were nervous. Yeah. To be honest. Like I mean I knew. But I I know what you like we knew, right? Yeah. Because you said it. Yeah, right. But I think I think that if someone came in, they would have not felt your nervousness. I think you carried it well. Uh well, I was like, I agree with you. I I feel very similar where um if I'm out and about in public and I'm like, I can have a good time when I'm comfortable with the people I'm with.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_05

And then the moment you put a mic on me and it's like, oh, everyone else can actually hear me now, right? There's like this added pressure that um I don't love, but I learned to kind of ignore, but that's not the right word. Like you adapt to it. Yeah, yeah. Like I I more or less am trying to ignore it, but what I'm really doing is learning to carry it. Um because you can't ignore it. If you ignore it, it's just gonna always be there. But if you learn to carry it, then you eventually don't even realize it's there. Right, right.

SPEAKER_08

If it is so hard, I mean it it and I hear you, and I'm gonna say this, but it's not like in any disrespect. It's just hard to do, you know? And it's just 100% it's hard to do. You get in your head and you're like, Oh, am I even being funny? And then like sometimes it's repetition, I think.

SPEAKER_04

For sure.

SPEAKER_08

You just have to get better at it. If I don't hear a certain thing, because like again, this is just the way I operate in large crowds when I'm comfortable. I feed off of what I'm seeing, off of what I'm hearing. And if I don't hear that stuff, then I start to get in my head. And if you're in a large crowd, you may not hear every single little thing. You got the light shining in your eyes, it's even hard to see outside in the crowd. Now that I know there was no light this time, but I've done other things where there has been a light and you can't see the people, and you're just like, ooh, and you start to feel like you're in an empty room, even though it's full, it's weird how I how my mind just kind of goes.

SPEAKER_05

I kind of like the idea of being in an empty room because now I'm just performing with the people that I'm talking to. Yep. Like you you might be looking at it from the wrong angle, because that could be a gift. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

See, I because if you can if you can like like like most people tell you, you know, envision the audience naked. And I'm like, I never understood that. I've never done that. I don't want to see you naked, right? Like, I'm just who are we talking to? Listen, just random, just random people in the audience. Here's the thing I don't want to see you naked, right? Because that is a bigger distraction than being nervous in front of people. If you can envision being in an empty room, I agree with Grizz. I think that's gonna be more of a gift than a curse, because now you are just performing with yourself and you have nobody to impress. It's literally just empty seats. Who gives a fuck if you fuck up? Right?

SPEAKER_08

Like, like because that's the point right there. Who cares if you fuck up?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, who cares if you fuck up?

SPEAKER_08

But the thing is, if I don't hear the laugh or the the feedback that you're looking for. I I get it. I get it, but then I just I just I stumble in my head and I'm just like, ooh.

SPEAKER_04

Because you because you think you're losing the crowd. I get it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yep. But if the crowd's not there, right? You have nobody to lose. That's what you're doing. If we are laughing at the jokes, then who cares if they're laughing?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, it's it's our like right now, cool, because there's I know there's no one. I I'm touching my wall right now. You know what I'm saying? Like there's no one around here. There's you three. But the thing is, is I know what makes you guys laugh, so I know which way to take my jokes if I have a joke.

SPEAKER_05

I got this.

SPEAKER_08

Ready? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

This isn't the greatest example because like we don't have the proper fanship to be watching us live yet. But if if and when we get to that point, the people that are filling that space are going to be people that are just like us.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

So they're going to get our jokes. Yep. That's you don't need to perform anymore. Correct. Because they're just here to enjoy what we're doing. They come to us. There's going to be probably less than one percent that doesn't know and they're trying something new. Correct. And that's okay if they're disappointed. That's okay. Because they were trying something new.

SPEAKER_08

That's I never see, I never thought of it from that perspective.

SPEAKER_04

Hang on, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. We love that explanation, Grizz. That was that was that was awesome.

SPEAKER_08

That was a pretty dope explanation to be yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But no, he's he's not wrong. Like the the people that will like he said, if and when we get to that point, the people that will be mostly in that crowd are those that enjoy listening to us. Think of it like a concert. Most people go to a concert because it's their favorite fucking artist. It's it's it's their favorite performer. So that they would want to come, they want to be there to see us. They think we're funny. You know what I mean? Like that's or they like what we do. They like what what we bring for them to the table. So it's like if you do look at it through that lens, that might that might help you in the long run. You know, for me, it's just another Tuesday. Just another man in the middle. Many Tuesday. Just another Tuesday. Like it like is there are you gonna have nerves? Of course. You know, because you're performing in front of people. If you don't, something's wrong with you. You're dead inside. But probably actually.

SPEAKER_05

No, seriously.

SPEAKER_04

Seriously. You're you're you're dead inside. Like, uh, yeah, what was I nervous? A little bit. You know what I mean? Because I'm like, I I've I haven't done performative stuff like that. It wasn't super performative like I thought it was going to be, probably because it was smaller of a crowd. Um but I haven't done anything like that in years, you know, so it'd been it'd been a while. So it felt it felt good getting getting the rust off and and all that kind of stuff. But it was it was fun. It was a good time. Even if it wasn't a huge crowd. It was nice trying to, you know, fish people in. It was funny watching some of their reactions because I would be yelling at some. I'd be hey you at the bar, what you drinking? You're like, nothing? That's cool. Like they would look at me and then they just kind of like chuckle and like just not. You know what I mean? Like they they just they were like, I'm not here for that. I'm like, that's fair, you know what I mean? But it was cool to just try to fish them in, try to, you know, just fishing for for some people was was was entertaining for me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Fixing Audio And Promoting Better

SPEAKER_05

I think some things that we could do um in a positive step next time is having some sort of little uh description, like just like a little like index card sized thing that could be sitting on the bar top at like the next space we inhabit, yeah, or having some sort of banner with information about what we're going on because like people are gonna walk by and see it and not necessarily want to get engaged because they see microphones and lights and like people people get nervous by that.

SPEAKER_01

Correct.

SPEAKER_05

So if there's something that they can privately read for themselves to decide if they want to engage or not, right um would probably be helpful. I think. Um I think if we were mic'd into their PA so the whole bar could hear us, yeah. Yeah, that that would have been nice. I know that like those are logistics that we just didn't have the opportunity to uh to iron out, but m like in the future we could totally make that happen easily. For sure. And we could even still like not disrupt the bar's music, we can just mix the sound to where like the music is playing soft enough, yep, but then like when we're talking, like it's over. You know what I'm saying? So then like if people especially when we're doing the trivia, that way we can engage with uh the people in the room a little easier because I bet you there was people that wanted to play trivia and they just couldn't hear us very well, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Right. And that and that very and obviously that's something I thought about. Um, we did have the opportunity to use the PA system. I didn't know how it was gonna work with everything. Again, as I said, I didn't want to call it last minute, but like the way that everything just kind of fell into place. It was like I felt like I was just in this race against time and didn't have enough time. No, for sure. You know what I mean? To get to get everything I wanted.

SPEAKER_05

It did, it did feel last minute because of our situation, correct? Right, like just the the timing of it all. Right. And and then like we were really trying to center it around my being in town. So like that that was our anchor, and then we just had to work around that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, which uh for for what it was, I think we did, I think we did pretty good. I think it I would say so, yeah. Yeah, I think it helped regardless if we had a big if we drew a big big crowd or not. It helped to kind of get that under under our belt to get in front of people, get up on, you know, a stage, so to speak, and kind of work out the kinks on what we can do better. Obviously, because I didn't know what it was gonna sound like through um OBS with the suppression on, because I put the suppression on for all the microphones because that helped with a lot of the um a lot of the background noise. So I got you guys pretty clearly. The problem was, and this is gonna be something for in the future, especially with the microphones that I got, you gotta be like right up on it for it to pick you up. That was the only issue. So we had a lot of moments where people were holding their microphones way out here, and I and it sounded like correct. And and it sounded like they were like miles away, and I was like, fuck. Don't get me wrong, it still sounded fine, right?

SPEAKER_08

I it out of curiosity, who did that the most? Just out of curiosity.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I would probably uh I don't know, is Templeton with us? Have you heard from him? Physically or no, like like like No, I haven't heard him talking about it. So so if I call his Templeton! Nothing? Zero. Nothing, okay. Nothing. So so I know Templeton did it, did it a few times. Yeti, you did it a few times. Grizz, you're you're used to your microphone, so you know exactly what you gotta do with your shit. So I I do want to add like a little bit of gain to everybody next time because it was yeah, again, it didn't sound bad. It was just right levels were a little bit more off than I thought they'd be. Right. And of course, with our guests, you know, I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to really tell them, hey, hey, if you wanted to pick you up, you gotta be like right on top of it. So yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_05

So it's that's why, like with this one, um, like when we were because I was holding it, yep, I just put it right on my chin. But because I have this mic stand, it's basically in the same spot. Yeah, I'm just not holding it with my hand.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so it's so you're used, you're used to handling that kind of microphone. I didn't know what these microphones were gonna sound like because they're brand new. You know what I'm saying? I've I've not worked with them at all. I didn't know again, with the timeline we had, and then all the fucking trouble I had with the goddamn laptops.

Bricked Laptops And Tech Headaches

SPEAKER_04

That was so that was such a pain in my ass. That was brutal. Three laptops later. Three laptops later. I was like, you gotta be fucking kidding me, bro.

SPEAKER_08

But who would have thought that like that is even a thing though? Because I I would never have thought about a laptop being pretty much brick to make it cheaper.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, to make it cheaper. It's just it's just a way to I'm not surprised. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But I am shocked a little bit.

SPEAKER_04

Because it's like, okay, so in my mind, like I get what they're doing, right? Like they wanna they wanna allow schools, businesses, whatever, to bulk buy these laptops that you know I know nobody's gonna be fucking around on, right? Like they can't download third-party apps, it is what it is. But if you want that, right, like why do you have so many readily available to the public, right? Like the public isn't gonna be looking for that, mostly. Mostly. Like, I understand parents that want to kind of lock, you know, watch what their kids are doing and lock that down, but why do we have so many value laptops, as they call them, readily available for the public rather than having like your full-blown laptop that gets you what you're looking for.

SPEAKER_08

Here's the thing I don't even care that there's that many. I feel like there should be something that says, hey, this is a bricked laptop. You are only gonna be able to do A, B, and C.

SPEAKER_05

There's nothing description for sure. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I think I told you guys the story. I went when I went to Best Buy and I was looking for a laptop, I seen a Lenovo that was like, I want to say $200 less than the one that I got. And it had just about everything I needed. I was like, oh, this this doesn't seem bad. Like the processor was nice, the memory on it was was you know, it was more than what I had from the other two laptops. So I was like, okay, this might be this might be a good this might be a good opportunity, you know, a good good option. And then I one of the guys came up and was like, hey, can I help you? I was like, yeah, this is what I'm looking for, right? I need I need this kind of laptop. And I was like, I think this Lenovo would pretty much do. He's like, Yeah, you don't want that. And I was like, why? He said, because out of the box that has S mode. And it's I was like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. And he said, Yeah, so everything here on this wall says value laptop, it's all got S mode.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, why do you have a whole wall of bullshit? At least at least one person told you. Yeah, you know, they could have been as complete.

SPEAKER_05

Should have that on them. Correct.

SPEAKER_08

That's what I'm saying. It should be and it should be very understanding. Yep, it shouldn't just say this computer comes with S mode. Yep. Yeah, okay, it comes with super mode. Start explaining shit. Yeah, what the fuck is S mode? Right.

SPEAKER_06

It comes with super mode. Super mode. Is it gonna turn blue?

SPEAKER_09

This is awesome.

SPEAKER_04

Let's go, let's get it. This is amazing. Superman's laptop, right in my hand.

SPEAKER_05

You like you powered on it, and it just goes, ah turns into a super saiyan.

SPEAKER_04

But no, it was just it was it was nice to have somebody that that immediately told me this is not the this is not the one you want. And he and I was like, okay, so what do I want? And I was like, please don't tell me I gotta turn around and look at all the laptops that are over a grand. And he's like, Yeah, basically. He's like, but I do have a Lenovo that's on sale. It was on sale and and I and I paid close to $800 for it. It was $300 off. So it was over a grand. That laptop alone is over a grand. Yeah, it's it was just a question.

SPEAKER_08

Yes. How are you able to pay for that? Can you want to show to the class how you were able to come up with it?

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. Why do you why do you want me to share this story with everybody? That's a great story.

SPEAKER_05

Was it hey? Was it your feet picks?

SPEAKER_04

Uh no, but close Jay Jay's feet picks. Jay's feet picks. So so the way I was able to pay for that, I'll try to do the reader's digest of it.

The Casino Win That Funded Gear

SPEAKER_04

So we have a casino close to us, Hard Rock, and they have they have um these little uh uh uh uh uh oh my god, what am I what am I trying to say? They have like events that happen, right? So like yeah, promotions. They they have promotions. I think it's twice a year, one in April and one in October or something like that. And essentially, if you go you go every Saturday and they have candy bars, they have little chocolate bars. And when you when you open it, you have an opportunity to win some win some stuff. So it could be some free play money. Uh I think the grand prize is $300,000. Now it's $300,000. So it's the chocolate bar extravaganza, right? And sometimes you win like little little free money, like $10, $20, $25,000, $100,000, $250, you know, whatever, whatever they decide to give you in there. Not every single one has it. You know what I mean? It's kind of luck of the draw, but when we went, we went every Saturday, right? To you know, the the more you go, the more the higher the chances of you winning something. And unfortunately, Mrs. Yeti didn't win shit, and she was so cruised that she was so pissed. She was so she was so pissed.

SPEAKER_08

She said, I'm not going to the stupid thing again. Yes, you are. But she did, though. The wife is amazing. And she won.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, you are. So Yeti here, I think he won what, 25, 20, 25. I won 20.

SPEAKER_08

You won 25.

SPEAKER_04

And I won 25. And we went the last Saturday, obviously, goose egg for the for everybody, but you know, me and Yeti had because the the coupon you get, the little the little winnings you get. Yeah, it's like good. It's like uh Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, right? So those yeah, so those are good um for the month. So you can hold on to the ticket the entire month. It just has to be that last that last Saturday, you gotta use it, right? So if you put it on your card, you have 24 hours to use that money. So we held on to it because we were just gonna, you know, it whatever we won, we were gonna collectively put it on our cards and then gamble off of that. It's all free money, right? It's all house money from Hard Rock. Didn't win anything, went there the last Saturday. We went ahead and cashed everything, and then Yeti was like, All right, well, let's hurry up and do our stuff, right? Like, let's do what we came to do.

SPEAKER_08

And I have a specific machine.

SPEAKER_04

He has one specific machine that he loves to play on because it's it's loose. I I will say, this machine is loose.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, it's a loose. I've walked away with 75, 100 bucks on numerous occasions. Now, that may not be a lot of money, but when you're gambling ten dollars of free money and you walk away with a hundred, that's a lot of money. Like in terms of pocket.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's that's all free money.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's all free money. You didn't pay a dime, right? So, so Yeti likes to go to this machine because it is it is a loose machine. Like it that just that game, it just that little gaming spot, it's loose. Like anytime you play it, because it has the mini games, it gives you the extra spinning machine is the hook maybe for like the real addicted people.

SPEAKER_05

I I don't know because they have it way in the back. It's way in the back.

SPEAKER_04

Like you got a walk to it, bro. Yeah, you got a lot to it.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, what if what if hold on, hear me out. What if it's what if it is the casino's little gift to those who I don't know, maybe right, maybe it's not paying out big time, yeah, but it keeps you coming, it keeps you coming back, right? Yeah, right. And they're it's like a little investment on their end where they're like, yeah, we'll give you some pay cash. They know most people are going to keep coming back and keep playing, right? Right. So they're gonna make the money back. Yeah, it's coming back. It could be it could be a little a little the hidden gem.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the hidden gem from hard rock. I mean, I listen, I'm not I'm not opposed to that idea. It would be funny because because I think it they have moved the game around.

SPEAKER_08

Like, I don't think it was always it has moved around a couple times, yeah, and there used to be two of those machines. Yeah, now they're now there's only one. Did they both spit out?

SPEAKER_05

Did they both spit out?

SPEAKER_08

Or just the one? Yeah, I mean, back in the day they did, because I because we've been doing this now for like three years.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, I see. And because I because every October and every April, yeah, they run.

SPEAKER_04

They run it both. Okay. So it was it was I think this is what added a little bit of saltiness to Yeti because it was his favorite game. And of course, we were like, all right, let's, you know, because he sat down, he put his stuff in, and he was like, So what do we do? I was like, Max bet. Max bet at all. Yeah, we're gonna lose it. We're gonna lose it quick. Yeah, just max bet, let's let's let's burn this money, let's get the fuck out. So Yeti puts his puts his $20 in. And $20 was like, it wasn't the max bet, but it was the most pretty high up there. It was like $20, and then I think it was like $35 or something like that. Yes. So I see, I see. So so $20 was like second best, right? And so he was like, 20 bucks, boom, hit the button. Goose egg. Yeti walks away with absolutely nothing. I was like, all right, get the fuck up, move out of the way. I put my $25 in, he was like, You better do $20 and then $5. I was like, Do you think I'm fucking new at this? Like, what do you think I'm gonna do? Like, you know what I mean? So I was like, 20 bucks, hit the button, screen goes gold. I was like, what's this? So so it hits the little gong, which is the little the little uh uh uh uh mini game that it plays, right? One because it has three different yeah, it has three different minigames in one, and one of the mini games it hits the gong and it has a bunch of little like golden medallions and it'll shoot those medallions in onto the slots, right? On the little spots. You have five different five rows across the screen, right? So how it works, so how it works is once you get three in a row, it'll pop up random numbers, and whatever random numbers pop up there, that's how much you're gonna win back. So if you get like 980 in the in in a row, you're getting $9.80 automatically.

SPEAKER_08

Or depending on how much money you spent, right? It could be $980. Right, it could be all depends on how much you bet.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it it truly does. But I see.

SPEAKER_05

So there's a multiplier based on getting correct bet.

SPEAKER_04

Correct.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, correct. That makes sense.

SPEAKER_04

So 20 bucks, I hit it, right? And like the first one popped down, then the second one, then there was one over here, and then all of a sudden it was like one, two, three, four, and I was like, no way. I had four, I had four in a row, one was missing. It was like one, two, three, and then went pch ching, and I was like, Oh, I had a whole row of gold medallions of five. And I was like, So at minimum, that's a hundred dollars, right? Coming my way, you know what I mean? So I'm like, all right, that okay, okay. And this bitch just right, so it starts shooting, you know, the numbers down, and one of them uh was an arrow pointing up, and what that will do is it'll slide to a certain medallion, whichever way, right or left, and it'll shoot the number up to increase your winnings, right? So the last one, the last number over here far left was a nine. And I was like, oh shit, that's $900 coming back my way, right? So the arrow goes one, two, and I was like, Oh, it's going up. So it went 10, 11, 12, and then it ran it together. I won $1,200 on my first.

SPEAKER_06

Holy shit.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. That's crazy. So all of the money I had spent for no like no no no no because because again, the laptop itself was on sale, so I only spent $700 something dollars, so I still had some money left over, but it all the money I had spent on you know the gear came right back in my pocket. I was like, let's fucking go, dude. Like, that's fucking dope, right? But Yeti's over here, like, I get a finder's fee, right? I was like, no, that's not how it fucking works. You gotta tip the dealer, my man. No, you weren't the fucking dealer. I was like, are you fucking kidding me? What is wrong with you?

SPEAKER_05

So yeah, one finder's fee was those microphones, my guy.

SPEAKER_04

So it was it was pretty it was pretty funny because uh that just so we're clear, just just to make put some context to this. Anytime I go into a casino of any kind, I get beat up. I have no luck in casinos. It always takes my money and laughs in my face. I'm like, well, you know, it is what it is. I typically only go in with like 40, maybe 50 at the most, and you know, try to see what I can win. Very rarely do I win anything. And then the one time, boop, free my on free money, mind you, one push of the button, twelve hundred dollars in my pocket. I was like, Well, I'm done and I'm going home. Let's fucking that's the move.

SPEAKER_08

That's the move. The cool thing about it is Kentucky and Ohio just raised their bare minimum on what you got to pay taxes on, and it's two thousand dollars. So if you win to pay tax on that, nope, nope, all he had to do was sign a piece of paper saying, Yeah, I got my money.

SPEAKER_04

That was it. That's cool. Now it was it was it was it was really cool. So I was like, you know what? Yeah, we can go home. I'm good. I was like, I'm good, let's go. And and we went to the Asian festival after that.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, casinos are fun, dude. They are and and I play responsibly. I'll bring like 200 bucks and treat it as like an evening. Like if you were to go to dinner, you're gonna spend like 200 bucks. Right. Like if you're going if you're going to like a dinner, you know what I mean? Like drinks, food, like that's gonna be 200 bucks or more. So if I go to the casino, I tell myself, like, oh, this is just my entertainment for the night. 200 bucks. Once I want like I just get it all out in cash, and then when I no longer have any more, I just walk away.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, when you're tapped, you're tapped. That should be the move, right? Like for me, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that for me, if I bring 200 and like on my first machine, I hit like an extra 200 or an extra 150. I'm done. I'm calling it wallet. I'm calling it. Oh, yeah, I don't give a shit if they're like, we just got here. I'm like, I don't care. I'm up. Like I'm taking my money and I'm running.

SPEAKER_05

I'll so like say I play a slot. Uh because okay, I have like I have like three games I like to play. I'll play slots just because they're mindless and you do get lucky sometimes. Yeah, I'll play blackjack when I'm really feeling confident, but I'm not really that good at it. But and it's intimidating to sit at the table. Yeah, and I'll play roulette. Roulette is my game. I've made 350 bucks off of I turned $50 into $350. Let's go on roulette once at a casino in a uh on a cruise ship. It was it was amazing. Um it could have been beginner's luck because that was the first time I ever played, but it does have really good odds, like 49%.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I think Craps is the only one that has like the better odds, but Craps is more complex for sure. Um I don't touch poker, not in a professional setting. I'll play poker with friends, but I I I do not have the confidence to play poker because that's just like poker seems like who is better at being uh pretending to be confident.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, yeah. I I don't mind playing Texas Hold'em against the dealer. Okay, fair. Because those tables are slightly different when you're sitting at a one, yeah. Well, it's not one-on-one, so you have like a chair of like six, but all six of you are playing the dealer by yourself, which is similar, similar to uh how blackjack is played.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, right, like you're playing the dealer and there's other people at the table. Yeah, yes, so okay, I could do that, yeah. And yeah, that one's fun. Uh I I could see myself doing that. Um, but what I'll do is like if I'm playing even even if it's roulette, uh, but what like especially the the the slots, if I win any winnings, say I bet five bucks and I win 20, I'll just punch if it's I have a I do have a dollar amount. I probably say like twenty dollars or higher. I'll just cash out that that slot, yeah, and then take that little receipt, put it in my pocket, and then maybe I'll put another five dollars in and play that game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I just want a little bit, maybe it's on the verge of like winning a big and then as soon as I Win big on a on on a specific machine, I walk away because that thing's not gonna pay out for another four billion dollars. Yep, right.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, yep, yep. No, you're you're right, you're right. And it's just crazy watching some people just like win big and then just keep using what they just won. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_05

I'm like, why are you doing don't use the winnings, use the rocks, bro? That's crazy though.

SPEAKER_04

One of the Saturdays we went, it was me and Mrs. Yeti. We we walked in, we passed a guy that was he had just won like $700 or something like that on a machine. Now, granted, I don't know how much he's put in up until this point. Like, we just see that, right? We we walked to get our chocolate, that's it, and came back. This dude was already down to like two something, and I was like, What happened? I'd be so sick of my stomach. Oh, it's like cash it out.

SPEAKER_05

I'm leaving, I'm done for the day out and then play with whatever else you have. Again, I don't know what he brought. Because even if he lost, right, right, but even if you lost, so like say I bring $200 to the casino, I bring $200 to the casino, and then I I I spend it all. But then I take all my little receipts and I you know cash them in. And even if I don't walk out with the $200 I brought, like you feel like you're winning because you you're leaving with right earnings, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_05

Like you just paid to have fun, is all. Yep. But some people don't know how to do that.

SPEAKER_04

Listen, I walk by we passed, we were walking out, and I was like, that is what you call a problem. Because no shot am I gonna see $700 on my screen and be like, yeah, let's keep going. Yeah, no, I'm good.

unknown

I'm good.

SPEAKER_04

That's stress.

SPEAKER_05

That yeah, that heart rate just skipped.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I'm saying. 700 bucks, dude, and then you're just gonna lose it. That it would happen that quickly.

SPEAKER_05

So I was like, oh, you guys remember when we went to uh was it Lawrenceburg for our like party our like group birthday outing? That's when I won another four or five hundred bucks. Yeah, was that at Hollywood? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and you remember I don't remember if it was when I was with you guys and it was that time or if it was the casino I visited here in Seattle. But I was walking and somebody had won like 10k on a slot. Oh wow. Okay, like they had to wait, they had to wait for um security to come and like do everything because like 10k is a lot of money.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they have to walk you to the to the little to the little cashier and cash out over there.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's and I can't I I don't even know how much money those people had spent before they won that 10k. But but 10k, bro, could you imagine winning that much at a casino?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, like no, like for us, because we don't make a lot of money, like we're just average Joes. But 10K, you you bring home what, maybe 7k? 7k could pay a bill off. For sure.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, for sure. I mean, 7k can pay for a trip. Yeah, you know, like like to to decompress from life for a living. Could do a lot of things, yeah. Could pay some debt off.

SPEAKER_04

It could, you know, to a Bengals game across the sea. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We're not gonna do that to ourselves, okay? We're not gonna we're not gonna hurt ourselves. You guys gonna go? I would shut up, Yeti.

SPEAKER_08

You gotta go pull that trigger anyway. Anyway, I started seeing those messages. I started doing this. They better not go in. Better not go there, better not go in.

SPEAKER_05

Brother, we're not going without you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no, no, no, no, for something like that, hell no. That's gotta be a whole group trip. That's a whole fam trip. That's a family trip. I appreciate that. I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_05

But anyway, we bring in the parents and everything.

SPEAKER_04

If we if we go that way, the parents and everything. Everybody gotta come. Everybody gotta come. Well, I don't know. You know, with um 2020 season two about to start with this Hontavirus. Did I was I supposed to talk about that? No, I wasn't. Oh, yeah. Anyway, that's let's um anyway. Here we go. Anyway, um, what what were we talking about? Oh, our live event,

Merch Ideas And QR Code Plans

SPEAKER_04

right? We gave away some we gave away some merch, which was really cool. I love that we actually have two people out there now. Well, technically three, four, a couple of people out there now that are wearing our shirts. They got your design on it, Grizz. That's so fucking cool.

SPEAKER_01

Which is pretty cool.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's so fucking cool. And I'm not gonna lie, those long sleeve shirts turned out really nice. I am partial to the long sleeve because of they're they're they're pretty dope with the FMJ podcast on the side. I was like, I'm not gonna lie, I want a tank top.

SPEAKER_05

I want a tank top to wear while I'm skateboarding. Let's do it. Oh, yeah, we should make yeah, we should make one. Yeah, we should get you some black tanks, some black tanks.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'm I I like I like that idea.

SPEAKER_05

I like where I'm I like wearing a tank top. I'm wearing one right now, actually, underneath my uh flannel. Um yeah, they're just comfortable. Uh you can just wear them under a like another shirt, and then I'm really big on layers these days.

SPEAKER_04

I like layering up. I hear you, bro. Layers, layers are nice. But no, it was it was really cool. Like we got, you know, with the stickers and everything, which I was surprised. We got I we got the stickers as quickly as we did. I I was stickers are nice. Yeah, I was not expecting them to make a make a uh delivery that fast, but I was like, oh, that's dope. And they turned out pretty decent. So I mean, I got 25 of them for like $49, which isn't awful. So it's not bad at all. You know what I mean? So I'm like, okay, if whatever we need stickers, I would like to start working on getting the QR code made. You know what I'm saying? Like our idea with the QR code, and you should be listening, or are you listening? And then just start slapping them everywhere that we are, just yeah, put them places and people can do it.

SPEAKER_05

The microphone skull in the logo, yeah. I can isolate from the digital file and I can move it to like its own sticker. Oh, and we can put like are you listening? Yes with the QR code, and it's like that microphone is talking.

SPEAKER_04

I like that. I'm like, Are you afraid of the dark? Yeah, no, I I like that. I truly do. Just to get just to just to add some mystique, some mystery, and then people are just like they're curious, you know. When when when our sister was like, we seen the QR code on the poll, she's like, should I scan this? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Probably not. Yeah, probably not. It's so true because it's like, damn, that could literally be anything. It could be anything. Wasn't it wasn't it just a QR code? Like, there wasn't even one of the things.

SPEAKER_08

It was just a QR code. Now you gotta be seeing like here's the thing. I I hate to be this person, but like there's people out there that are like putting those up and stealing people's information. Hell yeah. From their we should from their we should steal, I mean, yeah, we should get in on that.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, um great idea, Yeti. I mean, no, we don't do that. Yeah, that's terrible. That's terrible. How how could you how did you do this? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That is crazy. I never even thought about that.

SPEAKER_08

Step by step, explain it to me like I'm gonna go to a website, a website, and then you automatically go to the website and it just yeah, boom.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, like like like like spyware, some shit like that. That's actually crazy. That's that's the thing though, they're getting smarter. Again, not the topic. So let's continue on the live event. Then the label of this one's gonna be train wreck. We have notes about the live event. I know what I gotta do next time for it to kind of get more pieced together. Um, the the TikTok live, obviously, we're gonna have to do some things differently with that. As far as getting audio to that, which I had thought about it. The problem was, again, time. I was gonna get a um oh my god, a uh wireless microphone to where we can get it like clipped in. I don't know if you can get one that will hold multiple microphones, you know what I'm saying? Like kind of like multiple Bluetooth microphones and and it work. I don't know, I don't know how that would look. So I'm gonna have to do a little bit of I see what you're saying.

SPEAKER_05

We I think I think we might be able to fit figure out a way to um have a Bluetooth signal or something come from the receiver. Right. Uh instead of each individual microphone. Right. We could just have it as like a uh what's it called? Like a master mix. Correct. And then send that signal out.

SPEAKER_04

Right. And that's that's why I'm like I'm curious as to how that would work, how that would look. I don't know. I've been I've been shopping around a little bit to see if we can get something like that.

SPEAKER_05

And then of course I have it sent through OBS. Can't you can't you pitch it out like because I know you did it with Steam. Nope, that's not right. What's the Twitch? Twitch.

SPEAKER_04

Next guess, next guess. No, um I think I think you can. I I because I kind of googled that, I YouTube it, and they say that there is a way to multi-stream through OBS, which I'm gonna have to do some work but on that and just kind of I think it is, yeah. Not the phone, yeah, not yeah, not not not not that, which it it very well could be. And because it I think it was just nice to have like multiple different angles, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_05

Like oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Because you had you had one that kind of like got the crowd and then one that had us, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_05

So it's like Well, I do have a solution for that.

SPEAKER_04

What's up?

SPEAKER_05

We just get um uh like webcams that we can like tie in to the computer, yep, like the laptop itself, and then in OBS, you can I don't know if you're doing it with your OBS multiple scenes, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You can have multiple scenes and transitions. Yep. Uh we would just at that point we would need someone manning the laptop. Yeah, that would be like not not one of us because a whole job in itself.

SPEAKER_04

We can't hear you, Yeti. You're gonna have to do something. Yeah, yeah, I know. Fucker! That's what he said. But no, and like like I've been again, as uh as I was saying earlier, I I I listen to the show not only just to like do I'm I'm do I'm working, essentially, and I tell people that all the time. I'm like, I'm working. It's not that I like the sound of my own voice, it's that I I have to know that it sounds decent. You know what I'm saying? Otherwise, otherwise, like what am I doing? We're just gonna record it once and then throw it out into the world. That's not how you do things.

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_04

You have you have to listen to it and and you have to be able to critique your own shit.

SPEAKER_05

Like it's not it's not easy. No, I used to do it too. It's hard.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's it's very difficult. And I don't think I think there's a lot of people that think, well, we're how hard could it be? You're just listen, you're just talking into a microphone. It's like, yeah, but there's levels, literally, levels to this shit.

SPEAKER_08

Levels to this shit.

SPEAKER_04

There is. There's there's layers and levels to this shit. And I'm over here trying to figure out what levels work best, what levels, you know, don't work so well. Is the music too loud? There's been several times where, like, especially at the end, I'm like, fuck, I put that goddamn shit way too loud. It's drowning us out. You know, so it's like, I finally mastered that shit. So it's like it's just work, it's work from start to finish, you know what I mean? And it is what it is. Like, I enjoy it though, right?

SPEAKER_05

Like, I feel like you know what it's better than? What's that? It's better than those three pieces of work that Aubrey Graham put around. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_09

I forgot we talked about that.

SPEAKER_04

Wait for the joke, before the fucking, you know, before Aubrey's before Aubrey's angels come after us. Aubrey's angels.

unknown

Aubrey.

SPEAKER_06

That's fucking wild. Angels is crazy. It is number time. They'll be doing a flyby. It's no longer the blue, the blue angels.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's it's Aubrey's angels. Because you know they they ride they are ride or die for that man. It ain't a hundred percent they are. It ain't no joke, but no, I I I look forward to our next live event. I truly do. I know you mentioned Grizz banners and stuff like that. Like, that was part of what I was going to do was get something pieced together, put it out, and then either get something to put on like because um Miss Meeseek said she had like these little like table tower things, because that's mostly what her job is all about, is like excuse me, like promotion and stuff like that. So she has stuff that we could utilize. I just didn't know what it looked like, I didn't know how big I needed things, so it's like I next time I will have more time to create these things and make that happen. So um 100%.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, and like even now we can uh put together little like ideas and just um soft launch some shit, like like put together like a little info packet of sorts and uh pass them around to people and just be like, hey, give us some feedback on this. Like if you saw this out, what would you think? You know, and just do market research.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. We could we I mean we could start now or whenever. Like it doesn't it doesn't matter, there's nothing holding us back except you know, air and opportunity and we just sucked up all air.

SPEAKER_03

What you gonna do now?

SPEAKER_04

So I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_05

No, it was a great experience. I enjoyed it a lot. Um I I really liked I liked the trivia part. I liked the space was even cool. Yeah, I liked that we did it at that bar. Like that I feel a lot of um I don't know, I feel a lot of attachment to that place because when I lived in Cincinnati, I would visit there frequently, you know, go into that good fellas down the block. My tattoo artist works right next door, you know, like it was I don't know. I just used to I used to run that neighborhood a lot. And uh it it felt like I personally felt a type of way about doing our live show at like what felt like home. Okay. Right. Yeah, like it was just really cool.

SPEAKER_04

No, I need that. I appreciated it because I love the aesthetic. You know, I love I love the shining, so it's like I love the I love the theme behind behind all of it. It was it was really cool. And knowing that, you know, he they are willing to they they welcomed us back. You know what I mean? They're they're they're they're pretty they're pretty chill with us going there. And if it and if it's gonna be, you know, it's not gonna cost us an arm and a leg I'm okay with that. You know what I mean? I'm I'm I'm a okay with that. And hopefully one day, like you said, if and when we cross that bridge. One day we can get to the point where we won't have to pay for all of this crazy shit, but we'll have to wait and see. We'll have to wait and see. Yeah. But as of now, the live event was I'd say it was a success. I enjoyed, I enjoyed one of the biggest one of the highlights of the whole uh episode.

Would You Rather Celebrity Follow

SPEAKER_04

That interview with Anthony, shout out Anthony Bolton. Yes, if you if you did uh I don't wanna I don't want to forget that. Shout out Anthony Bolton. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hang on, Grizz. Let's do this the right way. Uh let me find it. Shout out to Anthony Bolton.

SPEAKER_05

There we go, there we go.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we had to we had to applaud him. We uh we appreciated him coming on the show and and spreading his word. If you haven't checked out his book, Cat's Got Your Tongue, please go go check it out. Yeti, did you get your copy yet? Is it on the way?

SPEAKER_08

I just I just got it. The only thing that makes me sad about the copy, and it's my fault, I was I was I was in the moment as I should have.

SPEAKER_04

It's not a hardback.

SPEAKER_08

I know it's a hardback, but I should have bought the book from him that had the cat on the edges. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Like the one I like the one I have. I have two copies, brother. I have two copies. What what sucker trade me? No, um, so I was sorry. So, but no, shout out to Anthony. I think I think that was one of the best interviews we've ever done. So good job on that. It really was all of us. Because listening, listening back to it, I was like, yeah, it was like it was really good. It was really good. And then of course, people were so I love the fact that I I threw out the question if he ate crushed up Doritos on his peanut butter sandwich. And they were just like, What? Like, how do you go left? Like you had such a great I'm like, that's okay, that's the point, right? Like, that is the point. Yeah, you knew it was coming. Unnecessary. You knew it was coming. You knew it was coming.

SPEAKER_08

I forgot you asked that random question.

SPEAKER_04

Which is beautiful.

SPEAKER_08

I love that.

SPEAKER_05

Do you put chips on your Peter Bell and Jelly sandwich? Yes, I do. I crush up me?

SPEAKER_08

Fuck no, I don't.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because he's weird, because no, he's weird.

SPEAKER_05

So so if you have a salty regular chip, but I don't know if I would do like a Doritos chip.

SPEAKER_04

Hear me out. So purple bag, spicy, sweet chili, spicy, sweet chili. Okay. I can hear. I I see you. Crush it up, put it on a PB and J. I promise you, Grizz, your life will fucking change. You'll be like, oh my god. Because the sweet and the heat. I'm gonna try this today, just so you know. Please do and report back. Cause the sweet and the heat will absolutely you'll be like, oh, oh, oh. Oh my god. Oh my god. Exactly. Exactly. Don't knock it to you, try it. But no, it was it was a solid, it was a solid interview. I loved it. And honestly, it'd be it'd be really dope if we could do that almost every live show. Have have have somebody come on and interview them live at wherever we are. You know what I mean? And then do some.

SPEAKER_05

That's a great idea.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and then of course, trivia to hand out merch and stuff like that. I think that's a good way to get merch out to people. Do trivia, you get you know, you get the answer right, you get some merch. You know what I'm saying? Like, I think that's a good way to make that happen.

SPEAKER_03

So um but other than that, I mean here's to like nine more seasons, Morty 99, 99 years of FMJ podcast.

SPEAKER_04

That was a brilliant reference. Yeah, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will see myself out, but no, um, other than that, everybody had a good time. I don't know where Templeton went, because I would have loved to get his thoughts on it.

SPEAKER_05

Miss Meesy. Maybe he went to round a 10k. Probably.

SPEAKER_04

Like you guys haven't heard him at all. No, no, not one time. Not even snoring. Really? Yeah, not even snoring. So it's almost like he just just up and left his desk, or but he's there.

SPEAKER_08

What if he got kidnapped?

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean he's there?

SPEAKER_08

Like, do you hear him? No. Nothing.

SPEAKER_04

That's crazy. Radio Slap's not there. That's crazy. What if this is a real life?

SPEAKER_05

Oh shit. Come on. We did hear like a car drive by earlier. We did. I did hear I did hear a car.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe they drove by screen.

SPEAKER_05

And the door open. We heard the door open. We heard birds. What if the bird snatched him?

SPEAKER_09

No, we're gonna be stop. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

They're making a Netflix show on us. No, they're not. And we're gonna make a lot of money, and then there's gonna be a we're gonna host a fight. No, we're not. We're gonna bring back Conor McGregor.

SPEAKER_04

Yes! Yes, yes, y'all. Yes. I'm tired of y'all. Anyway, we we we are we're over time. We gotta we gotta wrap this up. Um if if if you guys missed it, um, we did record it. It's out. That episode is out. I think I think it I think you'll enjoy it. And if you guys missed it, we will keep everybody posted when we decide to do another live episode. And you can join us if you would like to. Um we'll we'll try to do it well more in advance than like, you know, a couple of weeks. We'll we'll give you guys the opportunity to really, you know, decide if you want to go or not. But yeah, we'll we'll keep you posted and we hope to see a lot of people there. That's that's kind of what I'm hoping for. But other than that, um, who wants nope, no, let me, let me, let me, let me back it up. It's high time that Grizz asks us a question.

SPEAKER_05

I got I got a good one. I got a good one. Alright, so I've as you guys know, I got a new apartment this year and I've been sleeping a lot in this bed I bought off of Amazon. Don't come at me, Gen Z. I don't like Amazon either. I just needed a cheap ass bed. But it had me thinking if you buy a bigger bed, you're left with more bedroom, but less bedroom. And if you don't get me, you don't get the fuck if you don't get the fuck out of here with that fucking nonsense.

SPEAKER_08

It took me a second to fucking process it. You don't get the fuck out of here.

SPEAKER_04

You have more bedroom, but you have less bedroom. Like, like I got it. No, I got it, I got it. Listen, there's no scientific explanation for that. Because both things are true, you have more bedroom, but you have less bedroom, all at the same time. And how can you have both? What do you mean? How can you have both? Your bed is bigger. Your bed is bigger. No, that's no, that's to two totally different conversations. Two totally different conversations. Apples and oranges, my dude. Apples and oranges. Because your bed is bigger, so you have more bed room. Okay, so I have a question you put it in your bedroom and now you have less bedroom because you don't have as much space in the bedroom available. because you now have more bedroom.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, would you want more bedroom or more bedroom?

SPEAKER_04

That's a good fucking question. I would rather have. Fuck, I'd rather have more bedroom. Not bedroom, but bedroom.

SPEAKER_05

You want more space in the room or bigger bed?

SPEAKER_04

I want more bedroom, not bedroom. Because like I want bigger bed. You want bigger bed. I want a bigger bed. See, listen, it's just it's just me. So like my bed's perfect right like it's the I listen just so we're clear I could let I could do a twin.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_04

I don't need I don't need a massive mattress.

SPEAKER_09

I could do a cot. Yeah I can I can do a cot. Give me a chair. Give me the plate of mattress bro are you kidding me?

SPEAKER_05

I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lie I respect the fuck out of that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah like I don't I don't need I don't need a lot of space to sleep.

SPEAKER_08

I'm just fucking sleeping there right like I don't I don't need all that room I could I can't you're fucking and sleeping or just fucking sleeping chill chill I'm fucking sleeping.

SPEAKER_04

I'm fucking sleeping sleeping is getting fucked. Okay. I'm sleeping so fucking hard in this bitch. So fucking hard oh I'm fucking sleeping so fucking hard man I'm sorry. But no like like my point is I would rather have more space in my room to do activities right in case I want to like just jump up one day and do a cartwheel or a backflip. Or twister or twister naked twister well that's what the bigger bed's for but no because how do you play twister on a bit on a bed how do you play twister on a bed that's almost impossible because it's hard to you know stay up right like everybody's losing or whore did you just call me a whore I said or whore someone's winning yeah well yeah no you're you're not wrong somebody's winning somebody's definitely losing you know what I'm saying like sucks to suck you haven't worked on your core strength look at me anyway you let us know would you rather have more bedroom or more bedroom you let us know the wonders of the English language anyway fun and games let's do this another wonderful would you rather would you rather have your favorite celebrity follow you or like one of your posts would you rather have your favorite celebrity follow you or like one of your posts when you say follow you mean like on the gram or like on the gram or Facebook or or anything like that on social media would you rather have them follow you on social media or like one of your posts which one would you rather my post okay that's easy so that's that's easy I like the idea of I'm gonna dissect this I like the idea of them liking my post because that means they saw what I posted and in and it resonated with them to such a level that they physically was like I would like to acknowledge in front of everyone that I like this and I think that that's really cool.

SPEAKER_05

That's powerful but that could go away that dopamine could go away and then it'll be lost forever. But then I'd have that moment to look back on like oh my favorite celebrity really liked this one thing I did.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah the one time that like 10 years ago you remember that one time 10 years ago when I impressed so and so and then and then you become the like the the person who's living in the past. Yep.

SPEAKER_05

Right you become the like jock that never left high school right you peaked in high school you remember that one time but then if they follow you follow me that would mean that they really love what you like so much that they're they want to stick they want to stick around to see what I do next. Right. Which means that they are they don't just they don't see what I did in the moment they're interested in what I'm going to do in the future.

SPEAKER_08

You betcha and I I think I like that more I I I was gonna say I lean toward that I lean I lean I lean I lean I lean I I don't know but no I do like I do sure go ahead go ahead Yeti my response is this I'd rather do the like of the post because if they follow you whatever you did you have to maintain you have to Okay what happened I heard Templeton do you well you gotta say something you can't just pause and he's talking to somebody Yeah we we feel like we're in on something he's not talking to us Hello Templeton We're muted anyways as I was saying as I was saying if they follow me I whatever they liked I have to continue doing I'm not much of a social media person so that seems exhausting to me so the one like and here's the thing and you don't know if that one like leads to a communication they could DM you oh shit slipping and sliding here's my thing though if they follow you I would assume they're probably already DM'd you you know what I mean not necessarily okay but not not necessarily will you get a DM from one like just because you impressed them that one time and just because you wanted to stalk them no no my my my follows are very intentional on that one yeah my follows are very intentional is it just me yes oh okay you really gonna let me fly on that one at the next case hey remember that conversation we just had about you know going on vacation by yourself that's what you need to do that's yeti that's yet am I the only one going absolutely absolutely you are there's I don't I don't know what to tell you on the Saint Louis enjoy yeah have fun take take lots of pictures yeah right oh shit so anyway you let us know would you rather have a celebrity follow you on social media or like one of your posts which seems more impressive to you because I kind of like how Grizz broke that down like you know what I mean like you like they like they liked my post back in 2012 congratulations good job way to go what the fuck do you want from me I remember the one point basic what are we doing right what are we doing what what are we doing like what the fuck so anyway I remember there's one time in band camp of course yeah no I knew that's where I knew that's where he was going with that anyway anyway I don't hear twice who wants a fun fact he said he walked into it twice got you bitch um don't worry I'm only mad at me for not hearing you the first time Chris you gotta understand that door does swing both ways it hit me both times through I'm like hey what was that Chris just getting beat up by a door uh yeti your face screams oh it do you hear something on Tembleton's end again yeah it's yeah do we want to TV do we want to do it do we want to do it do I unmute and we sure as shit ain't washing it I don't even think I washed my hands before this all right chicken going into the bowl sounds like a TikTok video I actually drank again last night oh shit I gotta stop okay we got a little bit of flour oh now we're gonna add a little cornstarch but people are gonna tell you add a half a cup and then add a cup of this and add a little dash of that it just don't matter what does matter is I can't find the garlic powder.

SPEAKER_07

Hit it with a little garlic powder like I'm worried about my sodium get this nice and gross.

SPEAKER_04

Some people can mix the batter beforehand I don't care okay I'm gonna mute that um all right so as I was saying I'm dead who wants a fun fact like anybody let's hear it okay what the fuck is happening today you know that babies actually don't see in black and white well that's that I do know because I have a newborn or had a newborn that's cheating that's cheating yeah he knew the answers already he went to the back of the book on that one Grizz that's what he did already he did bro yeah he did he's like oh I know this one yeah oh so you remember the uh math trick that he showed us no that's the big that's the month I don't know why you're laughing Grizz because you like the math trick you were doing that was a good math trick yeah back in fifth grade anyway newborns don't see in black and white this is what their world looks like the world looks very different through their eyes contrary to popular belief babies are not born

Baby Vision Fun Fact And Wrap

SPEAKER_04

seeing only in black and white their color vision is limited though especially with red newborns can detect some intense colors but it's as though the saturation dial is turned down this is because the eye's cone cells which detect color are not fully mature at birth. Over the first few months babies gradually refine their color vision by approximately two months old they can distinguish red and green and by four months old their color perception is much more like an adult's although colors may not be quite as vivid.

SPEAKER_05

So there you go babies do not see in black and white what's up do you remember your vision of your life because I don't no I don't I I I truly don't I wish I could I wish I could like rec recall memories from like really young but I think the earliest memories I can remember is probably like five years old four years old.

SPEAKER_04

Okay okay yeah somewhere somewhere around there but I don't I don't remember um you know not being able to see color or that well you know that would be interesting yeah to to to see how colors look when you're younger that would be that'd be actually kind of crazy like for sure isn't it like the way the way our bodies fucking adapt and grow and change over time it's fucking wild.

SPEAKER_05

So but don't it's kind of like you know don't wait till you're perfect. Right. Like just launch right now like like it say you know it said that when babies are born their eyes aren't basic basically color receptors aren't fully developed.

SPEAKER_10

Right.

SPEAKER_05

And it's like instead of waiting until they're fully developed which could take four more months you know like you just just babies are just moving they're just moving they're living in the moment do it.

SPEAKER_04

Yep they're living in the moment they're doing what they they're doing what they can with what they have and that's that's that is a good lesson to learn from babies and and their color vision. Yep just get going you'll get better at it later. Yep eventually exactly give it time to develop you gotta you that's the thing they gotta give it time give it some time exactly so there you go do with that information what you will babies do see color just not as vividly as we do.
