The microphones are glitching, the vibes are late-night, and somehow we’re convinced a ghost named Jeffrey Donnie is living in our equipment. From that chaotic start, we slide into real entertainment news, including a moment to remember Sam Neill and the strange way life can take a turn even after someone beats bigger health battles.

Then things get spooky and weird: Hideo Kojima says he wants to scan a “real ghost” for his upcoming horror game OD, which turns into a full debate about haunted recordings, paranormal “stages,” and whether ghosts are always demonic or just sharing the same space. We also hit the God of War TV series curveball with a major recast after filming has already started, and we throw out our best Kratos casting picks while arguing what actually makes a great adaptation.

The heart of the night is the FIFA World Cup in the United States. We talk soccer for new fans, break down stuff like stoppage time and offside in plain English, and share the best cultural moments we’ve seen online: visitors discovering ranch, free refills, and how different real Americans feel compared to the media stereotype. From Seattle match-day energy to “nice vs kind,” we land on why a global sports event can pop everyone’s bubble in a good way.

Hit play, then tell us: what’s been your biggest World Cup takeaway so far? Subscribe, share with a friend, and leave us a review so more people can find the show.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no, I'm being serious because my microphone. Okay. I have like seven different options.

SPEAKER_03

Cool. I was like, is there a PS? Did you just echo? What the fuck's going on with our mics today? What the fuck?

SPEAKER_07

We can't hear you. Number one.

SPEAKER_01

Number two, what was that about?

SPEAKER_07

Right in the middle of the what was that about?

SPEAKER_08

How do I sound? How do I sound now?

SPEAKER_07

Why why are you doing this?

SPEAKER_11

Because my microphone went out twice while you were while you guys are in the middle of talking. My microphone keeps going out.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I'm tired. I'm gonna it probably is. I'm gonna tell you right now, there is nothing you're gonna pick that's gonna sound better than your microphone.

SPEAKER_11

The one that keeps fucking going in and out. Yeah, that's that sounds great right now.

SPEAKER_12

I can hear you now.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, I know you can. Yeah. It's fucking working right now. Yeah, yeah. In two minutes, it's gonna fucking die again.

SPEAKER_03

Must be nice. At least it works sometimes.

SPEAKER_11

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

Well, anyway. All you have to do, all you have to do is when you're talking, pay attention to the screen. Oh, I can see. No, I know, but like sometimes I don't look over there.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

So I test it.

SPEAKER_07

That's the only thing you're gonna have to do. Yeah, yeah, you'll just have to be on top of it. So anyway.

SPEAKER_03

For the benefit of the people listening, like 50% of the people here today are having microphone issues.

SPEAKER_07

Let's run around the room and check pulses. Because fuck the whole intro.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, wait, wait. You're not gonna I'm not even gonna fucking do it.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not gonna fucking do it. I don't care. I don't care, stop it, stop it.

SPEAKER_06

I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody wants to go intro.

SPEAKER_07

Let's go around the room. Let's go around the room. Nope, let's go around the room and check pulses. We're gonna start with Yeti. What's your pulse look like right now, there, buddy?

SPEAKER_11

I didn't dump the fucking podcast in a goddamn month. The fucking shit's falling apart. I got you fucking fucking revolting on fucking not doing the fucking intro. This is fucking bullshit. 11 30 at night. I'm a 42-year-old man, 43-year-old man. I should be in fucking bed right now. Doesn't even know what's age doing.

SPEAKER_07

What's my age again? What's my age again?

SPEAKER_12

Somebody needs to come over here and rock my ass.

SPEAKER_09

Daddy needs to go to bed, he bugs. Anyways, I've missed y'all. I love y'all.

SPEAKER_05

But fuck this microphone.

SPEAKER_11

Well,

Burgers And Bad Theme Parks

SPEAKER_11

okay, so um Getty stressed. Besides that, um, I listened to the past two episodes and I just real quick, uh, just to kind of join the burger conversation. I think my go-to uh burger is drive-thru burger is probably gonna be Whopper. With a little cheese on that bad boy. It's fucking delicious.

SPEAKER_03

It tastes like who gets whoppers without cheese in these times?

SPEAKER_11

Uh like what are we cavement? Poor people do. Ones that can't afford cheese.

SPEAKER_07

I was gonna say brokies, but I was like, that's probably that's probably rude, right?

SPEAKER_08

Like it's not, it's a fucking piece of cheese. Slap that bitch on there and go to town.

SPEAKER_05

Throw some cheese on that bitch. Cheese.

SPEAKER_11

And then the uh the the amusement park that I would say is hot garbage. You didn't mention this, but remember Kentucky Kingdom? Yeah, yeah. We went there and we were like, this is some bullshit. So that's probably my least favorite. That's cool. So that's a good idea. Yeah, I just wanted to actually yeah, I've been saving these. I pocketed these for the conversation because I listened to them and I wanted to be part of it, and I missed them.

SPEAKER_07

Well, that's nice.

SPEAKER_11

Other than that, uh, tomorrow we're celebrating my daughter's birthday. She will be one next week. Is that crazy, right? Yes. On the 24th, she will be one. Once she gets in the job, yeah. I'll I've already I've already I've already fucking put on applications for her. So I'm hoping to get callbacks.

SPEAKER_07

She'll be driving next week.

SPEAKER_11

Hands down.

SPEAKER_09

So yeah. That's what's going on in my life.

SPEAKER_07

Good, good. Oh yeah. Sounds pretty chill. Uh Grizz, what's your pulse look like?

SPEAKER_12

You know, it's not that bad. That's cool. Like, like, really.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you. Thank you, Ollie.

SPEAKER_08

Jesus Christ. That was the longest, fastest response ever.

SPEAKER_07

No, so just so we're clear, right? Like, that was such the family guy episode where Kohog legalizes marijuana. And then like, and now, so now we're gonna check the weather with Ollie. And it goes in, he's like, Oh yeah, it's not too bad.

SPEAKER_12

That's so funny. Uh I mean, like, in the grand scheme of things, I feel like, yeah, right now is probably hard for a lot of people. Uh, I'm no different than anyone else, really. Uh, I'm just at a spot where like it feels like I have to weather a storm. And when you take a second and like appreciate the eye of the storm, and you kind of like zoom out, and you're like, uh, it's really not that big a deal. Like, you're gonna get through it, and then there's gonna be there's the other side, and then you get to go back to doing whatever you were doing. But right now, you just gotta hunker down and hold on for a bit. And absolutely. So it's really not that bad.

SPEAKER_05

It's not that bad. You know, it's not too bad. Thanks, Ollie.

SPEAKER_12

I would I would say, I would say, like, I'm doing pretty chill right now. Well, good.

SPEAKER_07

All things considered. All things considered. That's good. Uh keep up, keep, keep that up. Obviously, we're here. Chit chat, you know, whatever. Yeah. Sidebar, whatever it is you gotta do.

SPEAKER_12

Um I have this like overwhelming guilt of burdening people with shit I'm going through, but it could probably make good content. So maybe I'll open up about it eventually.

SPEAKER_11

You're not. Hey, no, since we have like uh like a TED talk, we'll call it Grizz Talk. Yeah. Grizz talk.

SPEAKER_07

I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_12

That could be like a stinger for like a segment.

SPEAKER_07

It could, yeah, it could, it could be. And now welcome to Grizz Talk. I think Grizz just comes in. I think Grizz just comes in stroking his beard, and he's like, it's not too bad.

SPEAKER_10

Join me next week. Join me next week.

SPEAKER_01

Like, that's that's all it is.

SPEAKER_10

You know, literally like the two-second clip of this random sentence.

SPEAKER_07

And then now brought to you by FMJ Podcast, Chris Talk. And he's like, it's not that bad. Thanks for joining my Chris Talk. And perfect, dynamite guys. That's it. It's all we need.

SPEAKER_12

That's a fucking gold.

SPEAKER_07

I like it. I like it. We'll we'll we'll piece it together, we'll work on that. But I'm glad so far, so far, so good. Alright. So Templeton? What's up? What'd your pulse look like?

SPEAKER_03

Uh it's alright. Um, today was a very, very shitty day. Like work-wise and stuff. It's a long day. But other than that, I'm doing alright, man.

SPEAKER_07

Good to hear.

SPEAKER_03

Except for this shitty ass microphone that doesn't work anymore.

SPEAKER_07

You'll just have to you'll just have to troubleshoot it. That's all. I'll donate you mine. No anymore. To go from the microphone that doesn't work to the microphone that only works sometimes. That's an upgrade. That's an upgrade, baby. That's an upgrade.

SPEAKER_12

Then yeti's like the time it works all the time.

SPEAKER_07

60% of the time it works every time.

SPEAKER_06

So that's good though.

SPEAKER_07

I'm glad everybody's doing well. Um who wants some entertainment news?

Remembering Sam Neill

SPEAKER_11

I do.

SPEAKER_07

Just just Yeti. That's it. I don't know what it's happening right there.

SPEAKER_11

I participated.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, well, I hate to bring the mood down, but s we did lose Sam Neil. He recently passed away uh July 13th at the age of 78 from pneumonia. Unfortunately. If you don't know who Sam Neal is, he was uh Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park. He was in Event Horizon, and he was also in Merlin. Uh just to name a few. Um he had already successfully fought and beaten angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma. Uh through the car. Yeah, I know, it's a whole lot of words, big words. Through uh car T cell therapy prior to the to that illness, so it's like you beat that, and then pneumonia is the one that takes you out. It's like that sucks.

SPEAKER_11

Usually that's the way it happens, though. Usually you get sick and then ammonia is like the back door guy and he creeps up on you and you don't even realize you have it until it I hate to say this, but it's like it's almost too late.

SPEAKER_03

Because you already got like other health issues going on, and then it already sets in and your body just can't can't deal with it.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Yeah, you know, and being especially dealing with um lymphoma or like any kind of can any kind of cancer, you're definitely immunocompromised, so it's like you know, pneumonia and all that kind of shit that that sneaks in and that just wreaks havoc on on immunocompromised bodies.

SPEAKER_11

Because the the symptoms of that is just like correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it like it's like common cold symptoms, yeah?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you just can't breathe pretty well. I used to get pneumonia a lot when I was little because I had like like weak lungs, I had really bad asthma. Okay, and like so I would and also had allergies, like environmental allergies.

SPEAKER_11

Now, is that the same as pumonia?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. What?

SPEAKER_00

What'd you what'd you call it?

SPEAKER_07

Ponia. No. You added you you like you like sounded out the silent letter and then just deleted one letter. So well, two actually. But that's okay. Keep it up.

SPEAKER_10

Welcome to Yeti's talk.

SPEAKER_07

It's not that's not that bad.

SPEAKER_03

We listen, we listen and we judge very heavily.

SPEAKER_00

Uh we listen.

SPEAKER_03

No, but no, I had like I had like very very serious like seasonal allergies. So what would happen is I would have like an allergy attack, and that would cause me to like go into pneumonia, and then I would end up in the hospital.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's that's pretty much that's pretty tough.

SPEAKER_03

All these cartoons we talk about, like Inspector Gadget, Thunder Cat, um, Heathcliff, stuff like that. When I was a kid, like all my memories related to those shows are me being in the hospital. Gotcha. Because that's where I watch them at most of the time. I mean, you can always watch cartoons, but like I spent a lot of time in the hospital, is all I'm trying to say. And your your mic is busted again, buddy.

SPEAKER_07

Is it? Oh yep, he's silent. Unplug, plug her back in, power down, power up. So, um, if you if you if you liked Sam Neil, pay pay pay your respects and have a Sam Neil marathon this weekend if you want to. Watch some Jurassic Park, watch some Merlin, Event Horizon. Peaky Blinders. Apparently he was in that show. Didn't know that.

SPEAKER_03

So is that worth watching? I keep asking because nobody's gonna be able to do it.

SPEAKER_07

I have no idea. I've never watched it.

SPEAKER_03

I like um I like Kelly and Murphy.

SPEAKER_07

I'd say give it a try. I mean, it's if it's good. And if it's available, just give it a try.

Kojima Wants To Scan A Ghost

SPEAKER_07

Won't hurt if you're not out of anything. Um the second thing that I want to bring up, which kind of caught my attention a couple weeks ago, but Hideo Kojima wants to be the first game developer to scan a real ghost for his upcoming horror game.

SPEAKER_12

What do you mean by real ghost? I have questions as well. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_04

We cannot hear anybody.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so what I mean by that, I'll read this real quick. Hideo Kojima wants to take horror research for OD Nock to a level that sounds almost too strange to be real, saying he wants to visit scary locations around the world and become the first game developer to scan an actual ghost. The comment came while Kojima was talking about OD, his upcoming horror project being developed with Xbox Game Studios. He explained that the team has already scanned real locations for the game, but he wants to go even further by capturing the atmosphere of supposedly haunted places and somehow bringing a paranormal entity into the project. He also joked that he wants to win an award for being the first person to do it. Kojima also claimed that strange cracking sounds heard in the OD trailer came from the studio, and that the team even visited a shrine with Microsoft to make sure the game was not cursed. It is hard to tell where the joke ends and the serious creative process begins, but that is exactly why people pay attention whenever Kojima talks about a horror game. Would you play a horror game if it actually used recordings from haunted places? Nope.

SPEAKER_12

You have got to be fucking me. No way. Nope. No way. No way. Every copy of that game is haunted. Haunted. No, shut this man down.

SPEAKER_05

Uh uh. He said nope. Absolutely fucking not.

SPEAKER_07

No, no, no. I don't know. I think that would be like like obviously you guys haven't seen the trailer for OD Nock. And I I do gotta say, it looks pretty fucking intense. And like the the scans that they have, like what they have right now, just for the trailer, peak. Peak graphics. Like, it is damn near lifelike.

SPEAKER_03

You sound like the kind of person that hears a suspicious noise is like, hey, let's go investigate. See what that is. I've already I've already done that. Yeah, I've already done that.

SPEAKER_07

So hi pot, names Kettle. Have we met?

SPEAKER_11

I'll be laying there, and he'd be like, Yo, I heard a noise. I'm like, okay, what are you gonna go do? I'm gonna go check it out. As I say do, he's already gone down the stairs. I'm gonna I'm gonna go check it out. I'm gonna go see what's going on. And I just go back to bed. I'm like, well, if he's alive in the morning, cool. If not, oh well.

SPEAKER_03

I hope he's okay. And I'm the kind of guy who's like, I guess I don't live here anymore.

SPEAKER_07

No, it's it's just listen, I can share space. I can share space, you know, especially with entities that are like invisible, go through walls. I'm good with that. Just don't bother me while I'm sleeping, right? Like, I'm just let me get my rest. It's all I want. Hold on.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

15 minutes later, he's listening to the guys a little bit.

SPEAKER_11

So you're fucking sleeping, right? Mm-hmm. Okay. Can we give this ghost a name? Sure.

SPEAKER_07

Uh Jeffrey.

SPEAKER_11

Jeffrey. Jeffrey Donnie. Jeffrey Donnie is in the corner.

SPEAKER_10

Just staring at you. And you wake up and you see how big is Jeffrey Donnie? Chris!

SPEAKER_01

I'm so dead. Okay, so who's Jeffrey Donnie?

SPEAKER_07

Jeffrey Donnie can be as big as you want him to be. Again, I don't give a fuck. Did you not hear what I just said? Did you not hear what I just said? Just don't bother me while I'm sleeping. That's all I ask. We can share a space. I'm good with that. Do not bother me while I'm sleeping.

SPEAKER_03

We can rip the skin off your face in the morning, but just not at 11 o'clock at night.

SPEAKER_07

That see, that's you going to the extreme, like it's it's it's a dead demon type thing. How do we know it's just that somebody just minding their own fucking business on the uh in a totally different realm than I am? They're just we're just sharing the same space. Okay, well, that's on you. Take the house, Jeffrey Donnie. I live other I live across B D now.

SPEAKER_05

Jeffrey Donnie.

SPEAKER_12

I'm so dead. I I like where Jay's head's at, though, because he's insinuating that what we know is like paranormal activity isn't necessarily like demonic or evil, and assuming that that's the case kind of roots it to uh kind of like a religious connotation, right? Like, because like Christianity or Catholicism believing so heavily in like angels and demons, right? And like that's why we are afraid of ghosts. But like, what if what if what we know is a ghost is just some spirit from another etheral plane?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, that's cool. Y'all take y'all's chances.

SPEAKER_07

I'm gonna keep my face and listen, and that's perfectly a-okay. I'm just saying, coming from my perspective, I'm I'm just like, I can share space. Like I said, as long as you aren't trying to fuck me up and don't bother me while I'm sleeping. We're good.

SPEAKER_03

We're we're we're okay. How do you know he is or is not trying to fuck you up?

SPEAKER_07

I think you would know pretty quickly.

SPEAKER_03

Are you gonna wait until he starts and and when he starts fucking you up, what's you gonna do about it?

SPEAKER_07

I think I think you would know pretty quickly. I mean, at that point, just do what you can.

SPEAKER_12

There's usually signs.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, there are signs that there's that it's not a good pr thing, you know?

SPEAKER_12

Right. It uh uh I feel like paranormal lore is I was searching for the right word. Nope, I feel like paranormal lore is um uh you know uh pretty standard that you see stages before like an aggressive demon. You know, think of like a horror movie, right? They don't open out murdering people right away, or it's stealing a face. There's like stages that I feel like occur. Right. And they'll be uh they'll be like think of like walking into a rattlesnake. Yep, it's gonna rattle first, and that's an indicator, like oh fuck, yeah, before and then like it'll coil up second, and then it'll strike and bite you. Yeah, so I don't think if you run into like a d a demon, I don't think it's gonna kill you right away. It's gonna tease you first, or or or just like let you know, like, hey, back the fuck up, leave me alone.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_05

So that's why I'm like or you could just like or you can just sell the house.

SPEAKER_07

So definitely sell the house. So so here's here's a question for you, Templeton. What if Jeffrey Donnie, right, isn't just attached to the house and he just takes a liking to you and follows you everywhere you go? You can't how you just how do you escape it? Yeah, not Jeffrey Donnie. Jeffrey Donnie, he's a he's a menace. How do you ex how are you escaping it? Fuck it, Jeffrey Donnie. I'm I'm out of here.

SPEAKER_12

We have to for the joke eventually, no.

SPEAKER_07

No.

SPEAKER_03

Self evacuation from the mortal plane.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, but hear me out. So you self-evacuate from the mortal plane, and you go there, and Jeffrey Donnie's like, this is exactly what I wanted. And now he gets to torture your soul, and now he gets to torture your soul for all of eternity. Lose lose, baby. Lose, lose.

SPEAKER_09

You could have just said, you know what, this is my Jeffrey Donnie.

SPEAKER_03

Where the fuck have you been for the last like 10 bro?

SPEAKER_11

No, there's no, no, they are cracking up over the name Jeffrey Donnie. They've been cracking up over the name Jeffrey Donnie. It's cool. Let me fall asleep all the time, okay?

SPEAKER_03

No. Let it fall asleep. How many podcasts have I heard me? Templeton! Templeton! What's your big chance?

SPEAKER_11

No, so I got a question. Like, unless they've got some code name from Jeffrey Dahmer.

SPEAKER_12

Wait, so you did hear it then? He did hear it.

SPEAKER_11

And you guys just calling him Donnie like he's your friend or something from fucking high school. I don't understand.

SPEAKER_12

Well, the funny part is is I said Donnie as he said Johnny or Jeffrey. Said them both together and we just died.

SPEAKER_10

And that was so long ago. No, I know how we got I know. I know.

SPEAKER_12

But you just kept calling him Jeffrey Dottie, and like I could.

SPEAKER_04

I can't.

SPEAKER_00

We can't do these late shows anymore.

SPEAKER_04

We are all too old.

SPEAKER_00

Any any fucking word.

SPEAKER_07

So anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Jeffrey Donnie sounds like he's like he's pretty tormentor.

SPEAKER_04

I'm a waiting for this wall.

SPEAKER_03

Looking like the meaning. I'm watching you without tea.

SPEAKER_08

My stomach hurts. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah, brother. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_07

Alright. Anyway, so 75% of the podcast is like, I'm not playing that game, especially if it's got real ghost entity in it, right? Like, absolutely not. I'm not inviting that into my house.

SPEAKER_05

I, on the other hand, am going to invite it into all your own.

SPEAKER_04

I brought my friend just forgot it.

SPEAKER_12

I'm going live. I'm going live. And now it's into all of our fucking houses because we're supporting his dream. Exactly. As soon as you click in, you can't click out.

SPEAKER_01

You can't click out.

SPEAKER_05

It's already there. The call's coming from inside the house.

SPEAKER_08

That's stupid.

SPEAKER_12

He's got a whole system. He's got clicked out.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Listen, listen. Long game, baby. Long game. And Jeffrey Donnie's gonna come and knock it.

SPEAKER_11

Are you done with entertainment?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

So can I just add one little thing on the never done with entertainment?

SPEAKER_07

That's all I'm saying. What's up? What do you want to add? Yeti. You have to unplug your microphone and plug it back in.

SPEAKER_12

Whatever he wanted to add, the universe did not want to use it.

SPEAKER_07

John Jeffrey Donnie.

SPEAKER_12

He said, shut the fuck up. Jeffrey Donnie is holding your mic, dog.

SPEAKER_01

This is gonna be the running joke.

SPEAKER_10

Okay. So, as I was gonna say before I was really interrupted by Jeffrey Donnie.

God Of War Casting Shock

SPEAKER_04

He really interrupted me.

SPEAKER_05

No, go ahead.

SPEAKER_11

Okay, listen. The TV show that Amazon's uh recording or making right now, producing, uh God of War, their main person tore his bicep hearst. Yeah. Yeah, he's being recasted.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, because he tore his bicep. And it sucks because like if if anyone knows who Ryan Hearst is.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, he was gonna play Kratos. He was on Son of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy. Um he was in Man on Fire.

SPEAKER_07

I think that's where Jeffrey Nani dude.

SPEAKER_12

That's crazy. What'd you say?

SPEAKER_07

What'd you say, Grizz?

SPEAKER_12

Is and Sons of Anarchy, is he like the guy that everyone wants to play? Like uh fuck that one superhero. Is it the younger guy or the older guy?

SPEAKER_11

So you know, you know how you got the main dude? Um the one that Jax? Jax, yeah. The one that was it's his best friend. It's Jax's best friend.

SPEAKER_07

Oh no, Dax. Okay.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, he's the one that was the one like he's the one that separated himself from the biker gang and then he got pulled back in.

SPEAKER_00

Please! I've I've I don't want to go back in.

SPEAKER_03

I never really watched. I watched like Jack Teller is at Houston of Sons of Articade, so I can't I can't help.

SPEAKER_11

No, Jack Teller, that's the old man, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

No, that's the that's the first one.

SPEAKER_12

No, that's Jackson.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, Jack Teller is the is no, it's his best friend. Oh, his friend? Yeah, his best friend. Opie. Opie.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, the dude that played Opie.

SPEAKER_11

OP. Yes. Opie.

SPEAKER_03

I know about the show, but I didn't really watch it, so I can't help.

SPEAKER_12

Is that his name? Opie. Opie Winston. Oh, right. Okay, I see him. I see him. So that guy was gonna play Kratos.

SPEAKER_11

He also played in Walking Dead. He was Alpha in Walking Dead or Omega or whatever. One of one of the Alpha.

SPEAKER_09

Either the beginning or the end, one of the two.

SPEAKER_12

And he can't do the role because of his bicep.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he tore his bicep.

SPEAKER_12

Hmm.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I would assume that would, especially playing as Kratos. I mean, I I can assume that's gonna take a there's a lot of that sucks.

SPEAKER_12

Beta. He played beta.

SPEAKER_11

That's what it was. He played beta in What Walking Dead. Yeah, it's gonna be months to heal. I have no idea. Here's the thing though. Like they've already they said they've already recorded they said they recorded four episodes already, and I just feel like recasting somebody, getting that person in shape of what you want them to be, or to get them into that appearance, that takes time, yes? And by the time you do all that and read, No, they'll just find someone that's already ripped.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'll say, potentially, but you could just always find somebody that's in shape and then okay.

SPEAKER_12

But my question is, are they just gonna green screen this motherfucker in? Probably. Or are they gonna do a full reshoot?

SPEAKER_07

They're not gonna do a full reshoot.

SPEAKER_12

Or do you think they just reshoot the scenes? It's happened before.

SPEAKER_11

They could full reshoot the scenes. Yeah, I think they could do re-redo the scenes, I think.

SPEAKER_12

It's just that's not as much work.

SPEAKER_11

I like Ryan Hearst. I liked him in in uh in Sons of Arn Arcane. From what I know of Kratos, I think he would have played a good Kratos. Who do you think would have been a good Kratos, Jay?

SPEAKER_07

Probably I could like if if Jason Momoa could like kind of kind of veer away from like the goofy side of things, yeah, he could play a pretty good Kratos. He could do a bit of a role.

SPEAKER_03

Looks wise he's already Kratos.

SPEAKER_07

Right. He could do a serious role. He can.

SPEAKER_12

Um, somebody write that for him.

SPEAKER_07

Right. So either either him or I hate to say Dwayne the Rock Johnson.

SPEAKER_03

No, I will not say Dwayne the Rock.

SPEAKER_09

Oh uh no.

SPEAKER_07

Uh-uh. Why not?

SPEAKER_03

I because he's the he plays like basically the same character every time.

SPEAKER_07

Which is Kratos, which is right up his alley.

SPEAKER_03

No, he he's the rock every single time.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, you're not wrong, but Kratos.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I would rather see like triple H is Kratos. I think triple H was too much better.

SPEAKER_09

That's even worse.

SPEAKER_03

Hear me out.

SPEAKER_07

Kratos never loses. So I mean that's perfect for Rock Johnson.

SPEAKER_03

That well, I mean Triple H too.

SPEAKER_07

Don't even need to never do like 2000s. Don't even need to go into his contract, you know what I mean? Like, he can he can be okay with it. But I mean, he like I'm listening.

SPEAKER_03

Grizz could be creative.

SPEAKER_12

No. No, no, no, no. This guy, he was in the first Fast and the Furious. His name's Matt Scholes. I put I sent his picture in the group chat. Oh, you're asking. This guy could, he would just need to bulk.

SPEAKER_07

Oh yeah, he'd have to he'd have to bulk up a lot.

SPEAKER_12

And I don't know his acting chomps, but visually, this guy's face makes me think Kratos.

SPEAKER_03

He reminds me of Okay, what about uh yeah, maybe.

SPEAKER_12

What about Tom Hardy? No. Ooh, I wouldn't mind Hardy, but it would be have to be younger Hardy. Acting wise, he would fucking hail.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, acting wise, acting wise, probably. I I just don't I don't know. I don't I don't Tom Hardy would be difficult.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, maybe if they did order Kratos, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Old many.

SPEAKER_03

This is a theoretical one because the actor himself is like too old and doesn't really do anything anymore, but like at his peak, definitely Russell Crowe.

SPEAKER_12

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, at his peak.

SPEAKER_12

Right before you said that, I I heard the name Russell Crowe. That's crazy. I'm fucking tripping that.

SPEAKER_11

You know what's crazy is I could think of you said you said Jason Jason Momoa, and there's a there's a show called C on Apple. Yep. And this is a screenshot of of him of him from C. If he fucking focuses. Yeah, yeah. What about Gerard Butler? But I could I could see that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Without a doubt, I could see that. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

SPEAKER_07

Gerard Butler, I wouldn't, I wouldn't do Gerard Butler.

SPEAKER_12

Maybe in 2009.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, maybe. Circa 300. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Okay, so is this is this fair to the the reason why I said the rock because he played Hercules. I mean, is Hercules not a vertical?

SPEAKER_07

Hercules is Hercules is literally like in God of War 3, you find out that Kratos and Hercules are related. So yeah, he could easily play Kratos. He's already been there. Been there, done that. Yep, already been there. Been there, known that. He's played a demigod. He can make it happen.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, and he was in Moana. And he was in Moana with that fake ass hair.

SPEAKER_07

With that fake ass hair. Listen, that's our next episode.

SPEAKER_01

They made it a live action.

SPEAKER_07

That's our next episode. We're dripping. Yeti has either something to tell us or ask us or jumps right into Reddit Roulette, but that's up to him.

Reddit Roulette Half A Bed

SPEAKER_11

So since I brought up that little topic, since I brought up that that little piece of entertainment, I'm just gonna go straight into Reddit if that's fine with everyone. Fair enough. Yep. Okay, where am I at? Right here. Okay. You're right there. Yeah, am I the asshole? Sitting in a chair.

SPEAKER_00

With almost no head. How am I not logged in? What?

SPEAKER_07

Uh-oh, Jeffrey Donnie logged you out.

SPEAKER_12

Dude, he's in your electronics, dog. Why did it log me out?

SPEAKER_05

Ghost in the machine.

SPEAKER_12

What does Jeffrey Donnie look like?

SPEAKER_09

No, no, we are not having that conversation.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

We're paying that.

SPEAKER_04

Go ahead, Betty.

SPEAKER_11

Number one through five. Goded here. It was so peaceful. I said one through five.

SPEAKER_12

I know. You could have just said one. One through one.

SPEAKER_09

One through one point one. I've done that before. Fine. One through one point four. One point three. Okay. One.

SPEAKER_04

The side effect is perfect.

SPEAKER_12

Because it do feel like that sometimes.

SPEAKER_11

It does. It does. This is actually great. Perfect. Am I the asshole for thinking it's absurd? My husband only made half the bed. Oh, what? He only made his side.

SPEAKER_07

He only made his side. If I had to guess, he only made his.

SPEAKER_12

Hold on. Did he make his side while she was still asleep in it?

SPEAKER_05

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_12

No fucking idea.

SPEAKER_05

Give us the context.

SPEAKER_11

Alright, so I recently had my first baby. I'm exhausted and doing my best to keep the house in order. I told my husband yesterday I would really appreciate it if he s self-initiated some cleaning without me nagging. Example, garbage is one of his dedicated tasks, and would like it to be like the old, like the age old couple drama. I have to ask him if he'll empty it, even though he said even though he can, even though he too can see it's full. Tonight I come into the bedroom to find half the bed made. Oh. I asked my homie I asked my husband, finally made his half of the bed, and he said because there was stuff on my side of the bed, the stuff was a couple of pieces of clothing, a breast pump. I could easily have gone on a nearby chair.

SPEAKER_08

He was angry that I asked him about it. I fucking love it. I love it here. My dude's here. Yeah, my dude's here. I'm fucking wild.

SPEAKER_12

I can't inside the bed. The breast pump was out. Yeah. What?

SPEAKER_07

He didn't want to touch it. He didn't want to touch it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

There are a lot of dudes that should not be having kids.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, brother. I'm gonna play Devil Devil's Advocate for a second.

SPEAKER_07

Here we go.

SPEAKER_11

He doesn't need one! No, hear me out. Okay. As being a new father.

SPEAKER_07

This is something that damn, that's crazy. Jeffrey Donnie strikes again.

SPEAKER_12

Listen, I'm not gonna say you shouldn't have said what you were gonna say.

SPEAKER_03

That's the universe balancing things out. All right.

SPEAKER_11

So all I was gonna say was gonna come. I know I can understand how the thought process because it was her stuff, and when women have a baby, they go through different emotions, and it's really stressful for everyone involved, including especially the mothers. I mean, they have this baby inside of them, then they don't, and their bodies changing emotionally. They're they're I don't want to say they're struggling, but there's a lot going on for a woman when they have a baby.

SPEAKER_03

I think oh my fucking god, dude. That's beautiful.

SPEAKER_07

You know, part of me wanted to just like nod.

SPEAKER_03

Just nod and wait, boys. Just nod and wait.

SPEAKER_11

Just be like I'm gonna fucking speedrun this shit.

SPEAKER_12

So I can't wait to say what I have to say, but please continue. No, no, no, I know.

SPEAKER_11

Um, but I just think I think there could be a little okay. He's fucking no bum for not doing this shit, but like he could have been a little afraid to touch the stuff because maybe he she was doing something with it, or it needed to be in a certain location. Because I know with like Emily's breast pumps, they had to be a certain way or whatever, because you don't want to get them dirty, you know, you don't know if she was in the middle of doing something with them, so that like there could be a little a little bit of afraid of uh of scaredness or whatever to even touch it. So that's why I'm playing devil's advoc advocate. But if it was me, I would have just moved it and been like, yo, or use your fucking voice and be like, hey, do you need this? Like, can I move it? And I'm making the bed. That would have avoided all that.

SPEAKER_03

Or just make the bed and put the shit back where it was.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but again, I I hear you.

SPEAKER_12

But all those things put it away, put it in a place, or or ask, hey, can I put this away? I'm making the bed. Well, right, right. And to be fair, I don't know the big thing is communication, but the problem is is I think he's just a lazy piece of shit. He is, he is, or or correction, not lazy, selfish piece of shit. Selfish. Because she said that he can see that the trash needs to go out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

And it was, you know, when they m moved in together, they probably had a okay, I'm gonna do these tasks, you do these tasks. You know what I'm saying? Like that's right, splitting the responsibilities. Yeah, so he already knows he's supposed to be doing this thing, and then he still doesn't. He waits for her to tell him, yeah, because he needs to be vocally activated to see.

SPEAKER_03

He's just yeah, he's a piece of shit. But what I'm thinking is there there's not any context provided to like guide me to this conclusion, but I think that it's probably like he works and she's a stay-at-home mom, and he feels like you know, I because I go to my job and I do my job and I provide money for the household, like all this other stuff isn't necessarily my responsibility.

SPEAKER_12

Then that motherfucker hasn't lived single. Cause I tell you what, I work, I take care of my responsibilities, and I cook and I clean and I fucking try to take care of my apartment. Like he's just like a piece of shit.

SPEAKER_03

It's like a common, common conflict between like new parents.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I I get it. It's a it's a relationship dynamic that is toxic, and a lot of people subscribe to it subconsciously based on gender roles. But if people just live single, then they have to take care of themselves a little bit, and then when they move in with a partner, they won't have to have this mommy or daddy complex of somebody taking care of them.

SPEAKER_07

That part, that part, Grizz. That part.

SPEAKER_12

So now I got I obviously got triggered by this guy. Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, no, this dude didn't know. I mean, whatever everything Grizz just said is 100% accurate, I feel, and I agree with him. I just feel like the dude's lazy and just like, bro, just just fucking do your part, bro. Like, I just I have a hard time like understanding people's process because like with me and my wife, like we've never like been like, hey, you do this, you do that. I just I see her doing this stuff, and I'm like, you know what? She can't be doing all this stuff. I gotta help out. Like, I just feel like I have to help out. And if I don't help out, and if I don't feel if if I don't help out, I feel like I'm not doing my job as a husband. I mean, that's just plain and simple. Yeah, you just let's do things. Yeah, like right. I don't get it. Like, it's not it's not hard.

SPEAKER_12

You just fucking do the things, you fucking do it like take care of shit, you know. Right, no, you just know how to like take care of your responsibilities. Yeah, all right.

SPEAKER_11

Make the whole bed. You know what I used to do? So funny story. I used to hate making my bed, right? Yeah, so I used to make my bed, put a sleeping bag on top of it, and just sleep in the sleeping bag, and I would just crazy can we listen.

SPEAKER_12

Can we talk about how fucking smart that is, bro? I hate making my bed, dog. I fucking hate it.

SPEAKER_07

Grizzly's about to go invest in a sleeping bag. Like, I do make my bed.

SPEAKER_12

I make my bed, but I fucking hate it because I have to walk on around this night. I just need to look up a video on how to make your bed because nobody fucking. Right, plus yeah.

SPEAKER_03

The citizen bag thing is Gordon, or you just fitted seats are one of the most evil things that's ever been created. Like you get this quarter on, that quarter pops off. You get this quarter on, that quarter pops off.

SPEAKER_12

You know, uh the hotel I work at doesn't use fitted sheets. They just they use uh a couple different sheets to tuck it.

SPEAKER_00

Fucking done, bro.

SPEAKER_07

They tuck it and tuck it.

SPEAKER_12

They just tuck the sheets, uh they they don't use the folded sheets.

SPEAKER_03

Then you lay down and all the corners pop off.

SPEAKER_07

Give me give me one second.

SPEAKER_03

Give me one second, it's like lay down for the jokes.

SPEAKER_05

That's the first time I have you're fighting this sheet like I can't get out of the whole fucking oh okay, so verdict is not the asshole, right?

SPEAKER_07

100%. Okay, so yeah, dude, just no asshole detective. Yeah, just just make the bed. Like crazy. Just just make the bed. Do the things, do what you're supposed to do, and and call it a day. Stop being stop being lazy. Bump! As Kendrick would say. Bump! So anyway, um I think we have a topic to get into, but before we do that Okay, before we do that, I would like to pose a question for you guys.

SPEAKER_12

No, you can't just bravo, dog. Like you can't just skip over that. Like that didn't just happen. My guy, the goat, the goat. He ate left no crumbs. He played good tonight. He busted out the fancy died wear. Oh my god. Paper plates.

SPEAKER_07

I had to take I had to tuck my napkin in and my shirt and everything. It was crazy. It was wild. Jeffrey Donnie strikes again.

SPEAKER_12

God damn. What? What? You don't you know what I thought you were gonna do?

SPEAKER_05

What?

SPEAKER_12

I thought you were gonna say, have you ever been trying to make the bed and you forgot where to put the breast pump?

SPEAKER_07

A part of me wanted to go that way, but I was like, nah.

SPEAKER_12

Have you ever seen the trash and realized that you forgot to take the take the trash out?

SPEAKER_07

No, you seen it there. You were just like, eh. I'm a little too tired.

SPEAKER_11

Speaking of trash, so I cut the grass on Tuesday, and I thought like after I got done cutting the grass, I'm like, I thought it was fucking Wednesday. So I took the trash out. I got gathered up all the trash and took it out there.

SPEAKER_07

It sat on the curb for like two days, didn't it?

SPEAKER_08

I get off work. I go to grab it and I'm like still fall. How the fuck is it still fall?

SPEAKER_10

One day or fucking Tuesday.

SPEAKER_12

One day we've waited when day does it go out? Wednesday night.

SPEAKER_09

Does yours get picked up Thursday?

SPEAKER_12

It runs on Thursday.

SPEAKER_09

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

So it's set out there from Tuesday, Wednesday to Thursday. Oh, so yeah, it's it's sat out there for two whole days. Two whole days. Yeah, I do. Just my neighbors are awesome.

SPEAKER_07

There you go. That's funny. Oh, anyway.

World Cup Final And First Impressions

SPEAKER_07

Do we have a topic to get to? We do. I think so. It's your face, right? It's always my face. What are we talking about today?

SPEAKER_12

Football. Football? The biggest, the biggest cup. The biggest cup? In the world. Oh?

SPEAKER_07

Will it cover everything down there in my nether region?

SPEAKER_11

Or it even covers the little dangly part of Florida.

SPEAKER_12

And some. It even covers the little dangly part of Florida.

SPEAKER_07

You know what? We don't need a panhandle anymore. It's the little dangly part of the United States.

SPEAKER_11

I always looked at Florida being the penis of the state.

SPEAKER_07

That's a weird position for a penis. It just hangs, yeah? I mean, it does, but like it's a weird position. Anyway. Anyway, I think we're talking about the World Cup. Because the world needs cups sometimes to protect itself from getting kicked in the balls. While I was playing that football. You see what I did there? Do you see what I did there? It was all jokes. It's all jokes. I swear to God, it's all jokes. Every time. Every every single fucking time. But we are talking about the World Cup. The finals are happening, as we just found out, uh, this Sunday at 3 p.m. I believe.

SPEAKER_06

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.

SPEAKER_07

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. So just if you are if you are Argentina? Yep. And Spain. Spa Espanna. So if you are a big uh fan of soccer, you got that to look forward to. It has been interesting watching and and getting more acquainted with the sport because I remember it was some years ago, but me and Miss Meese, Me Cheeks to those with the name of Yeti, but me and Miss Meeseeks were at like I want to say B dubs or something, you know, back when B dubs was good. I'm sorry. That was not shaded toward B dubs. I swear to God. I promise. Nah, I mean it was sound good in facts, dude. Just saying. That sounds like a cut nature.

SPEAKER_12

Cotton nature food replicate. Yeah, yeah. You can't be called Buffalo Wow Wings and have fucking mid-ass wings.

SPEAKER_07

That's what I mean. Like their shit is just mid as fuck.

SPEAKER_11

Their wings are fucking hard as fuck.

SPEAKER_07

They are. They're like little bricks. They're like little anything round bricks.

SPEAKER_12

Buffalo wow.

SPEAKER_07

Buffalo wow bricks. That's why we call it B dubs. Anyway. That's the B and B dubs. Um we so we were at B dubs and we were watching a soccer match. I don't remember who it was between, but it was like we didn't understand most of what was going on. Did we understand that there were grown ass men running back and forth on a field for 90 minutes trying to trying to make a goal? Absolutely. We got that. That part's easy. But like when they're like, yellow card, red card, okay, have no idea what that means. And then like we know it goes for 90 minutes. We caught like the tail end, and of course it just kept going. Like the time kept going. And we're like, why are they still running? Like, is 90 minutes not up? Like, what's going on here? So we didn't know all of that. You know what I mean? Like, at that time where like that that that that extra time that they play is like the time they're supposed to make up for like the whatever it is, the the penalties, the stoppage of of the clock and all that kind of stuff. So um, Yeti, Jeffrey Donnie struck you again, just uh just FYI. I know, I know. Pray, you need to pray to the microphone gods and leave and leave Jeffrey Donnie alone, brother. But no, it it's been it's been really cool, right? Learning more and more about soccer through the World Cup, seeing that the you the US hosted it for the first time. And what I wanted to bring to the table before I open up the uh open up the floor to everybody else,

Visitors Discover Real America

SPEAKER_07

I think the biggest takeaway for me for for um the the the US hosting the World Cup was being on TikTok, seeing all these videos of all of these people from all over the world. All over the world coming to the US I not seen a bad video yet, but a lot of them, most of them came to the US and it really kind of they got to see what was behind the curtain, right? Like they finally got to mingle with the people of the United States, and they learned very quickly that media is bad. Bad person because they have been told that we are just a bunch of gun-toting idiots around here. But when you get people from like Africa, Argentina, wherever, going to Texas, saying they are the nicest people they ever met, and they they they had Texas brisket, instantly fell in love. Got people coming from the UK talking about, you know, uh uh there was one girl that went on a 40-minute rant, 40 4-0, by the way, 40-minute rant about how ranch, how good ranch is, because they don't have ranch where they're from. So I'm like, I'm in my bubble over here, like I thought everybody had ranch, right? So it's like right, it's kind of opened a lot of people's eyes, and you know, like where everybody is kind of like on the same page, they're just being told by mommy and daddy that you know they're bad over there. Don't go to that person's house, don't stay out of their yard, they don't they don't like you over there. And it's like for me, it's been a treat. It's been a very, very, very big treat to see all of this unfolding. So I don't know how you guys feel about that, but seeing that, you know, a lot of people from all all walks of life, every part of the every part of the world came over here and said, the US people, the people are actually pretty fucking decent. I don't know how y'all feel about that, but what has been your biggest takeaways from the World Cup so far?

SPEAKER_03

I I I I think I mostly agree with you. Like, I So like by and large, I think American people, and it's probably true for people everywhere, mostly we just mind our own fucking business. Like we go to work, we do what we gotta do, we come home, we take care of our household, and then we read the process. We don't worry about what people in Sweden are doing, or what people in fucking Kosovo are doing, or Kenya are doing, or Taiwan are doing, like just our daily routine is all that we're concerned with.

SPEAKER_11

No, I get I I I agree with that because like I think the biggest thing that the World Cup is I honestly I think it brings everyone together, to be honest with you. Um there's a lot of people talking football right now. There's a lot of people wanting to be part of it right now. Um I mean, I I you can go down the street over in anywhere around here in Covington, in Cincinnati, and you can just see people with signs, you know, watch a World Cup here, you know, and and it's creating buzz. I mean, millions of people watch football. It's it's the the Hinch World Cup. It's literally every I'm gonna say every country. I know it's not every country, but that's what it basically is every country, and it's like you said, it we have social media now, so it even brings even more people together because like you just said, people are posting videos of their experiences in the US, and it's completely different than what they're showed and taught where they're from. And then the same goes for us. Like we're kind of like what what what Templeton said is we don't pay attention to other cultures as much. We are we we kind of like and I I feel like countries are in their own little bubble dealing with their own issues and problems. But when you start integrating different countries for an event of this magnitude, those bubbles are gonna pop and people are gonna intermean with each or intermingle with each other, and you're gonna learn things, and you're gonna be you're just you're you're just gonna be become more knowledgeable with different cultures and what oh my god, the worst possible time.

SPEAKER_07

I know it's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy. I'd just just unplug, unplug, replug.

SPEAKER_03

The other the the other point that I was gonna make is like because it is a competition, it brings out the competitive spirit of everybody.

SPEAKER_11

It does, it does. The last thing I was gonna say is one of my favorite things I've seen is people talking about how much they love refills. Oh, yeah. Because in other countries they don't have refills, they don't do for refills. Um to be fair though, to be fair though, a lot of other countries they don't use a lot of ice, they don't have I don't want to say the means, but they just don't use a lot a lot of ice for whatever reason. So they get when they get a large drink, it's gonna be filled to the top with the drink and not ice. Like here in America, we fucking fill those some people love their ice cold beverages, so they fill the cup up with ice, and then when they pour their large soda into that cup, they're only gonna get like 12 ounces, yeah. And we burn through that so quickly, but we get that free refill. And that's what I enjoyed watching because it was like like, oh my god, you guys have free refills, it's insane! Like, this is crazy.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, to watch them lose their minds over free refills. Like I said, just 40-minute rant about ranch, and I'm over here like I love ranch, like ranch is something that I just take for granted because it's like right, you know, it's the things that we take for granted that causes us to see the bigger picture when other people see it and make comments like, yo, we don't even have this where we're at.

SPEAKER_11

And to be fair, I mean, and this is where you're gonna get the crazy stuff, but like like the dyes and the chemicals that are used to create some of the foods that we have, they're banned in a lot of these countries, so they don't get the opportunity to try this stuff. So I just I don't know, I just I appreciate the World Cup in that aspect. And in terms of learning about the sport, I knew nothing about soccer. I think this is honestly, this is probably the first time that I've actually paid attention to some of the games, and I've learned about some of the games. Um yeah, just I I found it very interesting to say the least, and and I've had a lot of fun learning what I've learned, and I feel comfortable enough now that I can turn on a football game and understand it. I'm not gonna say I understand it like a foot, like an American football game, yeah, but I understand it enough to watch it and be like, oh, okay, it's not just people running back and forth on a soccer field. For 90 minutes. Yeah, there's there's more to it, obviously. And I know there's more to it, but it's just you're so single-minded on certain things that you just eh, whatever, just kind of go with it, and then you take the time to learn about something, and you're like, oh wow, I actually kind of like this more than I thought I would.

SPEAKER_03

The rules can actually get very, very complicated.

SPEAKER_11

They are like the offsides thing, I try to understand having a hard time understanding that. So, okay, so I believe that the simplest way I've broken it down for myself is in this, and I could be still wrong. You just cannot be past the last person. Yeah, the last person. You just can't be. Yes, yeah, correct. Yeah, yeah. That's it. Yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_12

No matter where they are on the field, no that you can't be past their like their last person.

SPEAKER_07

Their last person.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, yeah, that's the best way to describe it. That's considered off sides. Yeah, so that person that person can be standing. Well, I'm gonna call midfield. You just can't go past midfield. Now, I don't know if that works.

SPEAKER_12

So they have to always have somebody not fully in front of them. Yes, I feel like that's a goal.

SPEAKER_08

Yep.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, that is why I never understood that rule. Because like in hockey, I don't think that's a thing. You can press in hockey, unless you basketball. Yes, you do. Basketball, you can press, but soccer you can't press. Nope.

SPEAKER_11

That's interesting.

SPEAKER_12

It's interesting.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, see, so that that's the simplest way I was able to finally the offside because I because I was so lost home. Like, what do you mean? Huh?

SPEAKER_07

What do you mean, offsides? He was he didn't snap the ball, he didn't, he didn't move. Uh Yeti microphone. I don't I I don't know if it's like a I don't know if it's like a sound thing, because it's like right before he goes out, like he goes staticky, like he sounds like a robot, and then we can't hear him.

SPEAKER_01

So I don't I don't know. But depending on how old the microphone is, it could just have something going out in it.

SPEAKER_07

Could it it very well could be passenger or something? Yeah, he might he might need to he might need to update that thing, maybe, which kind of sucks because yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna invest.

SPEAKER_11

Um, you know what, I'm gonna do this shit right now. I'm gonna order a new microphone.

SPEAKER_07

Order a new microphone is gonna be here tomorrow. While you wants to be here tomorrow because he wants to reshoot, he wants to reshoot his scenes from tonight's episode. Yeah, I am a little bit.

SPEAKER_12

But Grizz, Jeffrey Bezos is gonna send him his new microphone.

SPEAKER_07

I thought he was gonna say Jeffrey Donnie is gonna be.

SPEAKER_12

Jeffrey Donnie's gonna deliver your new uh while you're ordering a new microphone. I'll give my two and a half cents.

Seattle Match Days And Travel Reality

SPEAKER_12

Um living here in Seattle, being in a city that's hosted the World Cup and has had matches, uh, has been a really interesting experience, especially because I live downtown too. I also work downtown and seeing a lot of the people that have come to visit and you know support their country, like even though Mexico wasn't playing in Seattle, but like a lot of the people like on match days walking around the city wearing the Mexico kit. Yep, because we had we had a barge that was docked at one of the piers that was showing the matches that weren't playing in Seattle, and then if they were playing in Seattle, they were definitely showing them on the barge um so people could you know feed as many people as they can, you know. Yeah, uh because the tickets for the matches are expensive. So it was really cool, and then like when one of the teams, you know, inevitably won, that country that was living in the people that support that country that live here in Seattle were out in the streets like partying, and like it was just really cool to see. Like one day I was walking down the piers, and I can't remember what country it was, but they won their match. Well, technically, it was I think they tied, it was one-one, but that was enough to advance them to the next round at that point because it wasn't knockout yet. And they were people were like driving down the bike lane on those scooters, and when they would get close, like there's this group of people, and they were just like making a tunnel and shit, and people were the these people on the scooters did not know them at all. Yeah, it was just like total strangers passing through. And like I was just sitting there in that moment when I walked by and saw it, and was like, dude, that's really fucking rad. Like just watching people celebrate, like that's really cool.

SPEAKER_07

It's beautiful, innit?

SPEAKER_12

And it is, you know, and like and and to the point you made earlier, like just seeing people from other countries travel to the US, yeah. And and you know, some people have been here maybe like to visit New York or Los Angeles or whatever. Uh but if they traveled to some of the cities like Kansas City was hosting, yep. I bet you people that traveled to Kansas City to watch the World Cup were blown away by how nice and kind people the people of Kansas City are. Now, there's rude people everywhere, right? But I bet you on average they ran because we fucking went there. Like we know how nice those people are. And there could be a privilege attached to it, but I doubt it because like that area seems like it's just genuinely that kind.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_07

No, I I I agree. And and and it's just been uh to s I think one of the one of the other things is people coming from other countries and finally realizing just how big the United States is. Because you go to the UK, you can hop on a train and travel 45 minutes anywhere, and you're already in a different country. You are here, you try travel 45 minutes any direction in any state, and you're still in the state.

SPEAKER_03

There's like a joke. You can live in Texas, drive for 12 hours and still be in Texas.

SPEAKER_07

Still be in Texas. And and that's where yeah. Yeah, that's where that's where I think a lot of um a lot of misconceptions again come into play where they say, you know, Americans really aren't well traveled, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And here's the thing, as far as like visiting other countries and getting different culture under your belt, sure. Maybe there aren't a lot of Americans that travel to Rome or, you know, or or or anywhere outside in that general direction, Poland, whatever, Ireland, you name it, they don't go there, right? But if you're here in the United States, everything that every other country offers, the United States has. You know what I mean? See the see that scenery. You we have mountain ranges. You wanna go you wanna go see some mountains? We got some mountains. We got we got the Rockies, we got the Himalayas, like like, or whatever the fuck it is over there.

SPEAKER_03

But all I'm saying is Rocky Mountains, Smoky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah. We have mountain ranges. So it's like whatever you're looking for, we've got it. You just gotta know where to look, you know?

SPEAKER_03

So it's not only that, but not only that, but international travel is very fucking expensive.

SPEAKER_07

I mean a lot of people don't want to be able to do it. I think it's a little more affordable than a lot of people realize.

SPEAKER_03

Because you need you need a passport, you need to get your airfare, you need to get your travel accommodation.

SPEAKER_12

Are you like the passport's once every 10 years? Right. You just invest right, but they're not cheap. It's like a couple hundred bucks.

SPEAKER_08

Yeti.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, if you're struggling to put like food on your table, though, I mean Yeah, I mean you don't buy it, you don't buy it when you're struggling.

SPEAKER_12

You buy you buy the passport because you you could you could plan for a passport before planning for the trip.

SPEAKER_03

Correct.

SPEAKER_12

So right, but my point is like knowing you don't need it.

SPEAKER_03

My point is it's still an expense. It is.

SPEAKER_11

Even if at least that at least that first travel will be more costly because you are buying stuff that you need that you never not needed because this is your first time doing stuff.

SPEAKER_12

Depending on how you do it. You could slowly accumulate, like, oh, I need luggage. Let me buy luggage this time that I have extra money. Right, right. Next time I have extra money, let me put it aside to get the passport. You know, it just takes time. You have to plan, you're not going to be able to do it all at once. All in one sitting, right?

SPEAKER_03

Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_12

Unless you're balling like that. But like not everybody is.

SPEAKER_03

The thing I'm saying is, if you are traveling like within your own country, that is an expense you don't have to make.

SPEAKER_12

Well, not yet. Yeah, I mean, the US is low-key trying to make it to where you basically have to buy a passport to exist. That's true. But what I'm saying, like I mean, like with the real ID, like you can't fly without a real ID unless you bring a passport.

SPEAKER_07

Yep.

SPEAKER_12

I don't have a real ID, so I have to travel with my passport.

SPEAKER_07

Which is crazy. That you have to. They didn't make it manage. No, you're mine.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, I think I think they're making it. I think coming up, you're gonna they're forcing me into it. But I the reason why I held out is because my ID was so new already. Like when I got my Washington ID, I didn't get the real ID at that time.

SPEAKER_03

See, I if I'm not mistaken, without a real ID, you can't even travel like domestically. Is that correct?

SPEAKER_12

Correct. That's correct. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. And I have to I have to travel with my passport. I had heard because I don't have the real ID.

SPEAKER_07

I had heard that they were they were charging just they were just gonna charge people extra if they didn't have if they didn't have the passport. Or the or if they if they didn't have the real ID. So like you can still use the passport, but you're they're gonna charge you extra because you don't have the real ID. Which again, that's where I fucked. Yeah, it's fucked.

SPEAKER_03

It absolutely is to to travel within your own country, and you I gotta do all like keep coming up with sneaky ways to get more money out of people. That's all it is.

SPEAKER_07

That's all it comes down to.

SPEAKER_12

Well, it costs a lot of money to run an organized crime agency.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, you're not wrong. Ask the Yakuza. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. For the joke before some men in black show up or something. So, but no, like, like again, it's been it's been a treat, honestly. Just seeing everybody from all over. It's kind of a treat. You know, a a a good treat. Like just it's like like I said, it's been beautiful to see people get like actual like human interaction and not something being fed to them about, oh, here we go, another school shooting in the US that you hear about, or XYZ, that just always gloom and doom, right? Like, like I we get it, people are fucked up. And and I try to remind people all the time because they're like, when did the world get so crazy? And I'm always like, brother, you remember that way. You remember back in the day when like in this little town called Salem, they just point out a woman and be like, which, and they just burn her alive in the middle of the street in front of everybody? Like, we've always been kind of shitty. So I don't know. You know what I mean? And and I think I think a lot of it is just because social media has allowed you to see it front and center rather than you know, it was a lot easier to keep it behind closed doors back then. I mean, obviously, with the Salem witch trials, that was just you know put on Front Street. But if that's for the people that were in that immediate area, right? You're halfway across the country or down in one of the original 13 fucking colonies, go down south, you're not hearing about that. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_12

Unless you They're probably doing it in all the towns when you really think about it.

SPEAKER_07

Right, when you really think about it, they they probably are, but it was easier to keep those skeletons in the closet, right? Like it wasn't nowadays if something the moment something bad happens, somebody whips out their phone and they're recording it. So the internet it's on the internet somewhere. So it's just it's just been really cool to see everybody come together and just kind of peel back the layer and say, you know what? We're all not as different as we thought we were.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and that was a point that I was gonna make, like when because I think all of us have probably met people, lots of people from different countries, probably Graze more than any of us, but I worked at a pretty large hospital for several years, and then we met people from all over the world. When you meet people like like as individuals in person, everybody is much different than what social media portrays them to be. Like, oh, these people from this country, they're all assholes. These people from this country, pretty dope. Basically, everybody is more or less the same.

SPEAKER_07

Or they get exposed like Canada did. Not to throw shade at Canada, but apparently Canada. Yeah, throughout throughout the entirety of the of the World Cup, Canada was being an absolute asshole to a lot of visitors that were coming in. Yes, they were.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, how the tables have turned. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I guess I guess when it comes to Canada, that's the big difference between nice and kind. Right.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Canadians have like a big reputation for being nice, but nice and kind are not the same thing.

SPEAKER_12

Well, that's that's what you know, as far as they're probably because like I think I think being nice is like all you're nice or whatever, but like being kind is I actually am I'm doing this because I I I know that this is what I'm supposed to do because it's like a nice thing to do, but I actually don't fucking want to. You know what? You know what I mean? Like that's the difference between the thing. And I think I'm a kind person, so I think that too.

SPEAKER_07

There was a stand-up comedian, and he put it the best way possible. And he was like, 'cause he did, he did describe the difference between nice and kind. And he said, I've been on both sides of the of the country, and he's like, on the west coast, people are nice, right? Like on the on the west coast, people are nice. Like they're not kind. Like, like if you're if you're broke down on the side of the road, they'll see you, they won't stop and help you. They'll just be like, oh man, that really sucks. I hope nothing bad happens to them, right? I I hope they get the help they need, right? But he's like, NYC. He said, You go to the East Coast, though, and these motherfuckers, could he was like, they will stop and they'll get out and be like, Why didn't you change your tire? Oh, well, I don't know how to do that. And they'll change the tire because it's the right thing to do, but they will bitch at you the whole time about you not knowing how to change your tire.

SPEAKER_11

Exactly. Do you want to know why? That's probably like that. It's probably because a lot of those horror stories where you hear people getting jumped and mugged and beat up, I think all come from like the West Coast area when people are stranded and asking for help and shit. I mean, it could be they just created this whole thing of like, yeah, I ain't helping nobody.

SPEAKER_03

That's like a great example. Like, New Yorkers are not nice, but they are pretty kind. Yeah, they will tell you like what's they will tell you what's on their mind. Like, get the fuck out the way. I just say stay.

SPEAKER_07

You're fucking microfluid, bro. I think I think so. I think there's something going on with your mic.

SPEAKER_03

I'm talking I guess you're talking to Yeti.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, because he went out. But go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just saying, like you know, New Yorkers will be like, yo, get the fuck out the way. But that's just because they want you to fucking move, because you're in their goddamn way.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But like if you fell, they would help you up.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's and that's like like that is the difference between nice and kind. Like, nice, you're just doing things to be nice. Possibly there's it, there's something in it for you, right? Kind is just the right thing to do. I hate that I have to do this. I'm gonna bitch about it the whole time. But I'm gonna do it. I'm I'm gonna make sure you're good because it's the right thing to do. But when I get dumb, when I get done with the task, I'm gonna be like, you know how to do it now? Yeah, okay. Don't ever get in this position ever again.

SPEAKER_03

I guess like the most like summed up summed up way to explain it is nice is for you, kindest for them.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, basically. Basically.

SPEAKER_12

So but I thought I'd I try to be both. It's hard though.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I mean, I mean, kind kind of couples with nice, right? Like you you do you try to be nice when you're kind, but at the same time, being kind, you know, mean it. Right, right. And and being being the kind person, you know.

SPEAKER_12

And I know no one else is gonna fucking do it. Which is so I may as well do it.

SPEAKER_07

Which is kind, which is kind. That's very kind of you, sir. Yeah, no, no, I get that. Like I said, it I think I think it kind of couples together where you're kind of like, you know, you kind of have to have that good intent behind it rather than just, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, nobody else is doing it, so I guess I'll fucking do it.

SPEAKER_07

You know what I mean? Like, for me, I'm just like, listen, just get it done, right? Get it done. If it has to be done, it's gotta be done. And I'm gonna get it done. You need help. Let me get you out of here, and then you can be on your way. So, but no, it's just been it's been really cool uh with with us hosting hosting the World Cup. Will they ever do it again? I hope so. Fingers are crossed. I hope so too. Yeah, so it's like we've got we've got plenty coming up, but I would hopefully in our lifetime that can host it, so right.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, that uh not not not the city that I live in, but plenty of other ones.

SPEAKER_07

I do know, I do know, I was told that um a lot of the uh they probably could, FC Cincinnati. But a lot of the uh stadiums that they that that host the stadium could handle it, but I don't know like the influx of people. They're not um they're not partners with World Cup. So when they when they played, they had to cover up like the name of the stadium. So like Gillette Stadium. They did some there uh this made me laugh marketing, right? Right. So what they did was they covered up Gillette because Gillette is a name brand and they're not a partner with World Cup. They covered up Gillette. They cover they covered up Gillette, the name Gillette with shaving cream. They're shaving cream. I was like, that's that's cool. That's that's funny. Yeah, so they they they thought of clever ways of covering up their names because you know they're not.

SPEAKER_12

Well, it's almost like paying homage too. Right. Like paying respect.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. So it was it was really cool. And then of course, you know, people were curious as to um um they thought it was people were really loving that like every national anthem was being sung and all that kind of stuff, and it was just it was just really cool seeing everybody come together. So the World Cup has has truly brought the world together, and apparently soccer really does do that. So soccer is a is a sport all across across all walks of life. I mean, mostly pretty popular with kids, right? Like you grow up into that kind of stuff. I don't know how many of you played soccer as a child, just for shits and gigs. None of us, none of us, I did. I did.

SPEAKER_11

I mean, I mean I played it for fun, but I never played it like right for a team.

SPEAKER_07

On a team, yeah, for a team.

SPEAKER_11

I hated running, but I enjoyed which is odd because you played football. You're not running all the time, though. You run short bursts.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but I I I don't know. I feel like running short bursts a lot is a lot more tiring than just running constantly. Like I could I could do a steady jog for 90 minutes sprinting at full speed, like a hundred yards or something for like 60 minutes, that sounds like torture.

SPEAKER_12

That sounds like my long time. Right, because there's 11 on offense and defense. Yep, they switch out a lot. And then don't they have 11 for special teams? So there's like 33 players.

SPEAKER_11

But I mean, if you I mean, if you play multiple positions and you're playing, I mean, obviously, the higher you get in in depending on your position, you're not like they they don't got Jamar Chase out there on special teams. Well, I'm gonna say sometimes they do, but normally normally the higher you go, you tend to start focusing on just one position, right?

SPEAKER_07

Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. So just all in all, just it just sounds awful. They're like, okay, you gotta run five yards and then slant, and then I'm gonna pass it to you. And if you can make it to the to the end zone, do it. And I'm like, I'm good, I'm already tired. Think about running five fucking yards. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_12

Like, I mean, running a play, right? Like when you run a play, you're you're it's different conditioning though, right?

SPEAKER_07

It is, it it absolutely is.

SPEAKER_12

They're loading their body differently, because like you and I, like we've we have experience in like long, like long running. Right. I think running for one hour is long running, if you ask me. Because most people run 10 to 30 minutes, maybe. Yes, 30 minutes being a max.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um, unless you're a runner, then I think 30 minutes is your base, but whatever. Um that type of running is such a different type of conditioning because you're very different. I think I think running is kind of easy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, hell yeah.

SPEAKER_12

It's like the sprinting and agility and that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

Special, like that's that's yeah, that's a lot. Yeah, that's because you have to be explosive.

SPEAKER_12

I'm not saying that soccer is not athletic.

SPEAKER_01

No, right, you have to be explosive. Yeah, you've got to be explosive.

SPEAKER_07

That's right. You can't you can't pass me, bro, because then you're off sides. Stay the fuck in front of me.

SPEAKER_03

So it's like I could you you could just do what I do and not run at all.

SPEAKER_07

Uh yeah, be a goalie, right?

SPEAKER_11

Like Yeah, I don't know if I can be a goalie. I think I'd rather run. That's a lot of pressure, but yeah, that that's that's yeah, that's one shot.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, there's a lot of people that don't know your name.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. Normally, soccer is not a high scoring game. Yeah. Yes, correct, correct.

SPEAKER_12

Technically, football's not either. It's just the points weigh differently.

SPEAKER_09

True.

SPEAKER_07

Unless you get somebody still one point remote. Unless you'll go. Unless, unless you get somebody like Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase on the field, and then you're doing like 30, 40 points a game. You know what I'm saying? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We're overlooking that, Templeton. Jesus Christ, give us cut, give us a fucking break, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the season hasn't even started.

SPEAKER_07

But nah, it's it's just it's been really cool, and I'm hoping we host it again. Um if you you tell us, fire, fire off in the comments. What has been your biggest takeaway from the World Cup, from the United States hosting the World Cup? Are you happy that we hosted the World Cup? Because I do know that there are some people that are like, especially now, right now, the way we are, we're hosting the World Cup. I mean, I think it was a nice little break, yeah, from everything that's kind of going on. Think we needed a little bit of hope core in between all of this, you know what I mean? So I don't know. You just you just let us know how you feel about that. Um and if you're really, really wanting to get to us on a on a personal level, text us. You can hit that little button that says text us here. You can hit that little link, and I promise you it'll pop right up on your little phone, and you can be like, hey guys, I love the World Cup. Messi for president or whatever they say. I don't know. Chris is like, they don't they don't say that. Nobody says that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well, maybe Argentina might say that they might say that. But they're not saying Miami, Florida might say that.

SPEAKER_07

Maybe, but they're not, they're not, they're not saying it everywhere in the United States of America.

SPEAKER_12

So uh people don't like Argentina.

SPEAKER_07

Really?

SPEAKER_12

Uh team-wise, not the country. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Uh there's like there we didn't even talk about the conspiracy theories on FIFA and the World Cup bullshit. No, no, we're gonna be like tricks and shit.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, because I know that they uh they they caused a big stink, especially when I think we got to the round of 16 and one of our players was red carded, and they weren't supposed to, they were they were supposed to sit out that game. But then Trump said something about you need to review this, and they reviewed it, and everybody's like the fix is in, and then we lost. Yeah, yeah. Then we proceeded to lose like four to one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

So I don't know what they're they're they were like, your your president tried to intervene. Make them lose.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, make them lose, sweep the leg, no mercy.

SPEAKER_07

Uh microphone. I know he was saying something funny too. I know he was. I wanted to laugh. I wanted to giggle. I wanted to giggle. Watch this.

SPEAKER_11

No, I was just gonna say when I pick my daughter up, so she always fights me to go back into the car seat. She always like arches her back, and I'm like, look, I'm about to teach you something, and I sweep her legs, and I'm like, sweep the legs, sweet, and she falls into the car seat.

SPEAKER_09

That's funny. No mercy. Yeah, you're getting in this car seat.

SPEAKER_07

You're getting in this car.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Every day, day care. Like clockwork. That's hilarious. She giggles, she laughs, she looks at me and goes, that's actually hilarious. Sweet the leg. No mercy.

SPEAKER_07

So anyway, yeah, there there are some uh conspiracy theories out there that were that were circulating around FIFA and the World Cup, uh, how things were going, you know, like um kind of like they do with with with our American football here.

FIFA Fix Talk And Wrap Up

SPEAKER_07

They're like, oh, they write the script and all that kind of stuff. So I just wanted to kind of keep it a little short because it is late and we do have to kind of wrap this up.

Grizz Thought On Existence

SPEAKER_07

So before we get into fun and games, I believe Grizz, it's high time for Grizz to give us a little thoughty thought, a little thotty thought. Dotty dotty dotty thought.

SPEAKER_12

Brother, this is ten times funnier now that I'm way higher than I'm gonna do. I can't I can't wait. Nah, because I feel like this is only gonna land for me. It's not even funny, it's just like, dude, I'm I'm so sorry in advance. Do I exist because I think? Or do I think because I exist?

SPEAKER_07

Do I exist because I think? Or do I think because I exist?

SPEAKER_11

I think you think because you exist. Because you're gonna be here no matter what.

SPEAKER_12

Right? I'm here because I think I am.

SPEAKER_11

So if you're not here, where the fuck are you? Nobody knows exactly, dude. Dude, I was ready for you to be like, with Jeffrey Donnie.

SPEAKER_05

Jeffrey Donnie! Jeffrey Donnie knows. Jeffrey Donnie knows.

SPEAKER_03

That's so there's a there's a there's a very famous quote that says, I think I am, therefore I am.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's true. See, that's Jeffrey gets me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. No, but I think. Before like existing. What is existing?

SPEAKER_12

Dude. Tell me.

SPEAKER_07

We're about to get deep. We're about to get deep. We're about to get deep. We're gonna open this can right now. No, it's a good idea. We're about to get deep.

SPEAKER_00

I don't care. We're about to get deep real quick. What is existing?

SPEAKER_07

Is existing just being here? Is that is that your idea of existing? Or or are we existing because we can think, we can decipher things, we can problem solve, we can do all these things, we can find ways to get to the moon and beyond. Is that is that what existing is?

SPEAKER_03

That's a very interesting point. You want to know what I think?

SPEAKER_07

It's 1 a.m. and I want to go to bed. Jeffrey Donnie has possessed him. Okay. That's fine. Let us know what you think about our existential crisis right now.

SPEAKER_12

I think existing is being present. That's what I'm saying. Being present in the moment. Which would mean obviously you plan for the future and all that fun shit, but like plans can change from day to day. You're right.

SPEAKER_04

You're right.

SPEAKER_12

The only thing we have, the only thing we have is the choices we make. That's all we have.

SPEAKER_11

You're not wrong. Or do we do we have the control to make our choices, or that the choices being made made for us?

SPEAKER_12

I think we have control for the maybe it doesn't matter. I think we have control. I think that we've been numbed and we go into autopilot and we're making comfortable choices based on fear or what have you. But I think we have the control. I just think that our scope is extremely limited because we're so fucking numbed.

SPEAKER_05

After Yeti said, It's 1 a.m., we're not gonna get into this, and then he wants to and then he dies deep.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I was gonna say he wants to expand the scope on this. Like, what the fuck? So, anyway, let us know what you think about the existential crisis we just brought up. Do we exist because we think, or do we think because we exist? Ah, that is the question. So, who wants some fun in games? Me. You? Alright. Anyone else? Yeti? Me twice. Are you saying things or is your mic dead? Your mic's dead. Okay, so I am gonna pose this question, and you guys might hate me for this, and that's okay.

Least Funny Comedian Debate

SPEAKER_07

Who do you think out of these four is the least funny? Jim Carrey. Wait, he's come back. Okay. So we'll start again. Who do we think is the least funny? Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler is the last one. Out of those four, who's the least funny? That's tough.

SPEAKER_11

I'm sorry. Hold on. Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, who else?

SPEAKER_07

Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler. Those are your four.

SPEAKER_11

Alright, it's easy for me, and it's probably gonna catch heat, and it is what it is, but Chris Rock.

SPEAKER_07

Agreed. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Grizz looked at you like you got three fucking heads, bro. Yo.

SPEAKER_12

It's just not the answer I was expecting.

SPEAKER_11

Okay, so so okay, to be fair, okay. Jim Carrey loved all of his movies. He is just I grew up watching Ace Ventura.

SPEAKER_12

Have you seen his stand-up too, though?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. He's got good stand-up. Yeah, he does have. I haven't seen many of his stand-ups. I've seen, like I said, I've more of his movies. I've seen a lot of Eddie movies' movies and his stand-ups, and I just he's fucking hilarious. Like again, I mean his his what was the movie where he was Norbit? Is that the one where you played like 18 people? Is that the name of the movie?

SPEAKER_07

Well, he did it in Nutty Professor and Norbit.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Nutty Professor Norbit too, right?

SPEAKER_07

Well, I think he only played a few.

SPEAKER_12

He also did Norbit. Yeah, I think he only played like I see, I see, I see, I see. Yeah, but we played like 18 people, that's fucking this guy played a white Jewish guy.

SPEAKER_07

Hercules, Hercules, Hercules. Exactly. Yeti, Yeti, your microphone. I know it sucks. I know it's tough.

SPEAKER_12

He might still have it stuff. He might be on to something. Cause I think that I think that Chris, I think Chris Rock or Adam Sandler. Like those are the two weak ones of this list. Okay. I I I think I like Adam Sandler's movies, but as far as like if we're judging based on like who's objectively the funniest, we're not just looking at their movies, though.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, we're looking at stand-ups and everything, the culmination of their work. Yeah, culmination of their work.

SPEAKER_12

And like Sandler is really fucking funny, and I'm sure I don't know if he does stand up, but if he did, he would probably be really fucking good. Yeah, he does. And he is he is he has a very niche style of comedy. He does, and I doesn't age well.

SPEAKER_11

So I was torn, I will say I was torn between those two as well, but I I lean toward keeping Sandler because I go back to the movies. I've watched so many of his movies, and it's just they're so nostalgic. Like I turn on one of his movies, and it's like, oh like I remember being a kid watching this. Chris Rock, he's funny. Do not take anything away from this conversation and say that I never said he was funny, he was not funny. He's hilarious. My thing is, is memorable moments with me are fewer with him than the other scene.

SPEAKER_12

That makes sense. I I'll give you that. Like you are making a good case. I do think objectively Chris Rock is funnier.

SPEAKER_07

Than Adam Sandler.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

See, I think if you're judging based on movie and stuff, like Sandler has a better roster for sure. Yeah, or hell yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Hell yeah. And and oftentimes his movies. But that's an output thing. His movies are stacked though. Adam Sandler has has a lot of support too. I mean, Grown-Ups was fucking hilarious.

SPEAKER_09

I still want I still want to know how much of that movie was improv. Oh, I'm sure a lot of it was.

SPEAKER_12

Well, I bet you most. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of it was.

SPEAKER_12

I bet they had like a loose scene set.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. They probab they said, here's the premise of what this scene is gonna look like. Go for it. Let us know how you get to this part. I will say like the stupid microphone.

SPEAKER_03

Well, with Sandler, like a lot of the scenes in movies that he was like attached to or even in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Some of the funniest stuff that he was not involved in was still written by him.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Adam Sandler is very, very talented in in in what he does. Um excuse me. But you said so Yeti believes Chris Rock. Uh Grizz, you said Adam Sandler.

SPEAKER_12

I'm gonna stick to it, but I I do I could be persuaded. Okay. But I think for the sake of this episode, I'm gonna stick to Adam Sandler being the least funniest. And Templeton. And I'll I'll take the heat. I'll take the heat.

SPEAKER_07

He said he said he said, I'll do it. I'll jump on that grenade. Templeton, you agree that Chris Rock is the least funniest out of out of those four.

SPEAKER_03

I did, yes.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Who didn't miss the and and again, like it's not I'm not me saying I don't think Chris Rock is hilarious. What about you, Jay? Chris Rock is hilarious, but I have to pick somebody, and that's who I picked.

SPEAKER_07

Right. So I think I think we all think similarly here. And I'm going to say I'm gonna have to go with Barry Me.

SPEAKER_03

If you say Eddie Murphy, I'm driving to your house. Oh, hell you want to face it. Hell no, hell no.

SPEAKER_07

It's funny. For me, this list would go Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, and then probably it's really tough. But I'm probably gonna have to say Chris uh Adam Sandler, then Chris Rock. I would say Chris Rock is Lee's funniest only because, and I only say that because it's the body of work between Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. Adam Sandler's catalog is just so much more massive than Chris Rock's is. But what Chris Rock has done for me has been some of the funniest shit that I have ever seen. I've seen almost all of Chris Rock's stand-ups fucking hilarious. Save for like the last one that he did. It was after it was after the slap, of course. Everybody remembers the slap between Will Smith and all that kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_11

That's right. Yeah, because he had that Netflix special. Yep, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

And and he didn't he danced around it until the never no until the end of his stand-up, he finally addressed it. And I don't know, I like just I don't know if it's age. I'm I'm assuming it's age that a lot of a lot of their stuff gets toned down. Because I noticed it with Eddie Murphy as well, because back in the day with like Raw, Delirious, all that kind of shit, like he was very off the chain. He was crazy, and I loved I've loved Eddie Murphy's uh SNL skits, like when he did James Brown, he's like too hot and hot too. That was one of my favorite skits from Eddie Murphy. So if you know, you know. Um and Jim Carrey, enough said, um, but Adam Sandler's catalog and his stand-ups, and I know Grizz, to your point, when he's when you said that his stand-ups don't really age well, I agree that most of his, like most of the stand-up doesn't age well, but seeing that there are songs that he made, especially like his Hanukkah song, that are played every year. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like I play that while I'm making Christmas dinner.

SPEAKER_07

Right, and it's fucking hilarious. Yeah. So uh while I'll agree that probably a lot of his most of his stand-up material doesn't age super well because, like you said, his style of comedy is very niche. It just is, which is why every Adam Sandler movie feels like an Adam Sandler movie, because it is that particular form of comedy. And and it it works. It works for him and his crew and the people that work with him. But out of the four, I'd have to say Chris Rock simply because Adam Sandler has a bigger body of work to choose from.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I I will say this um to to support because I know people are gonna come at me. I want to I want to like give my my reasoning like a good support. Um I think that objectively Chris Rock has better quality, yeah, yeah, yeah. Stand up. Yep. And his his comedic career is what I would probably say he probably focused most on, because that's where you see his most success. And then he's landed a couple movies, yeah, and but maybe he just didn't have the same opportunities as Adam Sandler, possibly movie-wise.

SPEAKER_07

I could agree with that.

SPEAKER_12

Um but that's all hearsay, right? I don't have anything to back that up. Right. But my my the reasoning behind thinking that Sandler is the least funny, it's objective, but I think that Chris Rock has better quality comedy. Yeah, and Adam Sandler has more quantity.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_12

He has a lot of movies, right? He has a lot of movies, and he has a lot of success because of those movies. Yes. But I just personally think he's not as funny as Chris Rock.

SPEAKER_07

Correct.

SPEAKER_12

But he is really. I mean, when we're saying what we're talking about here is like, oh, I think the Ferrari is the least cool car of all the supercar. You know what I'm saying? Like, like that's what we're talking about here. That's before someone in the comments that comes having it says like Adam Saylor, this. Nah, bitch. Like we're talking about supercars.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that that's that's liter, that's literally where we're at right now, is that we're over here talking about, you know, the Adam Saylor's track.

SPEAKER_12

Comparing the Lamborghinis. Yeah, comparing the Lamborghini.

SPEAKER_07

Yeti your microphone. Um, I I don't want you to waste your thought. Uh uh quickly reset it because we got to get into the fun fact and wrap this up because it's already one o'clock. It's 1 a.m. It's 1 a.m. Give us your thought real quick.

SPEAKER_11

So, yeah, yeah. So, no, I start okay. You were talking about like comparing like cars and shit. I just started a new podcast, Joe and Jada. If you guys have not listened to Joe and Jada, I highly recommend it. It's fucking great. But it's I just their last episode I listened to, they were talking about name their five top hip hop songs of all time. And they literally what we're saying right now is the same shit that they were saying on that podcast. Yeah, and it just it was it was hilarious to me. Because they were like, how do you expect us to pick five of the greatest?

SPEAKER_07

Like it's it's it's difficult, it truly is right.

SPEAKER_12

And when I should we should do that for a fun fun and games next time. I'm good with that.

SPEAKER_07

Or sometime. Yeah, I'm I'm I'm good with that. I'm good with that. So, but let's quickly wrap this up, put and so we can put a pretty little bow on it, because it's already 1.10 in the morning for us, Grizz. Yeah, I know we we are up way past our bedtime. So who wants a fun fact?

The Moon Is Leaving Earth

SPEAKER_07

Let's hear it. Okay, hit it.

SPEAKER_05

Did you know?

SPEAKER_03

What the hell?

SPEAKER_07

I know, right? Crazy. That the moon is gradually drifting away from Earth.

SPEAKER_12

Audio, so we go. I actually did know that.

SPEAKER_07

Bye, buddy.

SPEAKER_01

Hope you find your dad.

SPEAKER_12

What do you think that would happen? Like, I mean, okay, let me rephrase this stupid ass high. What do you think would happen if we got to witness it? Like, I know that it's something would happen. Um, but like what so like the moon when the moon is close, the tide comes up. When the moon goes away, the tide pulls back. So I'm wondering like how much that would if there's no longer a moon influencing the water.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know. Maybe maybe maybe it would maybe all that water would just come rushing into in on inland. I don't know.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, because do you think it would like because it pulls back and it you it would probably crash, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's that's that's what I'm thinking. I don't know how dramatic it would be, but it would be inter I don't know if it would be interesting to see, but it would be interesting to know what happened.

SPEAKER_12

But what if it did crash it? That would be coming all at once. Dude, that would be wild.

SPEAKER_07

But the moon is drifting away from Earth and it's slowing our spin.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. But don't worry.

SPEAKER_07

Is that gonna slow down time though? Don't worry. We've got a few million years until that problem starts. So yes, the moon is technically drifting off into space, but it's not in a hurry. The distance between it and us is growing by around three centimeters or one point two inches every year. This phenomenon, known as lunar recession, is caused by the complex gravitational relationship between Earth, our tides, and the moon. The same game of cosmic tug and war affects us too. Our planet's rotation slows down the further the moon escapes from our grasp. This causes weaker tides and fractionally shorter days. But it really is a gradual process. We'll have to wait approximately 200 million years for the drag to give us even an extra hour a day.

SPEAKER_12

That's crazy. That's crazy, dude. Lunar recession is what I'm gonna call my hairline when I see the balls.

SPEAKER_07

Where's your hair? Where's your hair?

SPEAKER_12

I'm going through a lunar recession, bro.

SPEAKER_07

That's fucking crazy. So, anyway, do with that fun fact what you will. If you're excited that the moon is leaving, I don't know. It's gonna take a few million years, couple hundred million years before we even see anything happen.

SPEAKER_12

So we have like a uh like a send-off party.

SPEAKER_07

Wouldn't that be crazy?

SPEAKER_12

Celebrating the moon. Bye, moon. Bye.

SPEAKER_07

And it's just like, okay, guys.

SPEAKER_12

How dramatic do you think it's gonna be? I would god, I'd love to see it. Do you think it just slowly drifts until we just never see because if it just drifts, we would still see it for a little while.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, until it got like really, really, really, really tiny. Eventually it would just like dis I can't say it would disappear, right? Like it would it would literally like we would just like stars in our sky, right? Like like almost like a star, it just depends on how bright it was.

SPEAKER_12

But yeah, it would kind of still be in the earth's or the sun's gravity pool, though. Would I still see it? Yeah, we'll probably see it getting further away. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

You at some point you would eventually not see it.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, because it's not like as soon as it leaves our atmosphere, it would just like explode.

SPEAKER_05

No, it doesn't, it doesn't that wouldn't happen though. It doesn't the mo the moon the moon just combusts.

SPEAKER_01

It's like I'm so cooked right now. I'm so fucked. The fuck happened to the moon? Where did it where did I it would just slowly get smaller?

SPEAKER_12

I'm like, is it gonna explode?

SPEAKER_05

You just see this little you see this little out in the distance.

SPEAKER_12

Just a big old dust. I want to go stargazing, speaking of the moon.

Stargazing Apps And Night Sky Plans

SPEAKER_07

And uh listen, stargazing is a lot of fun. I have a telescope.

SPEAKER_12

It is I have a telescope being being up here in the Pacific Northwest, like if I drive a couple hours north, a couple hours north and like west, even like go to the peninsula. Yeah, but if I just go up to like Mount Baker or even out to Rainier, like you can see that would be that'd be the perfect stars, dude.

SPEAKER_03

That'd be the same. I gotta do it.

SPEAKER_12

I'm gonna do it this year. I'm gonna do it this year.

SPEAKER_03

Do it. You guys ever used the ever use the sky map app?

SPEAKER_12

Um yeah, I have I just downloaded it.

SPEAKER_03

That's fucking awesome.

SPEAKER_12

You stare at the stars and be like, what's that? And you pull your phone out and it tells you it's this fucking giant blue star, and you're like, dude, that's a fucking giant blue star.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so so uh on the I was looking at one day and like my phone was like, Oh, that's Mars. I was like, oh my god!

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, on my um whatch you call it, uh uh on my camera, when you go to the raw uh thing, the it's like a raw whatever uh uh uh yeah yeah yeah. Um it literally has a whatchall it um almost kind of like a star map, but it'll it they call it um I forget what the fuck they call it, but it's something like some kind of like you know, it tells you where all the constellations are and all that kind of shit. Like like you just kind of do that too.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you just kind of like if you want to look for like Jupiter, yeah. Like if you punch in Jupiter and say, I don't want to find Jupiter, it'll like give you keep moving your phone until you get it centered on Jupiter, and it'll say, Hey, that's Jupiter.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it's it's it's pretty.

SPEAKER_12

I didn't know it did that. I just like stare at the sky and wander around. Yeah. And I look at my feet because you can look under the earth too.

SPEAKER_07

And it'll show every yep, it'll show every space.

SPEAKER_12

It's not just right in front of me, it's below us too.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, look, there's space everywhere.

SPEAKER_05

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_07

Anyway, um we're gonna wrap this up and put a pretty little bow on it because I'm sure Yeti's ready to fucking punch.

SPEAKER_12

Is Michael cooked?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I am, dude. This is the chat. How cooked is it? All right. So I got a random question

Tipping On Pickup Orders

SPEAKER_11

though. What's the point? I'm about to I'm about to place my O'Charley's order for tomorrow. Okay. What? This it says add a tip. Just the tip. I'm picking this shit up. That's all you need. Do I add a tip? Yes. No. No.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Tip.

SPEAKER_12

No. Yeah. Tip tip. Tip tip tip. Do not tip tip. Tip who do not fucking tip. Tip.

SPEAKER_07

I did not I did not tip. Loser. What a loser. Only losers don't tip.

SPEAKER_12

If you want to tip when you get there because they took care of you, you fucking loser. Then do it. But do not pre-tip. Tip.

SPEAKER_07

Tip. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_12

Like, tip who are gonna tip this culture. Tip. Make these companies pay their employees. Tip. We don't have to.

SPEAKER_07

Anyway. Anyway.

SPEAKER_12

I'm gonna get yelled at in the comments. Are you?

SPEAKER_04

No, I'm gonna do that.

SPEAKER_12

I tip I tip, but I don't tip in areas where they pay well. Like Seattle servers make minimum wage, which is like $22 an hour.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

I'm all if I'm tipping downtown, it's because I'm at a sit-down restaurant. I am not tipping for my pickup orders.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, that was a phallic-shaped object you just showed us.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's big and it's black. It's big and it's it's got a black tip of purple. It's got a black tip, y'all. What is that? I'm not tip for pickup orders either. All right. Anyway.

SPEAKER_12

Is that your blue to Bluetooth subscription? Is that what you just stops? Yes.
